First one never got going, 2400 @ 300/600 blinds and im the shorty. Shove KQ, into QQ.
Other one, 2 shortys i get AQ on SB shorrty on BB so i shove, He calls 44. Lose a flip. Very next hand 88 v A8 flop brings an ace. Sometimes its just not meant to be
Gonna do some dyms. Finding NL4 alot harder than i should of late. Disipline has been effected. Curious though as advice My BR allows me 20BIs for £3.30 which is more than sustainable. However ive always felt more comfortable at £5.50 which it could support but not much room for margin for error. I curious as to what people think is best. I will be 2 tabling them, as ive found 4x Dyms at once just isnt profitable for me as usually i cant cash in all 4 in a go. 3 usually but if im out of one early the pressure of needing to cash in the other 3 to make a profit effects my game and i become Overly nitty. In Response to Re: New BR challenge - Back on track : Yea know the feeling. Just bumping into the regs frequently doesnt help. Night last few days certianly showing to me that theres been very little value at NL4, which is kind of weird. Since that update all in finding are decent regs who wont stack off light. I blame Dohhhh and his guide lol. Posted by The_Don90
Turning a worthwhile profit from NL4 on a consistent basis is harder than some ppl think imo
This is seriously getting frustrating YET another losing session whrre i play welll

Had enough now tbh. Im not getting any sort of profit. and its not just one hand clearly as seen above, its a series of hands and im losing little amounts at once. Really dont know what im doing wrong. Playing simple ABC poker, get outdrawn consistantly, not hitting draws myself and its those hands that causing the profits and losses to be so great.
First hand with KJ, I think you can safely bet/fold that river. He shouldn't have many aces and he will pay a bet if he flopped top pair. Wd c betting with equity though, and you made a value hand on the turn. wp. Hand 2 with AK, wp, - never say u run bad again. Hand three, ul. Keep grinding. Play more tables, play for longer. Posted by DOHHHHHHH
JJ the problem isnt in the above 3 hands. All are standard i think. The problem is that im losing other hands. Ill see if i can find examples.
Heres my only other winning hand above 50p AGAIN STANDARD

Ok again i think standard. But would value opinions as these are the types of hands that are costing me long term. P.S bar the set over set thats all my losing handa above 50p and i was £3.50 up at one point so where the deuce have i lost the other £3.50.
u shud b able to make £20-£40 a day easy from these, but don't focus on ur mini session results, play 4 at a time, dnt tilt if u crash out of the 1st one, goin 2/4 is ok coz ur av mini sessions where u go 4/4. the worst thing u can do is change ur style just because uv crashed out of one early. infact don't even view it like that, if ur gonna play for 2/3/4 hrs then just load up a new one as soon as u finish one, and only check ur balance at d end
From a few hands I've seen here you're C-betting WAY too often imo and then like the 10's calling a reraise, WTF are you hoping for? Really I would say just tighten up a LOT.
Also above HU STT you shove 1400 at 25/50 into a 10 BB stack who whatever he calls with will be ahead of you and you're giving him a freebie.
Then 65s hand you limp in, should just fold or raise yourself certainly don't limp call. When he bets an awful 50 just call with the right odds why do you need to shove ?
NO ,im not taking it ,NO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,2P 4P cash ,,,,,,,,,,,,,u come on here ,want staking for cardiff .......................not having it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NOT HAVING IT

In this hand i shoved to apply pressure. i think i fold out alot of Qx/Jx/Tx hands, and if he calls i likley have 2 live cards.
Yes applying pressure is fine but when you have a 3-1 chip lead for me it's just about waiting for a hand where you pretty much know you're ahead, shoving with 89 just seems very gambly to me.

maybe ur right, HU aggression comes into the game more, by giving him free walks on the BB im allowing him back into the game and it costs me more if i do double him up. 89 is a reasonable hand HU, and i cant raise fold so therefore i put him to the desision and i think he folds better
Seriously tilted right now so anything in this post that comes across as peeved off probably is but nothing meant by it.
Took on some advice, and i 6 tabled NL4. Using a tight range, calling with PPs or SC if the price was good. Results below.
Hands won over 50p.

Seriously, im not meaning to sound harsh. People who say NL4 is easy to beat go grind it out for a few days. I know Dohhhh done 9 tables for an hour an posted up a review. Sorry JJ but its not enough game time IMHO, yes alot of the points you made are valid and most of them useful, but really at the end of the day, its clear to me that you need to be a luckbox to beat this level. So far today im down nearly £20, a good chunk (all actually bar £6 and i won £3 back in HUs, so thats £17) has came from NL4.
Now ive competed at higher levels, ive beaten better players than the ones im playing. Im making money nearly everywhere else, yet i can't beat NL4. Something just doesnt smell right. Anyways Rant is over.
calling the flop raise with TT is bad unless you have reads and intend calling down a lot
shoving 98s pre when you have a big chip and skill advantage is bad. I dont see why you cant raise/fold small, even if you cant I prefer limping or folding in this spot
65s raise or fold pre, if you are going to limpcall anyway raising is much better imo. I dont see much reason to shove rather than call flop
the last ones are fine except Im not too sure about the AK one. I prob 4b/c pre, esp as you can isolate shorty, or I would consider folding to the 3bet. I dont see many reasons to flat
just gonna chuck something into the mix here don in your defence (prob gonna get shot down mind) have you thought about your style of play doesnt suit nl4. your a very agro player so if you lose you lose big.not all ob but a lot of players at this level wont give up on hands if they hit/have anything, and i think its costing you. i wont play nl4 not because i am a poker snob but because it would bake my head the way it plays out. ive played a lot against you and you are good enough to make good money at nl20/30(if i can ,you certainly can). play your own game don, dont get too caught up on the "am i playing it right or wrong" gl phil

i actually say the same countless times. I said it to dohhh the other day, to even get close to winning at NL4 im playing a game so different from my natural game. However im just not rolled for NL20/30
Another annoying 6 table session. Still finding 6 tables is not enough to keep my range tight enough but not really rolled to do any more. Although this was frustrating session, it was slightly profitable. Although feeling tilted, understandable when you consider the last hand i played, expessially when i was playing like a rock..

Frustrating when your crushing and winning, clearly abit up to still be £5 up after losing that last pot and then it hits you like that. However lots of positives to take from the session and confidence slowly comming back. I think 6 tables certainly is helping, once i add a few more BIs to my roll i may actually add more as i felt comfortable and was still playing slightly looser than i could have. Rekon i still need to cut a few needless hands out. With only one losing hand above £1 aswell, although its a big one, its an improvement on recent sessions where ive had a good number.
nice tournie bink. it seems like ur tilting. don't play cash at all tomorrow. if you wanna play try a couple of small stakes tournies? Posted by scotty77
Yea i was tilting a little came straight off the tables after that QQ hand and posted up, usually my posts a little ratty after a bad beat. chilled out abit now. Tournies are where im most comfortable i have to admit, i just dont have the roll to support them, as i find them pretty addicting. Although ive made a little deal with myself, if i can win 4 or more BIs in a day ill treat myself to an MTT of 2.30 - 5.50 depending on whats on at the time. this would still leave me in profit if i dont cash and a nice little bonus if i do.
i have mellowed down abit, found the last few days really hard and difficult tbh, however with more tables loaded im feeling a bit better about it all, and i think the last update i made shows it. One bad beat (can i have call it a bad beat all the money went in i was behind) and i came off the tables as i didnt feel upto playing. I think thats the disipline I need to improve if im ever to stop tilting and maybe even start winning again.
Ty for the comment though. im glad its not only me thats noticing.
Got a quick 45 mins as i couldnt sleep. Would probably have played alot longer as there was alot of value on the tables tonight, mixed with a good few sharks. However im getting better at this isolate the fish and dont face the reg stuff. Which is good. What i found difficult in this session and the reason why im stopping is im finding 6 tables as close to ideal as possible. However looking at NL4 lobby, I was getting 3 tables with good value on it, with a single reg to boot, then 3 others that either 3 regs on the table which isnt ideal when your playing ABC poker, or the max stack on the table was £1.04 which is horrible. You think YEY my aces held, oh for the love of god after rake i win less than a quid.
On the whole though i think i am getting better im more disipled and quitting when i tilted today returning when ive cooled off a little.,
Mini session results.

Played this one like a n00b really didnt feel right with the 8p bet on the flop, then im the clever guy who says ill check raise the turn with TPGK for info. I get my answer and still pay. Really disappointed with how i play this. The re-raise on turn is a huge message im behind. Played the whole hand badly tbh.
Closing Balance: £50.12
On the whole im feeling im picking up mistakes, improving disipline and improving my tilt situation all at once. Ive jotted up a BR management plan for the future that will be quite strict on myself, but with rewards for good sessions. Im still thinking about room for movement, although i will state is stricter than the one DOHHHHHH wrote as a guide for me in the clinic. Really think BRM has been a huge issue that ive not delt with properly.
Rewards that im including in my BRM play are basic stuff like a tournament entry with a % of my profit from a session (no more than 25%), attempt to get onto a mastercash table if the limits again dont hurt my roll too much. A night out, something which i never do anymore but think the odd one as a treat would be acceptable. Basic simple stuff these are just a few examples.
I know this means that im going to be at NL4 for even longer, if i ever reach my targets, but i think by taking that extra month or 2 @ NL4 i can play more tables, play a more comfortable roll which should in turn help my tilt. I know its usually been the beat thats effected me, but then ive never had a proper strong roll in which losing a BI or 2 doesnt effect. Moving back down the levels once ive moved up is something that haunts me. Its why i went bust that first roll i build because i simply refused to move back down the levels after a couple of bad sessions. Looking back at basic mistakes like that really have opened my eyes a little, playing this niggly little spew roll has taught me even more than a Bigger BR means more room for manuver.
if u cant beat nl4 then grind £3/£5 dyms u shud b able to make £20-£40 a day easy from these, but don't focus on ur mini session results, play 4 at a time, dnt tilt if u crash out of the 1st one, goin 2/4 is ok coz ur av mini sessions where u go 4/4. the worst thing u can do is change ur style just because uv crashed out of one early. infact don't even view it like that, if ur gonna play for 2/3/4 hrs then just load up a new one as soon as u finish one, and only check ur balance at d end Posted by SHANXTA
Got to agree with you Shanxta, if you can find a level of dym's that you can win an average of 2 out of 3, then you can definately boost your bankroll.
I think you're still being overly aggressive in some of your hands. In your first post last night you make a good reraise pre with JJ then cbet OOP on an ace high board very big at £1.29 I think this is too risky and would instead prefer a check.
The AK and AQ after it are really horrible coolers and you shouldn't be angry here but extremely happy with how you played it.
The 78s I would just fold pre, of course after flop it's another nasty beat.
And the AKs I'd be reraising pre and calling a shove.
Later in the 2nd post you limp on the button with AJ, I hope this was a misclick.
KK you playe better by checking the ace high flop then getting paid after but on turn half-pot bet is a little weak still.
JJ later on massive 88p raise pre and yet another strong cbet OOP, for me this is not an optimal play, yes it's weak to check fold but often they will check behind, by betting you can get raised and then lose more.
AQs you raise 6x then call off £2.61, not that sure on this one that's a pretty big bet to call off and I'd rather have at Least AK/JJ maybe 1010.

There aren't any sharks at this level.
Wd on getting back on track tho.
Another 2 x 2 hour 6 table grinds today if u have time.

Ill see what i can do. Gna watch the grand prix then gta go see a mate (promised them id go and see them the day i was at the SPT) so cant break a promise twice. Should get at least 1x2 hr 6 table session in.

Heres my only other winning hand above 50p AGAIN STANDARD
right so onto losing hands.

Anyways Rant is over.
shoving 98s pre when you have a big chip and skill advantage is bad. I dont see why you cant raise/fold small, even if you cant I prefer limping or folding in this spot
65s raise or fold pre, if you are going to limpcall anyway raising is much better imo. I dont see much reason to shove rather than call flop
On flop I m definitely not leading

Frustrating when your crushing and winning, clearly abit up to still be £5 up after losing that last pot and then it hits you like that. However lots of positives to take from the session and confidence slowly comming back. I think 6 tables certainly is helping, once i add a few more BIs to my roll i may actually add more as i felt comfortable and was still playing slightly looser than i could have. Rekon i still need to cut a few needless hands out. With only one losing hand above £1 aswell, although its a big one, its an improvement on recent sessions where ive had a good number.
i have mellowed down abit, found the last few days really hard and difficult tbh, however with more tables loaded im feeling a bit better about it all, and i think the last update i made shows it.
On the whole though i think i am getting better im more disipled and quitting when i tilted today returning when ive cooled off a little.,
Mini session results.

P.S. That was meant to say regs
