In 1986/87, Tranmere goalkeeper Eric Nixon became the first player to play in all four divisions of the Football League in the same season. Although registered with Manchester City, he played 44 games while on loan at Wolves, Southampton, Bradford City and Carlisle United In Response to Re: saras sports quiz:
Did emilyeggs q? ever get answered... To play for more than two teams in one season is not permitted any more (I believe), but there has been TWO players who have played in all four English divisions in a single season.......Name them. Was Pollitt correct?.... and the other a small centre forward perhaps? Posted by HITMAN_RV
In Response to Re: saras sports quiz : Must be the Arsenal boys. Lee Dixon, Tony Adams and Steve Bould. Surely Nigel Winterburn won them both as well? Posted by Quagmire72
Yeah.. didn't Cantona aswell, maybe Batty with Leeds and Blackburn?
In Response to Re: saras sports quiz : Cantona and Batty right the other one wasn't an arsenal player though Posted by slump0406
I googled Batty after and it said he refused his winners medal at Blackburn because he only played 5 games through injury and didnt feel he deserved it
