Won the speed this evening, so there's your extra £10 Graham. Cheers Matt Posted by mattprawn
Great stuff Matt. Congrats on being the player to take us to the £2K mark! Well done. (Opening post spreadsheets updated)
Thanks to all who have supported. Last year we collected a total of £4,188. It would be great if we could surpass that this year. Although clearly that will be a tough target.
Thanks again to all involved.
All the best,
Graham
P.S. Aussie, we have had £570 in sponsorship so far. Can this be added to your charity webpage as we did last year, under donations from FOSP? This should then show the £2K total.

yes, i will add that to the webpage from tomorrow morning.
OK at 00:05am today, I wind up number one son (Limp2Lose) that I have now gone ahead of him in the "Tournament Wins" comp after I got lucky to win the Speed.
At 00:30am he notifies me that he has won the 9pm and now has a one point lead over me.
So my bragging rights lasted all of 25 minutes. What makes it worse is that he mainly plays cash nowadays, with tournaments on the side. :=(
Anyhow £20 to the charities, courtesy of a fortuitous father and son double. Well played Gary!
Although it has to be said, that the name "CARTER" is sadly lacking on the main Tournament Leader Board table.:=(
So very nearly had my first win to post last night, but had to settle for silver medal Some excellent results so far his year. Keep it up guys!!! Posted by Bromley023
i was watching, nat. unlucky. you had it, then you didn't. still, if you have to come second the best place is the main event. wpwp.

VWP Natalie, and unlucky not to get the win. Still a nice cash though.

Thanks mate
It was an epic HU battle that lasted 2 hours! We didn't finish until 02:45am. I was pretty exchausted at the end of it.
Still, like you say, it's not a bad life to get a second place and a decent cash!
It appears since his Super Roller heroics, Danny has won another £55 Speed BH.
This additional point, now ties him for the lead in the "Tournament Wins" comp, with Jordz on 32pts, with MattBates looming in 3rd place, just one point behind the two leaders.
Just crossed referenced my spreadsheet with Aussie09's and there has been a Speed win for GSmith13 and three wins (another mini, and two 9pm BH's) for Devil_Tear.
Well done Gareth and especially well done Tim. These 4 wins take us to £2,200 in pledges. Many thanks.
I will update the opening post spreadsheets on 1st June.
Gret news Graham. This is my first year joining the charity comp, and i can say for myself its definately given my game more of a sense of purpose. I would definately encourage others to get involved, whether you make 30k on Sky, or £30.

Thanks for this Tim, you are a great addition to the team, and we are glad to have you on board!
Following on from MonkeyGLB getting on the scoreboard with a Mini win, Solack has won a £55 BH. rspca12 has won a M/E and I have manage to win a £55 BH and a Speed, taking the total pledged to £2,290.
I will update the opening post on 1st July, when we are half way through the year.
We are now half way through the year and there has been a change of guard at the top. Thanks to Matt Bates's Super Roller win last Sunday, he has now replaced Danny Grogan at the top of the leader board, albeit only just.
These two players are also 1st and 3rd in the Tournament Wins comp, with Jordan S-Jones separating the two.
I'm sure both these guys will be relishing the challenge ahead, will youth prevail over experience or visa versa?
Also doing very well are newcomers Matt Tranter (DustoLucko), and Tim Murphy (devil_tear) who along with Sky Poker stalwart, David Watkins (Wacko90), are pressing the leaders.
It also would be remiss of me not to mention my son Gary Carter (Limp2Lose), who despite mainly being a cash player now days, has managed to get himself onto the TLB despite playing less volume than most of his fellow competitors, so well done G.
Last years winner Gareth Smith has not put so much volume in either this year, but is still doing very creditably in mid division. He is out in Vegas atm, and along with, Matt Prawn, Chris Cunliffe and Matt Tranter will be representing Sky out there.
I'm sure you'll join me in wishing them all the best. Also the Bromley's are both out there at the moment and they have been great supporters of this, so all the best to you too guys.
Last year Gareth Smith came from well of the pace to prevail in the end, mainly due to winning two UKOPS High Rollers, will 2016 offer a similar twist, or will it be a slug fest between Matt and Danny?
Good luck all!
A few statistics.
Firstly £2,300 has been pledged. Many thanks. The top 3 players for profit in MTT's on Sharkscope are all involved in this initiative. We have 10 players in the top 30 who are in excess of $180K combined profit. In addition to the £50 each competitor pledges, a further £880 has been pledged through tournament wins. (This is significantly higher than this time last year) We have £570 in sponsorship pledges, this is significantly down on last year, so hopefully we can make some late ground here. Thanks again to both new and repeat sponsors, much appreciated.
If you would like to sponsor us, please post on this thread. There will be a heads up competition open to sponsors and competitors alike, with a fully engraved trophy and replica to keep. So any future sponsors would be more than welcome to participate.
