But despite all your concerns about how sites are doing this you've been running at least 6 poker accounts?

Isn't that tampering with the US mail and therefore also a federal offence?

It's the USA they make the rules up as they go along, look at the invasion of Iraq.
  • edited April 2011
That was a liberation not an invasion.

    Same difference like.

Isn't there a difference between The US Postal System and DHL?

It's a bit like comparing The Royal Mail with The Home Delivery Network.  i.e. Once loses 1/6th of all mail and accidentally delivers empty birthday cards.  The other only delivers when you are guaranteed not to be at home.

Anyway, it's Fed Ex the US should be worried about.  It's got "Fed"(s) in the name, even I can see that one.

I'll get my coat and pop over to Area 51 now.

Yeah understand that, thanks. but my understanding was that you could only get this when you initially signed up for the a/c, and if you get rakeback then you aren't entitled to bonus points etc.   Its just I've always been curious why on pokertableratings/listings they have a column showing how much you've received... when actually you haven't because you didn't register for it.
  • edited April 2011
that is just because they assume you will have it, they have no knowledge whether you do or you dont, its just showing you how much you should have received if you do have it.

well i took advantage of pokerstars this morning with no american players a $16.50 turbo 3.5k gtd binked 2nd for $979 now i feel dead won't be playing again till the weekend..... also with regarding RB on tilt you are still able to get it after you register your account by emailing support and explaining that you would like rake back which then gets paid to you weekly

I have to agree with elsadog surprisingly.

With all the talk out there about online corruption this matter hardly helps things.  There seems to be a point of view though that it is ok, as it was just the federal government these multi billion dollar companies have been ripping off, rather than its consumer base.

I think if a person chooses to look between the lines of this most recent scandal there is much to be seen.  I think that anyone believing that this is the only integral underhand element that these companies are capable of, then they really are looking through rose tinted glasses

i know its terrible right? companies using whatever methods neccessary to make sure money gets to the players bank accounts.

So you think the ends justify the means?  That its ok to extend your business model to circumvent federal law.  Should a reputable business need to take those convoluted steps to begin with?

I dont know how people can simply rationalise these issues away. Were talking of fraud on a huge scale, but they had good intentions so its ok?  Who do you really think those intentions served?

Victoria Corens take on it all from todays column in the Guardian-
"The big Sunday tournaments online were busy this week, despite the ghostly disappearance of American players. Some sort of clampdown is going on in the States over online poker – nobody yet understands exactly what it is, so I have no analysis"
does she not read the news?

She's probably not allowed to say too much being under contract with one of those sites.

Of course you should 'have to' sign up.
You pay a rake on every site you play on.  It just so happens that some sites give some of that rake back to companies (affiliates) who send them a lot of members.  Some of this gets sent from the affiliate back to the player as an incentive to keep playing

    Affiliates AFAIK make millions

Yes, the system was designed to rip you off, all that money, all those systems, just to get YOUR money.  Heh

Your money is gone, AP wont be giving a penny out.  I am surprised some people still played it though after previous issues.

So THEN my question is how do i get  monies back and time well spent for playing on the site??? 4 years on and off playing ,.....what can i do??bring civil action against them or what?it has been noted in the past i can bring a civil action case but they dont seem too bothered  by it and tbh i dont need the hassle with it all.....

WHy have they not apologised in any case for what seem like purposely stonewalling the gp? and of course u then get the top leading pros walk off the site and do a runner for what seems like they already knew about what was going to happen, all that stuff about harddrive loss of data nonsense too i find someone is not telling the whole truth......i complained over my doc31  account and they just close accunts down because they said i was "quote"  A PROBLEM CUSTOMER" UNQUOTE.........SUCH BS in its entirety ,now i relaise i wasnt going to win what i had played for to win  and thier false advertising for the WSOP and a lot of games I played under reletavely speaking was a fale trojan and someone talking out their   rear end!!! when in fact I had no such chance to win anything of anything on those sites,........

AND FULLTILT POKER VERY MUCH ON THE SAME LEVEL/. over and out,.!!!!

this affiliate company bullcrapp should be balsted off into orbit.! that  smoney revenue  for some one who has no commercial need to  get involved with any of the poker sites...they have no right in making money from players moreover if they sign though a diff weblink......

there should be none affiliate  involvement !it should be all on accounts with pure poker sites only not though some random hosted affiliate site that just get %of whatever monies from sites or players...Who are all these  affiliate companys involved?? Is this in the terms and conditons of the sign up contract with  the big poker sites?

Mr white ,someone obviously knows how to make money for these sites whether its some chinese dos program
for   companys to utilise for thier benifit or what makes me more angry is the fact that some  sites likeabsolute poker hold thier servers in different college institutions , huh well u didnt think the networks were on the level .
dont know why but the network servers are all from like college places.
