    Stake: 4NL/8NL depending

BR: £81 (+81 overall, -29 for the week)

Goal: Build a solid bankroll to about 200, before moving up the stakes. Playing DYM STT's whilst my play is going bad to limit the damage. As for my game perhaps being more aggressive when betting as it has cost me by losing always to the river card

20NL and your bankroll is £10? That's not even 1 buyin. Enjoy going busto!

    nice thread mate...

    Your stake:
    dym (3.30 or 5.50) cash (4NL)

    BR:
    £303.50

Goals (Short term & Long term)
Reach 10NL any time this year

    Plan of attack
lean towards cash tables and grind away on 3 tables rather than dym... play for like a month and see if im winning then if so move up to 8NL and so on until 10NL.

Gavin its nice to see your so confident in your abilities but constructively I would suggest starting lower I converted 10 into 100 in just over a week in just the 8NL let alone the 20NL but also you gotta be aware playing high tables with a low BR that when you get them bad beats its gonne be harder to pick yourself up cause you are chancing losing the lot in one go.

Also consider STT's DYM's cause they are beneficial for starting out BR cost little win is yes little but little and often is better than bust in my opinion.

He has almost 5 buy ins... if he wants to play cash then at least thats not too bad.
  • edited January 2010

He's not planning to build a bankroll. He's gambling.. Good luck to him

Wrong thread Gavin..... this is out and out gambling/spinning up, not bankroll building.

You should start a 'degen spinup' thread ;)
    You're currently under-rolled for 1p/2p nl

    Afternoon session...ran good again

    BR NL4: £70.52 (+£9.50)

Its not that i started with £10 as my bankroll, im always withdrawing my money, i start with a small amount and build it up, works everytime, i play better when im under a tough challenge, i have enough money in my poker bank account to start with a bigger bank roll but like i said i enjoy the challenge

    +5.5
today... strange day... lost 4 with OESFD v top pair, then grind it up to about 6.50+ then play poorly andd run into flush over flush and set v flush and lose a quid overall... bit up and down so quite disappointed with todays performance.

    starting BR again...

    Stake: 0.05/0.1p

BR: £113 (+93 for the week)

Goals: b up 1 buyin a day, sustainable? prob not....reach .10/.20 by end of the month

Plan: roll up 20-25 BI for 0.05/0.1, then start taking shots at .10/.20, then repeat, drop down a stake if i go beneath 20 BI's...hopefully i wont hit a wall by the time i reach .20/.40 again....lol 4th time im doing this, and i always hit that wall :-(

    countdown to busto....

Sikas - u should really be at 20buyins for nl20 before u move up, not the other way round.

Don't worry about it Blackfish. You cant run hot all the time. Keep grinding and better luck today. Let us know how you've done at the end of the day. Maybe £350!!!!

Theres absolutely no need for 20 buy ins at NL20 surely?? 400 quid and only risking 20 of it? (that means u have to make 20 HUGE mistakes, or suffer 20 sik outdraws/cold decks, in a row, without being on the right end of a single 1....)

This isnt having a go at thread btw, its a gud idea, and actually interesting reading up on how people are doing, Especially with this total player bootcamp, bankroll challenge coming up, its an issue in the spotlight atm, but even in this challenge, players are given 500 and asked to play 3 hours of at least NL50, thats 10 buy ins, thats alot more like it.

The games at NL10 and NL20 arent a much different in genral, there are a few better players who everyone knows, hence they r easy to avoid with basic table selection. The buy in is the same anyway innit?

  • edited January 2010
DOHHH - Yes it's extremely hard to go broke when you only risk 5% of your bankroll, thats why the strategy is so effective. You aren't playing with scared money as it's not devastating when you lose a buyin.

This method also means when/if you lose 10buyins you can drop down a level and be rolled for 20 buyins of the previous level.

    Also - 1 buyin is considered 100bb
