Meh. Didn't want one anyway...
I gave up smoking for my new years resolution. I've gone completely cold turkey. 20 Cigs on NYE.... nothing since. No patches or gum or anything... nada. So that has been a struggle - made harder by the fact that my body has decided to punish me for quitting smoking... I've got a serious case of man flu which I've had since NYD and only seems to be getting worse each day. I feel like death personified.
Fantastic.
To top things off, I havent cashed a single MTT in 2014.... I've lost a massive chunk of my BR on cash running like utter rubbish and the cherry on top of the pile of poo cake that is 2014 - i've just bubbled the Prio Bronze FR where 5+ got ipads.
Nice one 2014.
Maybe im being harsh on 2014... the end of 2013 wasn't great either with me writing off my car.

Ty mate. Happy New Year to you too. Hope yours has been better than mine! Not a whole lot going for me at the minute. 2014 has been just a horrible year so far all around. Hoping things turn around soon... even its its me just getting well for my birthday in just over a week.

TYVM. I'll do a slightly bigger post in a bit explaining to those that dont know what you might possibly mean by that comment.
Still feeling ill today. I had the day off work and will most likely take tomorrow off too. I spent 90% of the day in bed sleeping. I woke feeling ever so slightly better, but as there is very very little to do in bed whilst ill other than watch tv or play poker I decided to go for the latter.
I reg for the £22 deepstack, the main event and the mini.
The deepstack went well generally. I ran OK making the odd error here or there but I managed a min cash. Exit hand involved me cold 4 bet shoving 1010... I knew it was a pretty poor play tbh. I had expected to be behind and lo and behold I was to JJ and didnt get there.
The main was going OK at this time, as was the mini. That was until I got a little frisky in the mini and decided to call a limp/shove for effectively my entire stack with AQs. I was up against JJ (again) and (again) didnt get there.
I was left 1 tabling the Main Event by about half 10. I had about 18bb at this time, but a fair few bounties and was effectively freerolling.
I DU through this hand to get the ball rolling:
I then won a big pot 1010 v QQ after turning a set and I was right up amongst the chip leaders by the 11pm break.
I was like a yoyo from then on. I'd make an epic bluff... then a terrible one... then id make a great hand which got paid... then id make a good hand which paid someone else. I had however managed to get into the top 20 by this stage and after a few nice spots picking up bounties v shorter stacks I was in a good position to kick on and secure a FT cash.
Then I gave a double up to bolly AQ v AK
Then I gave a double up to Tommyd KQ v AK
Not the best people to give chips to. However I wasnt in panic mode as I was still deep and knew other opportunities would present themselves.... and they did.
I won 48k on 8 high board with JJ v 1010.
Then 42k more 3 betting button with Q9s... getting called in two spots but taking the pot down uncontested on the flop.
and 72k more in a 3 bet pot with A10s.
Final table time! My first Final table of 2014... and it started quite well...
Then came HU. I was 3/1 chip leader but we were both deepstacked. 7 pages of HH will attest to that.
I was really pleased with my HU play... which is something im not used to saying. I just seemed to pick all the right spots to make my moves. I dunno, maybe villain was card dead, but it seemed like I was in control for the vast majority of HU.
2nd ever Main Event win. Oddly enough the last one came last January. Managed to bink £2k and suddenly 2014 doesn't suck so much. I even managed to get a shoutout on the EPT PCA Live Stream.
Like the money matters - I just want to beat TommyD and MattBates on Slipwaters January ME Leaderboard. Come on!

and i'm sure you know already but:
#1 always assume everyone else on the road is an idiot
#2 never ever take a lack of indication to mean anything
#3 running into the back of someone is always your fault
obv happy you escaped it without personal damage other than to your wallet

Main didnt go well tonight........ several times. Tried to be aggressive to build a stack... wasnt to be my night. Ran A4 into AQ on AQ4 flop. K10 got done by 43s on Ks 10s x flop. KQ got done by 109 after KQ4 flop brought a J turn. Ran like rubbish in summary! Probably didnt play too well either but luck definitely wasnt on my side tonight.
Oh and mini first hand started QQ v AA v 33 AIP. That really set the tone for the mini too.
No cashes.
The downside of Rebuys is that they can cost way more ££££££££££ than you intended. Woops.
I've been playing a bit like a moron today too.
However a 7 hour day of poker culminates in 42p profit.

Anyway I had deep runs in the main and mini tonight but couldnt capitalise with a decent cash. However cash tables today has been very good and I can report near enough a +£500 day almost entirely thanks to 50nl.
In fact most of it was on a single table I was playing earlier where I left after a couple of hours with a stack of £480. Must be some sort of record
