    Just read last nights post and realised i,d make a mistake by playing even if it was only for 20-25 minutes. One of the most basic rules is don,t play when your drunk but i got away with it this time. Won,t be making that mistake again anytime soon tho

    How do you adjust mentally playing cash & MTT's/STT's at the same time?

    Should you maybe have a day of cash only then a day of MTT's ?

    Its a good question and not sure i,ve sussed it yet 

    The 2 sessions above were seperate ones. I used to find it hard to be honest especially late on in tournaments so now i try  and stick to one or the other. Its looking like its going to mainly MTT,s this month although need to maybe carry on learning to play  cash as i,m just not winning at the moment on it and have never been a big cash winner anyway.

    I,d advise to stick with one or the other, although i do find it easier to play DYM,s along with cash esp in the earlier levels

    Had a mini session whilst listening to Eric Burden and The Animals - gr8 album

    Loaded up 8 x Nl10 and 5p action tables but had to cut it down pretty quickly as i was struggling to keep up and getting some lag on my computer - so ended up playing 4-5 tables. Got off to a bad start but at least they were bad beats and felt my play was ok (an improvement on last cash session). Think i ended up about evens

    11 days without an update and not much to report other than my bit of rungood lately seems to have come to an abrupt end.

    I did get £750 in shares in Royal mail although i was hoping to get a few more. If i,d known anything about shares i,d have asked some of my family members to get them for me but its to late now. At least my mum took my advice and got £750 worth as well

    EDIT - Felt i was a bit unlucky in the £200GTD as i made it from 42 down to 10 or 11 in 4th place but 2 bad beats AIPF finished me off. At least i felt i was playing well and hope to get back into it this week. I do enjoy this tournament as its got a good structure with a guarantee and prefer freezouts to rebuys anyway

    BR  £2510.74  (i,ve not added my C4P from last month as i,ve also lost that but can,t get results up)

    I know they say "Cash for dough" tourneys for show" but i,m starting to think i,ve a better chance in multi tabling satelites and MTT,s and trying to play a few to even out the variance rather than stepping up to NL20 which doesn,t seem right as i haven,t consistently beat NL10 yet but after playing recently with different friends and talking through the hands as we play has helped me in seeing how others play the game. One of my m8,s isn,t very good but its still interesting to hear his thought process as he seems to want to get involved in far to many pots which i know there are other players out there thinking the same way he does.

    Message to self : must put more hours in - (I,ve decided to have a couple of qiuet weekends with no going out drinking and trying to play during the best hours which imo is between 6pm and 1am on here and a bit later at weekends)

    I would just play what ever you enjoy and are comfortable with.
    Maybe 4 or 5 days cash and a couple of days MTT's ?

    What are your plans with the Royal Mail shares?
    Hang on to them or sell them now and make a quick buck?

    I was going to hang on to them for a while but seen as i only got a 6th of what i was hoping i might just do a quick sell and get it back into premium bonds

    Gotta say i enjoy tourneys a lot more than cash. Just the strategy of it . A bit more exciting imo. the levels of cash i,ve been playing has been pretty nitty so we,ll see how it goes

    Didn,t have much time tonight so just played these 3 games. 

    Was playing ok but a bit gutted after using 350 or 375 pts on another site to play a super turbo super satelite. Got through 4 or 5 satelites and just missed out when i shoved my AJ s and was looked up by KQ off. I carried on watching and realised that this was for a $162 seat into the 50K nightly GTD with a longer structure than the sats had been. 
    Not really played many satelites on other sites before but its something i,ll definately be having a look at

    No online today but got some confidence back after going to the local .  It was pretty qiuet which does make it s alittle easier to get pts and as i hadn,t been in a cpl of weeks i had some catching to do 


    Its only a fiver in but 1st game was 14 players and 2nd game 9 players . Managed to win them both for 20pts and a few extra quid. Not been doing so well on here in last week or or so hopefully things might be changing

    Got in late - signed up to 4 games from £3.10 timed to £5 speed BH

    Down about £10 but just having a bit of fun on the NL4 for 1st time i na while until this hand happened - In case it doesnt post as i,ve had problems posting hands it Ak vs AK vs QQ AIPF - missed

    Just crashed out in the £200 GTD after loving a 6-5-2 board with no flush draws with my 66 in a 3 way pre-raised pot . All the money went in and someone hit a str8 and that was me gone - no board pairing up for me either :(

    Slightly better news in the £5 15 timed 

    Although it wasa winning session not happy with the way i played and should have done much better. I had good positions in last 2 games and made series of basic errors

    doing ok in a $4 rebuy elsewhere (83 entrants) so might play a little more. Theres not many but i do prefer the rebuys that arn,r t turbo games as were still quite deep - no bingo poker yet

    EDIT - 20 mins later and i thought i,d load up a 3 2p/4p tables while playing my MTT
    should have stuck with 2p/40 as just lost 2 buy ins at NL8 - Hit the nut str8 on the turn bur he rivered his house on river

    RE-edit On brk now - 8th of 22 (only got 26 BB,s tho and antes are in play)- got the addon but no rebuys - Top 12 get paid

    Re-edit 6th from 17  . Raise folded my a 10 dues to a shove and SB then called , Folded due to their big stacks. They had k 10 and kj which miissed . Could have had big lead.

    I,m getting mullered at Nl8 with bad bts so am coming off before it tilts me for this tourney

    RE-Edit brk again - should have been in beda ages ago - 4th from 7 - $33 dolars locked up but prety close andi,ve got my eye on 1st which is $214

    sigh -now last of 7 after 1 bluff to many

    scraped it back but my 66 got by k 10 AIPF in big pot - got 4th for $60

    As you can see i,ve hardly played on here recently.

    I,ve downloaded a few new sites and am picking up a few free tournament tokens so just kind of seeing whats out there at the moment. I,ll probably strat playing a little more on here again soon but getting extra value elsewhere at the moment so concentrating on that. I wouldn,t normally play a one euro MTT but when theres an added 500 euro in the pot and only about 80-90 runners i can,t not play it . There so many different sites out there these days its hard to choose although i always come back to Sky in the end. Played on a table the other day - 9 players . Me vs 8 Americans . It was great

    I,ve had a cpl of cash sessions on here as well recently  but can,t find the results . I was only v.slightly up so will just leave it off the roll

    Played 1 game so far today on another site as i had a free £5 token to use in a GUKPT feeder satelite . Won that and virtually went straight into the next one which was a £50 satelite where i hit a set of 2,s on the flop early on . Managed to get it all in against Q9 on a 2 7 9 rainbow flop - Turn came a Q then river another Q. He rivered his FH. Of course it also made me a Full House as well but not good enough. 

    They were giving away 2 seats to a £1070 GUKPT (Not sure which one) so a little bit gutted at the moment as i,ve always wanted to play a GUKPT or an EPT but i,ll definately keep on at those satlites now. It would have been a great experience - Maybe next time tho

    EDIT : Was looking for a deep run in the 1K BH after getting up a nice stack about midway through. Then on the cash bubble i managed to run my AK into AA (with only the BB left to act) . That crippled by stack down to 2.5k after losing a 40k pot but managed to hold on for the top 13 and then after a few dbl ups found myself 6th of 9 with nearly 20k. As someone had put a relitivaly small raise in for the 3rd time in a row although UTG i decided to shove with my AJ off . I was up against AJs which i wasn,t to fussed about until his flush came in. Sick way to go out but departed in 9th. At least it put me in profit for the day

    Made i tight fold which i,d normally call in these games in a 3 way pot with AQ. The initial all in er had been playing pretty tight which is why i folded, but may be should have got my chips in - in this spot. (would have tripled up)
    Soon went out after that when my AJ was called by A3 s and his flush hit.

    Was going to carry on playing but just don,t feel in the mood tonight so will cut my losses

    Haven,t updated for a few days as i,ve not played

    Just had my biggest ever comeback in a DYM . It was a 5 euro DYM and i called an all in on the 3rd hand with AKs which i know was a mistake esp. with it being 10 min blinds. This left me with 30 chips. I somehow got back into it and cashed with 3.1k in chips. Happy days

    Just playing a cpl of games on here. Not going to well though. Will update shortly

    EDIT - Don,t know why it won,t post hands anymore - Had this problem for a while (looks ok when i,m putting it inbut when i go back to it - it looks like this
    Basically i got it all in pre with 99 vs 77 - He makes a set on flop and i make a str8 on turn - then he makes quads on the river - crazy hand

    Cost me in the end - Ended up bubbling this one without taking a head

    Just got in and fancied playing a few MTT,s  or multi-player games rather first and seeing how it goes

    Signed up to these so far , as well as a cpl elesewhere - I,ll update later


    EDIT _ Not going to badly - Didn,t make the 2k GTD but bubbled so i got the cash overlay of £8.80 so i might buy in anyway

     EDIT :Decided against buying directly into the 2K BH . I was already running well in the 1K BH and £200 GTD. I haven,t got around to playing anywhere else yet either. Been mainly focusing on the 1K BH wher,ve i,ve just gone in 9th. Standard really AQ VS JKs AIPF - He got there which was disapointing as i would have been up to 3rd with a real shout. I,m still in the £200 GTD which hasn,t quite reached the cash yet 5th of 10 with 6 paying. 


    So doing well and playing well even though it could have been better

    RE- EDIT - wow - just crashed out of £200GTD in 10th when i shoved a river with a re-raise with nothing in a big pot . If he hadn,t have hit his flush  "those pesky little flushes" . It wudda paid off. Would like to post the hand but having some problems as can be seen from above. 

    Gonna have a brk then play a few more games

    Not been a good day but have vowed to start playing more satelites - so i,m will be cocentrating on them for the rest of the month (Also on other istes as i,ve just played a $50 dollar game through a satlite and didn,t think the quality was as good as i,d expected. I,m certainly due for something form a $50 dollar or $£50 game as the last few i,ve come nowhere although don,t play them that often

    I think I remember reading a while ago that you didn't want this thread in 'poker chat'?
    Why not get it moved though? You put a lot of hard work into the diary and it's always interesting reading. Might get the views it deserves if you moved it.

    Interesting point. Maybe if i was to start it now i would put it in GPC but as its been on here so long i think i,ll keep it on here.
    The original idea as explained in 1st post was that i was doing it just for myself really .
      
    Instead of writing reults down on paper i thought it owuld be easier to keep a track on here by creating a thread and it would keep me motivated to play more which has always been a bit of a problem for me

    But its been on here that long now that ppl know where it is and do post on it although i know i,d get more posts if it were in GPC.

    Maybe thats something to think about for the future as i do like ppl posting especially with advice or if my experiences helps someone else.

    I also wanted to stay under the radar or so to speak as after reading other ppl diaries in GPC who can often get good reads on how they play, but its something i,m now thinking about since you mentioned it.

    But for now heres whats happening today (still playing the 2K BH sat )

    EDIT - No luck in the all ins and knocked out of the £2.40 satelite after making a bad play when raise folding when i should have just folded or being prepared to call an allin with the chipstack i had as i left myself to short really and the J 8 would have hit, Going to have a short brk before coming back to it. got another cpl of games i,ve already signed up for elsewhere so will look on here for some satelites and maybe an MTT if i feel its got some value in it

    EDIT - brk time

    Got knocked out of the $K BH satelite. 1st time i,ve played this one as wasn,t to keen on it as it had some good players in and with only a 1 in 10 chance you have to be pretty lucky as its also 3 min blinds.

    Lost half my stack in the 1st level of the 200 GTD but gradually clawing it back now and running well in a 1 euro game on another site with 16 players from 73 left (Top 9 pay)  . Its got 500 euro added to the pot so a deep run would be nice (currently 4th) despite a cpl of bad calls which paid off after a spot of luck (EDIT - finished 8th for 23 euros but knocked out of £200 GTD)

    Ps - Thx for the comments below Paige. I do know off a cpl of ppl who do read my diary quite regularly but haven,t posted and there a lot of diaries in GPC but its something i am thinking about now
