Best of luck to everyone in front of camera and behind it tonight.
You maybe reading messages out all night at this rate Anna.
Some quick fire memories from myself out of the hundreds that I have after watching the shows over all these years....
The Sky Poker 'Club' on 865 with Dan & Matt.
All the 'My name is'....(special mention for OnlyoneCT - you were a star Craig)
The natural chemistry between all the presenters and analysts over the many shows, and the interaction of humour which made viewing very enjoyable.
The involvement of the community throughout the shows, which as a long time contributer, will be greatly missed.
A personnel favourite memory of mine is when I somehow fluked R/U in the primo many moons ago and there was a whole hour show hosted by Tikay showing the highlights.
I am only going to see the 1st hour of tonight's show so wish you both well and all who have sailed in the good ship Sky Poker TV channel.
I have racked my brain today to try and come up with my favourite memory/program on 865/1, but it's a bit like picking your favourite child. They are all precious!!
If i'm pushed tho, it would have to be the evening I discovered 865, by accident. It was almost exactly 4 years ago. I had just arrived back from my dads funeral in Ireland and was randomly flicking thru the channels when 865 popped up. I had never played or interested in poker BUT my dad was a poker addict all his life even before it became popular. When i was growing up there was a "home game" every Friday night. It therefore seemed inevitable that at his wake there would poker. In fact there were quite a few "poker schools" where his mates had a lot of fun with some serious cash flying around, plus a few fists I'm afraid to say.
So it did seem odd when on my return home I happened on 865 and saw a poker table pop up! I took it as a sign that I should look into this poker game a bit further. It was a life changing experience if I'm honest and I'm still here.... still learning....
The presenter that night? An old guy with white hair who "seemed" quite knowledgable about the game. Think his name was Tony Kinder? Wonder where he is now? ;-))
Memories light the corners of my mind Misty water-colored memories of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were.
Can it be that it was all so simple then Or has time rewritten every line If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we, could we
Memories may be beautiful and yet What's too painful to remember we simply choose to forget So it's the laughter we will remember Whenever we remember the way we were.
I was watching 861 long before i was playing on the site. It just felt like the best place to watch REAL poker. I mean watching a High roller events with all those multi level thinking players, and instead you'd be watching hands play out as they would at your local casino. Sky Poker always made poker seem accessible rather than only available to those with very deep pockets.
Favourites, most everybody to be honest, but have to say I've missed Sarah Champion and her Mrs Krabapple laugh, "HA !"
On a personal note, always loved having my hands analysed, and having Sam Razavi and Carlo Citrone call in my straight flush where i had 8h8d, my opponent 77, the board coming 7c7d9d, turn 6d, river 10d !! That was brilliant.
Think there has been a strange symmetry going on this week with the last LIVE covered Roller being won by Andrew1947 and Orford, who went into negative money the first night he ever played on sky Poker, this week, in the last week of 861, binking the £55 BH, and finally reaching the heady heights of profit !
Hope the future Sky Tv hits the height of the past, and BRING BACK SPT s !!
Good evening Mrs Fowler and Sir Tikay. You will be sorely missed, hope to see you both in the £2.20 @2.20 deepstack in the near future. My favourite memory from the show will be Mrs Fowlers glasses. Thank you for making poker even more enjoyable . All the best for the future. All the best. Rainman397. p.s would it be possible to give one last shout out for the £2.20 @2.20 DEEPSTACK
I'm sure Sky Poker will find some way of filling at least some of the gap that is now left in many people's poker lives.
Thanks to all the presenters for being thoroughly entertaining and the experts for educating the many of us that had little or no idea of how to play before we stumbled into channel 865. I still have no idea but I can't blame you guys for that!
I'm certain that you will all go on to bigger and better things and wish you the all the best for the future.
Hopefully Tikay will still grace us with his presence now and again on the PLO8 tables where, of course, Anna would be more than welcome if she decided to pop by.
To quote the recently departed Leonard Nimoy 'live long and prosper'.
We sadly won't be watching tonight, as we're on our way to Malta (there's some sort of festival going on ... Some kind of UKPC wannabee I assume). But we've Sky+ the show and are going to keep it forever!
What can we say about 861. This is a very sad end to a wonderful era. I can't even begin to rank the best bits; far too many. I shall miss the abuse from Orford and Tikay tho, and shall always be grateful to the girls for sticking up for me!
The Boy and I were unbelievably lucky to be guests on the show and we loved it very much. Seeing first hand the care, skill and professionalism that the crew put into that show leaves me in no doubt that the future of Sky Poker TV is in very safe hands.
My favourite moment has to be Blandie kicking a penguin across the studio during snow week... Whoever put him in front of the cameras that night was a genius
Thanks to everyone throughout the years both front of house and behind the scenes for thousands of live hours worth of pokertainment... I might actually get something done now!
And if I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening and goodnight
In Response to Re: Thursday Night Live on CH861 Celebration of all things 861 with Fowler and Mr Kendall 7pm -midnight ****official show thread*** : i hope so. it is the right thing. he was/is the most brilliant presenter. Posted by aussie09
Yes, agreed, however he is unavailable tonight - or we thought he was.
Some arrangements have been made to try to include Richard in the Show. Ish.
Unlike some of my show posts this one contains no tall tales so feel free to ignore it :-)
I started watching Sky Poker just under 4 years ago. My head was in a very bad place after my girlfriend had died and I was flipping through the channels as you do and I stumbled across a poker program. My first thought was hasn't Richard Bacon let himself go. My second one was to settle down and watch it a bit. Then something unusual happened. For the first time in a few months I laughed on my own watching you. It made me feel human again and after a couple of shows I decided to start playing again. Channel 865/861 has been one of my main viewing channels ever since. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I owe you several.
I'm out tonight but have got the show on record to watch tomorrow. Good luck to everyone behind and infront of the camera and goodbye.
Now its the last show is Tikay going to admit that Richard Orford is a poker genius as he displayed last night. Will miss the show immensely poker will not be the same with out it.
Just to say thank you to TK Anna Rich Ryan Neil etc. For the enjoyment you have given me over the years with the interactive banter over the years, it was that combined with the great community spirit which endeared me to Sky Poker. As for what happens next we shall have to wait and see. I shall try it first though before deciding on what I will do. My best moment on Sky poker for me would be back in 2007 when I was on the show as a guest in Saturday night Invite, and I opened up the show with the introduction.
i started this some time ago & feel privileged that so many others have joined in. Even Neil Channing has joined in tonight. I feel like a trend setter!
My personal favourite was a show with tonight's team when Rob Yong was the guest & asked what you would call a poker club if you owned one. I listed a number of suggestions including one which had a double meaning which Anna read out. Rob Yong fell off his chair laughing, Tikay chuckled like a schoolboy and Anna hid behind her iPad to hide her embarrassment.
I hope you have forgiven me now.
I managed to get Sarah to read out a different double entendre three time.
I have loved SKY Poker since the early days & watch every show, either live or I record it. From the early days of Helen Chamberlain, Norman Pace & Michelle Orpe through Kara Scott, Lisa Marie Long, Trevor Harris, Ed Giddins, James Hartigan, Carlo Citrone, Sarah Champion to our current team.
I thought about my favourites and have to say that I have loved just about every combination. Each combination gives a different slant to the show giving variety. The extra depth of analysis from Ryan & Stuart, the lighter analysis of Jen and the fun of Tikay.
The presenters all add their own thing but they all add something to the show.
Hi Annywanny and Teekles - 10 secs in great show so far I have not shed a tear yet. A sad day indeed but determined to enjoy every moment of our last 5 hour live show. Cannot even attempt humor with the comp best I can muster is - RicOrford disagrees that Sky Poker Schooldays are the best days of your life
I just want to thank all of the presenters and analysts for all of the entertainment over the years. You will be sorely missed.
As for my highlights from the shows, there are too many to mention, but one does stand out for me, and that was when Anna was "singing" our poker Christmas Carols, it was one of the most hilarious shows I have seen, and highlights why 861 is so special. I mean where else could you pen a song, and watch it being performed on Live TV less than an hour later.
You guys have made it a pleasure to learn about the wonderful game of poker, without your insight, I reckon a vast majority of us would not be the players we are today.
Goodbye, goodbye, Wipe the tear, baby dear, from your eye, Though it's hard to part I know, I'll be tickled to death to go. Don't cry, don't sigh, There's a silver lining in the sky, Bon soir old thing, Cheerio, chin-chin, Napoo, toodle-oo, goodbye.
It's at times like these that you realise, throughout your life, there a common interests that bring a group of friends together. But as soon as those good times start, they are already ending. It is as unstoppable as the tide. And when the good times do end, will you ever see those friends again. Will they have changed ? Will they remember you ? Can that friendship ever be then same again ? Only time will tell, and that, all too soon, is running out.

We've been so fortunate to share some great moments and so much laughter.
My personal favourite was making a comment for a competition
About six scotsmen sat round a table playing the beautiful game and asking would that be called "full kilt poker"?
Unfortunately I added a contentious comment so It wasn't read out but I did hear Tikay chuckle when he read it!
You've all been so wonderful I only hope your paths lead to bigger and better thing in Poker and on TV!
The show's, laughter and personalities will be sorely missed

The mug too upset to post
but might feel better if you can put me in the draw
p s will miss the best comedy duo tikay & orford
i hope so. it is the right thing.
he was/is the most brilliant presenter.
Richard's wife gave birth
Carlo began his affair with tanning fluid
Hartigan got his dream job and eventually predicted the correct result of an NFL game
Ryan got teeth
It's such a shame we missed Tikay's 100th birthday before the shows finished (Not by much though)
But so many great moments!
I can't imagine how many Sky plus's are going to burst into life at 7!!!
Have a great show guys & Gals

I thank you
anna,
bambi's mum is dead
Surely then the caption should be
"Richard's career was going down the toilet until he met the master
now he's flushed with success"
To make Anna cry.....I have your shoes, ransom is a smile
Great 8 years.....will miss ya! Come back bigger!
