what i think was probably the cause for my losses today was all the flush straights and set i didn't seem to get also bluffs were not always possible.
the reason for such a big win with one of my hands was not AAvQQ or set over set it was infact this if a ten were to hit the river i dread to think of how annoyed i would be with that.
this must be my best bluff yet.
what convinced me to do the bluff was so many times prior to this the villians folded most my bets.
Im inclined to say the exact opposite, perhaps your being a bit too results orientated?
With a flop so wet and against so many players and the fact that people dont like folding at 4nl, its just a check fold situation on the flop, never anything else.
No point doing what you did given the pot is so small on the flop and you have zero equity in there.
I think the only good thing about that hand, is that you didnt use pot bet on the river.
5 way limped pot, and youve committed nothing to it as you were the big blind then bluff out of position on the wettest board you can find with no idea which player behind will play along with you. yeah the check fold buton should be auto selected before the sb has acted. theres so many better situations to run a bluff than here
i guess the better thing i should have did was just left that table because i was starting to get too bored with the way that table was all i was thinging would happen was again if i bet they were all going to fold so i show them a bluff and return to my tight aggressive play.

today i finally managed to get the royal flush and what was best about it was i had a villian who himself held a flush and was very aggressive which allowed me to therefore call all the way and won me 16.79 with profit being 8.31
nice getting a royal and having someone doing all the work for you. if only it was that easy with the monster holding. wp
Thing might be looking bad for my football team but atleast they going fine for me with poker as late sessions might be back to winning ways again after having 3 bad ones, although i did make profit on two of the last 3 days a lot of that was thanks to very good afternoons. On sunday the time i hit that royal flush my bankroll reached~£150 but then on that night things went awful.
As for today my table losses totaled -£20.18 while the table winnings totaled £39.77. my bankroll is £153.38

had a fairly quiet day today with the action not really starting until late in the evening I did have some connection problems when I first started playing today which didn't help.
what I did try today was I went onto an action table rather than a 5th nl4p table and things on that one went quite well for me with profits of £2 and £8.78 from my two periods on them.
overall my table losses added up to £29.98 while the profits were £34.03 my Bankroll is now £157.41

my fold of the day was this. I called the min raise wanting to see what the 4p would do then when I saw him reraise I then decided to raise my own flush just to see for sure if he has a strong flush himself that he tried to hide with the 4p bet.
I really think you are getting an idea of how to play the winning hands, it is just the other half of your game you need to work on. If you wanted to post the ten biggest losing hands of the session I would look over them, as this is the bit stopping you become a £10-20 a day winner imo.

As for the ace 7 hand I often fold small blind on auto. The way I see it if you want pure heads up id go to a heads up table but other than that id stick to ABC and premium hands only in the small blinds. Remember he has postion on you. Unless the guy doesn't defend his blinds, then you can raise to pick up easy pots with marginal hands.
The last hand you were bloomin ul. He was calling your pot size bets and just hit.

Fold, or possibly call, but probably fold. Unless you have notes that say they do it with mid pps
Hand 2.
If your entering that on the button do it with a raise
Why raise the flop? call to pot control, yes, even against a maniac, by raising you just fold out all of the hands you beat.
Hand 3.
Easy fold
You are way behind or flipping at best, rake means flipping is -ve
Hand 4.
Easy fold, you are at the river and only have one pair. One pair is only one rank up from highest card.
Hand 5.
I would be inclinded to fold the flop, and it would be a cold day in hell before I did that on the turn
Hand 6.
Nothing wrong whatsoever. I would have done exactly the same.
I would say out of these 6 hands, 5 of the losses were very much preventable, if you just take a bit more time to think about them.
I have said it before, but google "levels of poker thought" it is an essential read for any poker player. It will be the first search result and be on the poker bank website.
Interested to hear what Tintin makes of of those hands.
I think just in addition, and to summarise how to beat 4nl, just dont bother getting into marginal situations, there are so many better spots to play.
hand 1. meh i prob put it in pre unless i know that they only 3bet better. i can fold to some here but only after seeing them do this and show aces or kings all the time.
hand 2. i am NOT raising this flop with so many players in. i will call the flop because we have hit a decent part of it and i will pot control and evaluate the turn. it is a pot bet after all and usually signals strength into so many but we are realistically beating K9. as played its an easy fold once shoved on.
hand 3. i can let go once the opponent shoves. 99 is a bit weak and ever more likely racing at best. can find a better spot against the villain even if you have seen them do this with 88 before tho if im in a gambling mood i will take it on here like you did
hand 4. i am fine with flop n turn with it being multi way but river an easy fold
hand 5. im not even half decent heads up so this could carry no weight. dont really like raising the turn and i defo dont bet the river after my turn raise is called purely because we have some showdown value but i suck at heads up.
hand 6. once again flop is fine by me. the turn i set them in because they have only a pot bet behind them. as played i set them in or check depending on my mood. the J isnt the worst card that could come as it negates other 2 pair with an ace

hand one was QQ the 3rd best hand preflop I open up the raise and it could be 66+ K10s+ KQo+ AJo+ so when he does the first reraise he would have a much wider range than KK or AA he might of had AQo+ KQs+ 1010+ then I do another raise and that6 itself should have been the jam and just shrugged my shoulders if he had KK or AA. if I want villians to call when I jam preflop then I need to have more than just KK and AA in my range.
hand 2 the reason I didn't raise preflop was because I would be left in a tough spot if he jammed knowing he does it with weak hands such as 88.
hand 3 that villain who jammed was the maniac I describe from hand two I had already seem him jam with 88 and other poor hands preflop so 99 could so often have been ahead.
Hand 4 and 5 were the two I take the blame for although with the heads up I do find it more easier to bluff most villians but this occasion the villain probably knew what he was doing.
