Every blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again.

Congrats mate. Now is the time for some serious  BRM so you can build on this.

Nice Binkage waller - Glad to see you made a recovery after the BRM error :)

    Keep it up - GL

Ty all for the kind words.

Not 100% sure how to proceed brm wise....is a 40 buyin rule ok for mtts? Or should it be more? I don't suppose it makes a difference atm unless I break the £200 barrier and sneak in the odd £5.50 game. Until then I will continue playing the same mtts, but it will be easier knowing that the beats won't hurt as much.

Will be playing the DTD's tonight, gl at the tables all.

You're still my hero for what you did that night......took some balls to buy in direct and to come so close to the seat was epic!!! At least you were rewarded with a cash though.

Thanks again all for the words of encouragement, I can afford to play the micro mtts and cope with the variance more now that my br has increased.

I didn't play in the end last night as I was too tired. I'm playing tonight though but I'm working away so relying on the hotel broadband connection!!!

Finished playing for the night. Started with the 4k turbo semi (£2.40) and busted in the mid stages. Pretty uneventful night really, played the £250/£500 BH's and the 2 deepys. A couple of deep runs, the main one being finishing 8 off the money in the £500 BH with 3 heads.

Had my play laughed at in the £1.10 deepy....was my exit hand. Blinds are 300/600 and I am in the sb with 10bb. There are 2 limpers so I shove with my 22. One of the limpers calls for 1/2 of their stack with KQ and they river the king to bust me...........was about to type nh gg until "22 lol" pops up in the chat box. I remained polite and replied "standard shove I had 10bb......especially after 2 limpers" when I wanted to say "yeah cos limp calling for 1/2 of your stack with KQ is great play!" lol. The response was was "yeah but 22 is such a cra p hand"..........I gave up and closed the table at this point!

The hotel broadband seems pretty reliable so will prob play a bit more during the week.

    BR = £173.93

no problem with the shove - 10 bigs and only limpers ahead of you so good chance you are not dominated if called - ul
  • edited August 2013
Standard shove Ryan I don't know why they are criticising
  • edited August 2013
Yep standard stuff.  I shoved in a similar spot last night in a tournament with 108 with 12bb.  Everyone had limped in and there was so much dead money out there it was worth a gamble.  Ofc I got called by KQ too,,, but i'll take those chances in a tournament in order to give myrself a good chance of winning... so correct play IMO.

Tonight I played the TPT game, It was a £5.50 buyin so slightly out of my br.......but I'm there to boost the fund for the team!!! I was allowed 2 invites and I'm not sure if I made the correct picks because they both cashed when there was only 3 places paid. Wp to them though, the team game is a bit of light hearted fun..........however I ain't picking them again!

Out of the other 3 mtts that I played I only cashed in one busting out on the ft bubble in the £2.20 deepy. Still, a cash is a cash.

Firstly - £5 is out of your BR? *ahem* nit ;)
Secondly (and more importantly) - No second invite?  Its not my fault I took out every TPT player I came across :P

Seriously though... was a good laugh.  Cheers for the invite. :)

    Haven't updated in a while.

So, whats been going on? Well, I have been mostly losing lol. Still been playing the usual mtts and taking a couple of heads here and there but yet to make the money!

I did something that I promised myself I would never do again.......I played 2 all in sats. These were a big factor in me going broke last time. I prob played 100 quids worth during the last UKOPS, I may have been SLIGHTLY addicted to them haha. With the next UKOPS just around the corner I need to be strong and not play too many (ideally don't play any).

I had about 30 mins on the 10nl tables last night, mainly to have a look at this new software. Lost 4 quid, which made my mind up about not going anywhere near 10nl again unless I have £250 and not £150! I thought the software was an improvement though, still a few things that need ironing out but it is better.

Tonight........I am going to play a £3.60 direct sat for the bounty hunter tonight and then play a couple of deepys/BH's as usual.

Quick note to finish............MO FARAH = LEGEND. Love watching the athletics, even though there are many big names missing this year due to injury or drug bans it should still be a good championships.

BR = £152.42.......gl at the tables all

Just been having a quick flick through this, just paying attention to your bank roll... it's great to see it slowly grow!

I also watched Mo earlier, he made it look like he only just won - he walked it really though. Saving himself for the 5k!

Anyway, seeing as I'm off college (just finished A-levels, waiting to go to uni) and I've wasted my super long summer so far, I'm thinking about starting a poker diary for myself. I have 4/5 weeks left off so it could be fun. All I seem to have been doing is checking Facebook every 5 minutes...

I'd need to learn a thing or too on the way though, I seem to be able to win (2p/4p cash tables) in the evening when everyone's home from work but I have no chance in the day! Well, so far. I haven't played much poker in the past few months either due to exams.

Hi. Thanks for the post. Starting a diary is definitely a good way to try and improve your game, you can post any hands that you are unsure of and there are plenty of people here who give great advice. A diary can also help with things such as bankroll management etc..

If you have 4/5 weeks off then a few games of poker is a great way of passing the time. If you need any advice on playing 4nl then the likes of craigcu, larson7 and tintin are the best people to ask. They regularly play and easily beat that level.

    Gl mate.
