hehe dylan i was complimenting you on your goalkeeping agility honest

    Dear Mr Hoggplopdonkfish

The SPT is returning to Glasgow in October. You have been offered a free buy-in but only if you stay 2-nights at the -5-star EPAT Hotel. What would Hoggers do?

Check in at the Marriot across the river...

Kidnap Daveyzz, steal his clothes and his secrets on how to play poker. Keep him at the Etap in a locked room while i play the SPT as Daveyzz.

Ok there is an obvious height and hair difference but i could do a convincing impression im sure.

Take down the event, win 4k, and split it with Daveyzz to keep him quiet about his ordeal

2k in the bag, and a comfy stay at the posh Marriot. Anything to avoid the Etap.

    Inspired!

Loving this thread Greg, we're getting T-Shirts for Nottingham I think..

    Dear Mr H

My girlfriend is presently ill in bed with with a touch of tummy trouble.  I'm not sure whether to play SnGs or MTTs and go in and check on her during the breaks or play cash so I can sit out at any moment should she call me.  WWHD?

    Dear Mr D

Hogg would shut the bedroom door, shut the PC room door, put headphones on with extra loud music, and multi table whatever games i wanted.

best of luck with this approach, lol

    Hi Vince

A backraise is a raise in which a player flat calls, a player behind him raises, and the first player reraises

A standard example is a limp utg with AA or KK. It can be used to trap agrodonks who raise on the button whenever there are limpers. It can also be used as an advanced bluff.

I know you know this, i just cant think of anything silly to say, so you got a sensible answer

I went all in preflop with AA and got called by 7,2 and lost, how could I play this different?
  • edited June 2010

NICE thread Hoggeers, well done. The Forum is desperate for more fun threads.

I will arrange for you to have free entry into Friday's T-o-T Tourney by way of thanks.*

    * I know it clashes with the England match, but my Tourney does not begin until 8.30pm, & the structure is uber-slow, so you can sit-out until it's over & still have a playable stack. It's a Rebuy, but play it as a Freezeout, the structure is very playable as a Freezeout.

    Good Luck, & thank you.

    hi fishyflush,

    thank you for your question

I would like to know stack sizes, situation, read on opponant, colour of poker chips, type of dealer (brunette blonde or redhead?)

These factors are vital when deciding whether to play AA. sometimes a fold is the best option:)

    better luck next time

    P.S was it Dav1964?:)

    Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmm

As i don't have children, i have to go back to when i was a teenage girl:)

I wanted expensive jewellery, expensive clothes, expensive shoes, and expensive make-up

So, my advice would be to get an extra 12 credit cards, remortgage the house, win the Euromillions, and then, only then, take her shopping. Its far to risky otherwise.

    good luck!

    Dear Hoggmaster,
My little boy came out of school today and told me "Bradleys cat had kittens and after it had kittens this red stuff came out and Crystal ate it!"
My question is how do I explain what a placenta is and why the cat ate it?

Ok, this is a difficult one... Thank you for your question Bananadog.

Firstly, not being a cat owner, i needed to understand kitten birth fully, so i googled it and got this:

"Note that the mother normally eats the placenta. It is full of hormones and nutrients that need to be returned to her body so do not interfere in this process - just be sure she doesn't try to eat the kitten with it out of lack of experience. You may want to let her eat the first two or three placentas and then take away the rest, as too many of the nutrients can cause diarrhea or vomiting."

Ok now to explain this to a small child.

    I would say something like...

The food that the mummy cat ate was keeping her kittens safe in her tummy. Mummy cats are very hungry after they have had their kittens..

    Hope this helps

    Hoggers

Who do u feel will be the stand out in this year's ME of the WSOP for worst attire?

    * Although the deckchair look from a few years ago will never be replicated!

** By using the word 'worst' in the question, I do realise that to certain deckchair-style, wearing Sky players it may be seen as 'best'!

When I flop top set on a straightening and flushing board against 9 opponents and check flop and turn before going all-in on the river after both the straight and flush have hit, should I:

    a) call my opponent a fish
    b) call my opponent a donkey
    c) call my opponent a muppet
    d) create a thread on the forum claiming that Sky Poker is rigged
    e) create a thread in "The Poker Clinic" and whine about my misfortune
    f) threaten to leave Sky Poker and never play here again (until tomorrow)
    g) threaten to contact the Alderney Gambling Control Commission to complain about the site
    h) all of the above
    i) check when my psychiatrist is next available?

    Sorry Machka

A little late for breakfast now, but i hope you have not been waiting all day for my answer!...

Out of the two options, it has to be Cornflakes because i was forced to eat Wheetabix every day of my childhood from 5 to 15, and i hated it. It tasted like soggy cardboard.

Do you feel that some poker players go over the top with regard to what they perceive as massive slights when, in fact, they are merely minor irritations? Do you consider that some poker players like to imbue the game with a made-up "code of ethics" because, sub-consciously, they feel that they are merely reprobates playing a gambling game upon which they wish to bestow an acceptable veneer?
Do these players create these "unwritten rules" so that they can feel superior to other players that do not abide by the same ethics?
Are these "rules" merely a modified version of "honour amongst thieves"?

Would you get overly upset if someone slow-rolled you or "hit & run"? Also, would you refuse to play someone who brings a short-stack to a heads-up table where you have bought in for the full amount?
