    Great going m8,

And here's me thinking I might not bump into you for a while. As if this game ain't hard enough without sitting on your table trying to get 1 of the other 2 seats to cash!!

    Nice work Ian :-)

    only a little session 2nite
very selective on £5.50 tables as so many good reg,s about.
lost my 1st game,so very happy with 2-1 win as it was as most of you know my 1st time playing £5.50,s.
ul on £3.30,s really, as i lost last 2 games.
    anyway,
    another W,so got 2b happy
    1st impressions from tonight are;
going to be tough from here on in
going to be bigger swings without doubt,as i thought
going to be happy playing shorter sessions, and take the Win & c4p,as i did tonight.

    still,happy days.....
    so far.   lol

Glad to see the roll shooting up!

I was grinding £5.50 DYMs last month and it definitely is harder than the lower levels. I haven't played any higher than this but I found that grinding £3.30 DYMs may be better than griding the £5.50 ones... although grinding a lot of the £5.50 ones can be good for points.

Anyway... you seem to be doing great ATM so keep it going! :)
  • edited May 2012
    hi El,
yes, have to agree with u about the £5.50,s being harder.
i think i will simply take each session as it comes & go from there.
    as i have planned this challenge around a 20 buy-in level step-up,
i guess i really should at least try & stick with it.
however i guess if a plan is not "going to plan"then a back up plan could come into operation.
that,s alot of "plans" btw.   lol
early days, but i really can,t see me playing anywhere near as many games @ £5.50
as there are just to many good reg,s to beat.
will hopefully like tonight pick out a few games here & there
and basically consentrate at the lower £3.30 level.
i think if i was to get back into playing dym,s seriously...again
i would be more than happy playing just £3 & £2 levels,
and probably just keep on increasing no. of tables asap.
    anyway,
have another go at them tomorrow.
    good luck El,
    :-)

ive was doing really well at them and even moved up to the £11 dyms i dont find them any harder but unfortuantely unless you are lucky along with playing well they really hurt a lot more and ive been having a really bad run last couple of days the levels do go higher and people end up shoving with rubbish and hit and then theres nothing you can do. So in that respect i guess they are a little harder as you dont get so many aggresive players knocking each other out early on.

    hi Daz,
sorry to hear about the bad run m8
hope it changes again soon 4u.
unfortunately Daz(nearly wrote dad by mistake...lol)
the luck element does come into play with dym,s.
so even if u r playing well u can still easily lose several buy-ins
    without doing alot wrong.
as i am on a good roll atm i don,t want to get to carried away with it

no worries Son i mean Devon lol the bad run ended fortunately it was on the £11 dym and lost 4 in a row which really hurt so i went back down to the £5 dym and got 9 in a row and a couple more streaks so got it back so im gonna stick to doing them and leave the £11 ones for now. I did get to the last 4 on all of the £11 ones and was chip leader unfortuantely everyone was low and levels were high and ended up having to call with premium hands against hands like J5off and they hit :( but i must say Friday nights are great on dym esp when all the drunks come home so give it a go around 11pm to midnight m8 and there easy peesy :)

Another thing i find helps aswell for some reason is when i see a regular player at the £5 level it helps the way the game plays as long as its just 1 reg rather than having 5 randoms. Do you have this experience aswell?
  • edited May 2012
wow your doing fantastic MR DF.. keep going!
  • edited May 2012
    hi Daz,
glad 2 hear u r back on track.
that was one of my concerns moving up to the £5 level,
losing say 5 or 6 in a row, knowing how much it would hurt me & my b/roll.
    fortunately,touch wood that,s not happened.
might give the later session a go nxt friday daz,
but as i normally start somewhere between 6 & 7pm
i,ve had enough by about 10pm.
also decided to play shorter sessions especially if i am winning
as that is my only reason for playing, even more so now i have this mission to complete.
tbh daz,the more randoms the better 4 me anyeay.
the only advantage having reg,s on your table would be that they understand the game better,ie
when someone is pushing all-in say on the button, they eren,t going to call you with kj 4 ex
    whereas a reg may do.
i have found that there are just so many reg,s anyway,i even had john connor at my £5 table y,day,
so u can,t help but play them most of the time.
    anyway,
another night coming up so lets see what that brings.
    chat soon m8.
    best wishes,

well my thinking behind having 2 regs at the table and how that helps is that you have 4 other players and if you have 2 that know what they are doing you both will be able to take out most rather than just doing it on your own a bit like 2 heads are better than 1, i often get it where the other reg repects my raises and i respect theres so we kinda know whos ahead and who isnt while the others seem to be wild cards and either i will take them out the other reg will or the wild cards take themselves out. If you have 5 wildcards its a lot harder to get reads and so a lot more risky.
  • edited May 2012

    hi daz,
yes i get your point about having 2 regs m8.
but anymore than 2 isn,t so good.
surely it,s better having not so good players shall we say,
as if they are calling you with worse hands, which they will most of the time,
then we are going in ahead and therefore favourite.
agree about it being harder to get reads, but as i,m playing 9/10 tables
most of my decisions are pretty instinctive and card and chip stack and position related.
i am getting to know the new reg,s @ £5.50 as i am sure they are getting to know me.
also enjoying the challenge of this new level.
i was a little apprehensive at first, but i am growing in confidence with every game.
sorry i knocked u out earlier btw,but i,m sure you,d have done the same.  lol
    best wishes,
    :-)

yea definately if there are 3 or more regs or good players it becomes a lot harder im just talking about having 1 including myself. And no worries about knocking me out lol thats the whole point of the game your a friend on the forums but everyone is an enemy at the tables ;) just wish that guy calling my raise utg with 24 didnt hit his flush when i had trips or when i hit a set on the river against bigger set i shoulda folded there. Seems your bad luck charm when you have been on my tables lol. Really glad you are feeling more comfortable though on them as once you get used to it there the same pretty much as the £3 games. Nice stats on the £5 dyms keep it up :)
  • edited May 2012

    hi again daz,
funny isn,t it just how quickly you can adapt to any changes.
i really didn,t think i could or would be playing @ £5 level so quickly either in my challenge.
makes me think i really could get to the higher levels at some point.
    anyway,
    can,t get ahead of myself,can i.
i know there is a long way to go but i,m up 4 this challenge now i,ve started it.
sure to bump into you soon,
    be lucky

    Delighted for you Dev,

Just rewards for all the hard graft you have put in.Just had the week I would rather forget.Played a few tourneys just to keep my mind off stuff but ended up just throwing chips away.Apartment was burgled when I was at funeral.Hopefully things pick up next week and will start dyms sometime next week.Always remember having a bad beat here or there doesn't matter in the big scheme of things.

    Run well pal

    Pat

    hi Pat,
sorry to hear about your news,
    talk about bad beats hey.
    yes,sometimes things do happen,unfortunately don,t they
and it does put things into perspective.
like you say....what,s the odd bad beat compared to what you have been put through this week.
try and stay positive m8,i,m sure things will come good again.
i was going to finish by saying "be lucky",but i,m guessing that,s probably not funny,is it.
    i don,t know...perphaps it is,well it.s intended to be anyways.  lol
