as the afternoon was about the commonwealth games my poker didn't really kick off until a full buy in into the main event having failed the semi. you could say the big talking points in the main event were mostly about premium pairs, at the start things were looking bad and i lost 420 chips with JJ i could have maybe folding a bet of 200 on the turn, he checked K high flop and an 8 came which he then does a a bet which would show the signs of QQ (he 3bet pre).
Half an hour into the MTT things changes and premium pairs were now in favour of me, My stack was doubled 1440-3140 KKv1010, the player open raised then shoved, my only guess was he just want a head prize and i might have AK. just two hands later i got AA and when the SB is a shorty i saw a great chance of getting another full stack. i started off calling an UTG raise then when SB shipped UTG called, i now raised and he choose to still call then when the flop came 8 high(2diamonds) he immidiately shipped 63 BBs with top pair 7 kicker and remained behind me. later i had hit a set on a flop which like the AA had a shorty involved this time i didn't quite get what i was hoping for as when i checked the flop the playing IP opted to not jam hist A2 which my guess is because he saw what the other player got and knew he was ahead of the weaker hands anyway.
things did quieten down for a small period as the blinds were not yet in the 50/100 and callers were still likely to be loose but it wasn't long before i made a bad call myself, a person with 20BB had just came onto my table and took the decision to ship them with his very first hand, i opted to call my QJs which i'm now thinking was a step too far nothing to do with his hand being QQ but just thinking 20 BB had destroyed my chipstack big time.
when the blinds were 400 i had 6300 and it wasn't long before it was double up when i open raised got jammed and a shorty also put his chips in both hand AJ and they failed to hit. now that it was a massive stack i choose to be extra tight as now the bubble was getting so close and i was certain i would get past it if i stayed tight enough. i was so tight that i even foolded AK

now that i past the bubble things were looser again so i jammed with K9 hoping to double my stack, the hands they stood a chance of being ahead of instead saw them make a fold instead it was a min raise with AA (had 12BB) the button calls flop came J98 and he called had K9 and hit the K on the river so i was now out.
overall a night and i enjoyed the MTT also i had an hour or two of master cash to finish the night off but them totalled a loss of -4.12. still it could have been worse if had my table not had mr orford. to finish the day off i won entry into the main event tomorrow.
the orford league didn't seem to like me this week, i was constantly waiting for a hand worthy of play, i did miss one QQ but overally my stack rarely got above the starting stack, having gained free entry into the main event i was thinking myself that i would be unlikely to even win 1 HP as the start of it saw me loose nearly half my chip stack to a fish that was extremely loose. after half an hour my stack was down to 1000 chips but it was that point which things changed and now hands were coming my way starting with a double up and head prize against another player with 940 chips, overall i didn't get a bubble prize but won £64 from 5 heads alone.
i also got into a 3K deep stack BH via a sat the total cost for that MTT was £9 so the 18.75 i won was a winnings total. the 1K BH 2K BH and the mini were not so good but overall my MTTs totals a win of £52.15
when i was down to my final MTT i went on some cash too and they finish with a total win of £16.77
overall i won £68.92 and saturday i can enter a £55 MTT of my own choice due to the issue in todays UKPC freeroll not getting myself registered
saturday i choose to have a break and my return didn't go as planned. i myself lost loads when 3 people took huge gambles and were more aggro that i expected each had unual hands and won them by the river AK vs A10s all in pre hits 10 meaning i lost £32, BB 3bet J4o i call with A8s Ch/R on flop 356 (2clubs then cbet called his jam when 7 came on turn sadly i lost £40, thirdly AA on k 10 2 (2spades) see a jam done by 5s3s and he hit 5 on turn and 3 on river so i lost £21.
thankfully i did see one player with 76s Ch/R on flop Q 3 2 (2 hearts) and shipped the turn there was also an Aq which called and then i made him ship the rest in and good news was i stayed ahead.
but in other cases i was left frustrated at myself because for some reason there are people holding top two pair but checking the river so i thought i'd ask. whilst i'm sitting out of position in the blinds, what would be the best point to take action with sets to obtain myself the best of value
Hi Craig. I am a carer myself for young people and also one of your poker peers as we started playing about the same time I think. You need to resolve your BRM/Deposit issues as soon as possible so that you will be free to enjoy the game.
If possible, you should write down your brm strategy and sign it alongside your carer. I can't help but think you might be better agreeing a poker budget with your carer and then there will be no pressure to deposit or withdraw from your balance. See if you can agree say £40 a month/£10 a week deposited in your account and that will help your carer's to understand the limits of your financial exposure. Then the rest of the responsibility for managing your bankroll is up to you. Good luck!
All i can say about today is i was set up for a top finish in DTD 1, it all started with a very early double up when i took the chance with KdJd on a 3rd diamond river i bet 240 and he raised to 1500, as i had semi bluffed prior to the river i was more confidient of remaining ahead and thankfully i was and he showed Qd5d. Now i was miles ahead with 10K and as the blinds were still 30/60 i started to slow down and be more careful although i did still play hands like 86s in decent position.
The next big risk came when i had a stack of 21K and the blinds were 150/300, UTG+1 raised to 600 i 3bet to make 1500 the SB shipped his 5K and UTG+1 called. So i had the choice do i see if there is an A on the flop or do i risk all of my stack with KK knowing that he's almost certain to now fold AK leaving me either way ahead of QQ or way behind to AA, my final decision was to choose to ship my own, when he did call, it was the nasty one i got as he showed AA leaving me now hoping for the K to get set and that is just what i got as there on the river came my lovely king, having got so lucky with KK i was now it for some big suprises as every single time a set was to happen i was the one expecting to hit it starting with my very next two hands which wer 1010 with a flop 10 6 3 and then 55 with a flop Q 5 3 The truth is from the moment i got doubled up with KKK sets were coming non stop, overall i had managed to hit a set on 8 of the 14 occasions i went fortward onto the flop since that KKK, i did on two occasions fold hands preflop that would have seen a set post flop and of course i did see 2 other pairs won before the flop.
my finish today was 2nd and i won £52.74 (54.94-2.20)
overall i got a profit total of £30.95 as i did have a few all in sats +the other DTDs and 2 BH.
No this was a cash table not an MTT, i like to multi table and at 15:31 there are not as many people online so i decided to have a try at 1 nl30 and 3 nl20, being a nl30 table I choose to be more careful with my play to begin with as the table did have only 1 player known from nl20 but it wasn’t long before i got more and that enabled me to play like i would on a nl20.
My cash wasn’t off to the best of starts; i had to do a few full rebuys on nl20 and a few small refills on the others. About half an hour, 3 of the 4 tables my wins started coming, as for the 4th well that one never got going and the fact it was very early was the only reason I didn’t leave earlier.
My next session was an MTT session, overall I spent £25.25 (£11+£5.50+£5.75+£3) I did win 7.63 and 6.10 in mini but overall I lost £11.52 in MTTs and also £5.50 lost in 1 STT.
10pm I had an hour of master cash, I had 5 tables up all l20 and the outcome was a profit of £54.06 (£44.39+£16.10+£5-£1.07-£10.38). I’ve been getting disappointed about losing value with hands out of position but now it’s time to put this to bed because in the long run I know that value I missed with those monsters played out of position is certainly going to be made up with my monsters in position.
it's when i see a hand such as this one that it's so clear to see how much of a benifit it is to be in position and how much harder it will bed for him to guess. i decide to lead out on the river he 3bets me then when i go all in, he pridicted quads in the chat box before making the final call and TBH i think he only calls knowing a fold would make bluffs just too easy.
playing lots of MTTs, getting furious when my monsters were not getting the value i wanted and hoped for, playing for 6 hours+ without having a break and chasing all my losses. That tells me the biggest change needed now is to be more patient and start respecting others better.
i played on a nl30 yesterday afternoon but that had a valid reason, today i should have remained away and just waited for the other nl20 to spare a chair or load up some 888 poker, you've guessed it i was on a nl30 table at a time i shouldn't have been on, it's true because i was watching athletics and had 3 nl20 table then when the athletics finished i had a total of 5 nl20 and 1 nl30. If i'm ever going to be on a nl30 it should be only when i'm playing my A game and have absolutely no things to distract me.
wanting big pots is greed, i don't want to look greedy so it's time to accept the small pots and the folds made on flop or on turn.
Hey Craig What do you prefer cash or tournies? Posted by LARSON7
larson mate these days it's cash tables that i like best, my favourite thing of all mind is the DTD and orford league because them MTTs have got so much greatness about them from great chat to a huge mixture of players. as for other MTTs well the ones i enjoy are the main events but they are expensive so i'm left with the mini. i don't mind the 2K BH (9:30), if i can have a late night i may play the £1k Bh (10:40) and providing there is good overlay or if won't have time for minis then i'll play the £750 BH (6:45).
tonight was a very good night for cash, the first master cash session was a one with 4 decent wins and just 1 tiny loss. the second cash session is where i had the two biggest cash wins but it did get 2 heavy losses too. i did play one hand very loose in the second session as well, i called a 97o preflop and then i see a flop J8x i'm in the SB and call a cbet of 78p when i would have nothing but a gutshot to help me really, but the gutshot was a hand i got and so i won a very good prize, the story doesn't end there because this person who lost out was a certain anna fowler who upset borin loner badly last week. overall my total prize today was £48.67 (58.07 MS 1+17 MTT -26.40MS 2)
the hand i would like to question is this, Q does the call preflop and then a raise followed by a cbet on turn still get overpairs callling enough of the time to allow me another attempt to bluff or should i have now stopped altogether?
my aim was to get rid of overpairs as raise on this flop would easily leave him in a spot where he will be either way ahead or way behind as my raise would sualy have sets or suited connectors draws written all over it.
Don't know how much you want to get ino it in a diary thread but:
How much of his range is overpairs? How often will he fold an overpair to a flop raise? And if he doesn't fold flop I'm not so sure they are great barrel cards
It's doubtful whether or not I would have been confident with an overpair once you have raised the flop, but I was confident I had the best hand all the way down the line. It never even crossed my mind that you had an 8 in your hand (for the straight), hence my quick call on the river. I thought there was a chance you had 10s as well, but ultimately it did smell like a flush draw that missed... something exactly along the lines of what you had.
i don't have much time so i'll just be brief tonight. Basically the only good bit tonight was the £750 BH which i made it past the bubble. the real trouble i think started the minute i lost dear to a calling station in the main.
was my flop bet too weak, did i play the turn correct or was he just a extremely loose fish that i can charge heavy.

from then on it's a question of weather or not i needed a break as i had this issue in the mini when it's Ax i can easily to do the call and see the flop and fold if i miss, the nightmare comes from hands like KQ KJ K10s Q10s. Q. does my position make it too big a risk calling these or should i take the risk myself and jam it preflop knowing there are lots of raggy suited hand in this players range?
having qualified for the main i didn't get far in that before going out, the mini didn't go well either and i soon went out of that but then thing took a swing, first came TOTP and that was an enjoyable one not for the fact i finished 1 but the fact the chat was great. i made a direct into the 2K (9::30) BH and start off with a very lucky hand, i 3bet A10o preflop to isolate the min raise and the on the flop came an A, when i cbet my hand 98o calls and hits a 8 on the turn so now had two pair, i double barrelled and he shipped, when i called i was now behind but got very lucky and hit my river A. i did put a few words of relief into the chat but soon calmed down and remained calm for the rest of the night. I finished the MTT past the bubble, won £33.14, i just want to say a thank you to larson07 for the rail he give. it goes to show why i like the orford and DTD so much although i'll have to miss this monday DTD.
as for the cash, like most days really another day with small wins that toalled an overall win of £24.08.
so my total for saturday was cash £24.08 MTT £42.73 SnG -2.80 total £64.01
chasing sats, spending so long on cash tables, not accepting defeat, getting annoyed when a decent hand failed to be called, you guessed it i've had a few days where i've got too results orientated and gone on tilt.
Today was had non of that, instead it was a nice and relaxing evening where i just stayed calm and patient.
first i tried the mini freeroll-failed and failed. 6pm i entered myself into the semi and the 2K BH freeroll, the freeroll again was not a success but the semi on the other hand was a success so i was in the main event. Whilst waiting for the main event i did a bit of cash on 2 tables and got myself £21.54 profit and once the main came i left them and put my whole focus on that and the mini. I didn't last long in either of them but the positive thing about them failures today was i didn't get annoyed with anything just accepted the loss and moved on.
Once i went out of them i decided to play the 2K BH as i did get £11.25 from a HP in the main, this one had lots of decent hands to start with and things were looking great most of the way, I did play 2 cash tables this time but the reason being was i only had 1 MTT so could put a bit of focus on the cash.
today has been a great day in MTTs, the thing about today is it tells me i was getting too addicted to my own hands in the past and not giving them up enough.

I could have went out very early indeed when i held JJ, a bet that big preflop, i'm already ringing my alarm thinking i could be in big trouble, when he then does a full pot bet on this board, i could see myself making too big a risk calling because my hand would already strong due to the fact it's UTG raise, the fact his chip stack is larger tells me he is maybe hoping for a call to be made as there would now be a good chance he gets a head.

when the blinds were 75/150 my chip stack did get down to just 1530, i was in the SB, the button raised so i decided to take the risk, shipped 55 in and it got me doubled as A10 missed. I still wasn't getting much chance to double up again, soon my chip stack dropped to 1985 (125/250) but then came a J10 which got me 1K worth of chips so now i had 3360. when my chipstack was 2985 (125/250) i now had another double up as QQ hit a set on the flop having min raised pre and getting called by Q5. From this point onwards things turned round and chips were coming my way. Q8 in BB limped pot did weak bets on each street as flop came 8 high and was a very draw heavy board, the caller on all streets had K3s chasing a flush, next i got 1500 when i did a raise OTB with AA, SB 3bet but then folds when i shipped. My chipstack itself was now at 7820 (150/300) but still not above average, then came the big one when i held JJ a player UTG shipped 5824 UTG+1 called and now i shipped my JJ in BB which UTG+1 called and i managed to win that pot which was 22214 and now got myself in the top 10. in the past i've went from chip leader to bottom of the list very quickly by over valuing hands today however i thought much more wisely and did what i could so that a weaker hand would remain in as this example shows, when he ch/R that flop i'm thinking to myself there is no flush or straights, he didn't 3bet preflop and our stacks are both simular, so doing this ch/R he either has Qx or a set, the thing with Qx is i can't see it calling a jam as it will know i'm not likely to hold a draw leaving him with just overpairs AQ KQ or sets.

overall i was much more careful with bluffs and bet sizing.
my sharkscope might show more than 3 big wins but overall there are 4 stand out win on it.
1st one was when i got myself onto a final table of the 3K BH twice in one month 19th&30th of January £569 total. On the 21st of feb i finished 3rd in a 10K BH main event and won £656 in that event. I finished 1st in a 750 BH and also took money rather than entry into a UKPC final that got me £384 total. Finally yesterday i got myself finished 2nd place in Saturday's BH main event winning the biggest amount of all £981.
i've had bad times in MTTs as well but considering that i am usually a good cash player, taking into account that this sharkscope shows myself now over 1K, it's time now for me to put an end to the tilts and stop chasing all the money i loose from buy ins because if i am going to keep on doing that then i should just withdraw all of this money i've won because it's happened once already when £1K dropped to £300, then i got myself to £800 but dropped to £300, so having got myself from 300 back to over £1.2K i need to either stay like this or withdraw now.
another day has past and again i have managed to pass the bubble in the main event.

i do question some of my play in the late stages of this event and think more mistakes were made, some were loose calls others being too passive, for instance i got 3bet pre by the BB (blinds 600/1200) had 99 the flop came Jc8h4h he Ch/R 3600/12000, the minute he does that i should have folded as he likely had a premium pair with the heart. my next bad one was a double barrell i did when i min raised A9s flop was Qh7h7s i cbet 4000 get called which should have told me he has got a hand, instead i doubled on turn he went all in so i folded. 3rd hand was when i 3bet JJ preflop again blinds being 600/1200 the open raise called and flop came AdKs6d we both ch the flop then he does a bet of 1600 on a brick turn, the chances are he did it knowing i'm likely holding eith set or weaker premium pair such as QQ so as the turn didn't give me that 3rd diamond i should have folded my JJ now knowing i'm most likely beat.
Q. when i see the flush come on this river rather than risk him just checking a flush should i just make the lead bet and hope that he calls knowing myself it's only likely he will call a flush
had one good MTT tonight, i finished in 3rd place in the orford league.
most of my poker this week has been playing MTTs and no suprise really i've seen my BR loose £200. the cash tables also feel harder now than when i first started nl20 and i am thinking this may be down to the fact i've been on these tables for a while.
sundays super roller is an MTT that will always mean starting from a sat into the semi, thursday main event will be the one main event i do directly buy myself in as it's the biggest of all and i expect the greatest amount of people to join, saturday's main event will depend on how i am feeling after the football, tuesday's and wednesday's mains are a no, finally monday's and friday's main are two that i need to enter via the semi because mistakes are more likely with the ordford and DTD being played.
my cash might have been poor but as predicted my main event tonight went very well, i might have finished 27 but TBH i put part of that blame on shorties getting lucky frequently. the early stages and mid stages i seemed to be getting the maximum value from people weather it was from cbetting against a villian to my left i knew easily folded post flop and knowing how passive others were too doing careful betting rathe than ch/C the middle pairs. you could say it goes back to the point i was making yesterday really because i only had the two MTTs today and no cash tables plus by the time the mini started i already had an idea of how the main event table dynamic was.

mondays are DTDs or nothing at all not even via an all in or semi instead i'll just use that £33 towards a different BH main later in the week. i went out of DTD 2 very early the blind hadn't even got round the full table, what happened was i hit middle set on the board 653 i Ch/R then called and on the turn i went Ch/C a shove, i was worried about 66 but what i didn't see coming was 74s. DTD 1 was going ok but once the main event started (got in via semi) i turned my attention towards that, what then happened was i started leaking chips with over betting preflop and soon decided to give up. having give myself up in DTD 1 and not bother with DTD 3 i was thinking now i would be able to get myself going in the main but having already been in for 15 minutes my stack was now dropping and i was still not fully clear of the table dynamic and i didn't really last more than an hour in the main. i best of just not bohering because i can't be guarentee to do well in the main event even if my MTTs have see great improvements and it's certainly alot harder to focus when i have 3 low buy in deep stacks running in comparison to the one full ring deepy on friday.
as for cash games well that seemed to be a story of two halfs, the early sessions were bad losses first was a loss of £54 the second one was a loss of -£9. on thing that did raise questions was when i saw a player B1.88/C4.96 with KsQc OTF Kc6c7c and Qd he Ch/C£8 i had 76s a few hands later i saw myself in a very simulart spot when the flop was As Qs 6s i had AQ he cbet£1.20/C£3.30, the different here was on the turn (7d), before he Ch/C the second street but here he choose to go Ch£6.60/AI £22.42, when i made the call and saw him with a flush i fealt like slapping myself in the face because knowing he Cbet/C and Ch/C his previous two pair it should have told me clearly he has a flush.
the second cash session was a great one and i think it was helped a great deal by me doing better with getting the timing of a raise correct, cbets can be quite often bluffs so i am still not yet certain a player has got anything so rather than always raising on the flop i sometimes went for the more patient route of raising on the turn because they say turns are when hand strength really become clear.
Comments
Half an hour into the MTT things changes and premium pairs were now in favour of me, My stack was doubled 1440-3140 KKv1010, the player open raised then shoved, my only guess was he just want a head prize and i might have AK. just two hands later i got AA and when the SB is a shorty i saw a great chance of getting another full stack. i started off calling an UTG raise then when SB shipped UTG called, i now raised and he choose to still call then when the flop came 8 high(2diamonds) he immidiately shipped 63 BBs with top pair 7 kicker and remained behind me. later i had hit a set on a flop which like the AA had a shorty involved this time i didn't quite get what i was hoping for as when i checked the flop the playing IP opted to not jam hist A2 which my guess is because he saw what the other player got and knew he was ahead of the weaker hands anyway.
things did quieten down for a small period as the blinds were not yet in the 50/100 and callers were still likely to be loose but it wasn't long before i made a bad call myself, a person with 20BB had just came onto my table and took the decision to ship them with his very first hand, i opted to call my QJs which i'm now thinking was a step too far nothing to do with his hand being QQ but just thinking 20 BB had destroyed my chipstack big time.
when the blinds were 400 i had 6300 and it wasn't long before it was double up when i open raised got jammed and a shorty also put his chips in both hand AJ and they failed to hit. now that it was a massive stack i choose to be extra tight as now the bubble was getting so close and i was certain i would get past it if i stayed tight enough. i was so tight that i even foolded AK
overall a night and i enjoyed the MTT also i had an hour or two of master cash to finish the night off but them totalled a loss of -4.12. still it could have been worse if had my table not had mr orford.
to finish the day off i won entry into the main event tomorrow.
i also got into a 3K deep stack BH via a sat the total cost for that MTT was £9 so the 18.75 i won was a winnings total. the 1K BH 2K BH and the mini were not so good but overall my MTTs totals a win of £52.15
when i was down to my final MTT i went on some cash too and they finish with a total win of £16.77
overall i won £68.92 and saturday i can enter a £55 MTT of my own choice due to the issue in todays UKPC freeroll not getting myself registered
thankfully i did see one player with 76s Ch/R on flop Q 3 2 (2 hearts) and shipped the turn there was also an Aq which called and then i made him ship the rest in and good news was i stayed ahead.
but in other cases i was left frustrated at myself because for some reason there are people holding top two pair but checking the river so i thought i'd ask.
whilst i'm sitting out of position in the blinds, what would be the best point to take action with sets to obtain myself the best of value
The next big risk came when i had a stack of 21K and the blinds were 150/300, UTG+1 raised to 600 i 3bet to make 1500 the SB shipped his 5K and UTG+1 called. So i had the choice do i see if there is an A on the flop or do i risk all of my stack with KK knowing that he's almost certain to now fold AK leaving me either way ahead of QQ or way behind to AA, my final decision was to choose to ship my own, when he did call, it was the nasty one i got as he showed AA leaving me now hoping for the K to get set and that is just what i got as there on the river came my lovely king,
having got so lucky with KK i was now it for some big suprises as every single time a set was to happen i was the one expecting to hit it starting with my very next two hands which wer 1010 with a flop 10 6 3 and then 55 with a flop Q 5 3
The truth is from the moment i got doubled up with KKK sets were coming non stop, overall i had managed to hit a set on 8 of the 14 occasions i went fortward onto the flop since that KKK, i did on two occasions fold hands preflop that would have seen a set post flop and of course i did see 2 other pairs won before the flop.
my finish today was 2nd and i won £52.74 (54.94-2.20)
overall i got a profit total of £30.95 as i did have a few all in sats +the other DTDs and 2 BH.
thanks to everyone for the support in DTD1
Nl30 don’t forget B.R.M bad boy.
I’ve been getting disappointed about losing value with hands out of position but now it’s time to put this to bed because in the long run I know that value I missed with those monsters played out of position is certainly going to be made up with my monsters in position.
it's when i see a hand such as this one that it's so clear to see how much of a benifit it is to be in position and how much harder it will bed for him to guess.i decide to lead out on the river he 3bets me then when i go all in, he pridicted quads in the chat box before making the final call and TBH i think he only calls knowing a fold would make bluffs just too easy.
i played on a nl30 yesterday afternoon but that had a valid reason, today i should have remained away and just waited for the other nl20 to spare a chair or load up some 888 poker, you've guessed it i was on a nl30 table at a time i shouldn't have been on, it's true because i was watching athletics and had 3 nl20 table then when the athletics finished i had a total of 5 nl20 and 1 nl30.
If i'm ever going to be on a nl30 it should be only when i'm playing my A game and have absolutely no things to distract me.
wanting big pots is greed, i don't want to look greedy so it's time to accept the small pots and the folds made on flop or on turn.
What do you prefer cash or tournies?
i don't mind the 2K BH (9:30), if i can have a late night i may play the £1k Bh (10:40) and providing there is good overlay or if won't have time for minis then i'll play the £750 BH (6:45).
overall my total prize today was £48.67 (58.07 MS 1+17 MTT -26.40MS 2)
the hand i would like to question is this,
Q does the call preflop and then a raise followed by a cbet on turn still get overpairs callling enough of the time to allow me another attempt to bluff or should i have now stopped altogether?
How much of his range is overpairs?
How often will he fold an overpair to a flop raise? And if he doesn't fold flop I'm not so sure they are great barrel cards
was my flop bet too weak, did i play the turn correct or was he just a extremely loose fish that i can charge heavy.
when it's Ax i can easily to do the call and see the flop and fold if i miss, the nightmare comes from hands like KQ KJ K10s Q10s.
Q. does my position make it too big a risk calling these or should i take the risk myself and jam it preflop knowing there are lots of raggy suited hand in this players range?
as for the cash, like most days really another day with small wins that toalled an overall win of £24.08.
so my total for saturday was
cash £24.08
MTT £42.73
SnG -2.80
total £64.01
Once i went out of them i decided to play the 2K BH as i did get £11.25 from a HP in the main, this one had lots of decent hands to start with and things were looking great most of the way, I did play 2 cash tables this time but the reason being was i only had 1 MTT so could put a bit of focus on the cash.
overall my day finished-
MTTs -£8.70
cash +£58.91
in the past i've went from chip leader to bottom of the list very quickly by over valuing hands today however i thought much more wisely and did what i could so that a weaker hand would remain in as this example shows, when he ch/R that flop i'm thinking to myself there is no flush or straights, he didn't 3bet preflop and our stacks are both simular, so doing this ch/R he either has Qx or a set, the thing with Qx is i can't see it calling a jam as it will know i'm not likely to hold a draw leaving him with just overpairs AQ KQ or sets.
Q. when i see the flush come on this river rather than risk him just checking a flush should i just make the lead bet and hope that he calls knowing myself it's only likely he will call a flush
most of my poker this week has been playing MTTs and no suprise really i've seen my BR loose £200. the cash tables also feel harder now than when i first started nl20 and i am thinking this may be down to the fact i've been on these tables for a while.
