The man, the bad influence, Slo-Mo, aka Simon Hawksworth.
Always dwells for 20 minutes on every decision, & when he plays golf, takes him 15 mnutes to putt out.
GREAT golfer though. Few can thwack a 3 wood off the tee the way he can, like a bullet.
He has been a terrible influence on my life.
He was probably responsible for me becoming Captain of Royal Ormonde Golf Club. He was a Past Captain at the time, & I think he put me forward for the job.
He also introduced me to Live Poker, at a dingy smoky upstairs place in Collyer Street Derby.
He introduced me to Spread Betting, too. Ugh @ the memory.
He must have cost me an arm & a leg one way & another. What a journey though, would not change it for the world, & I love the bloke.
He cashed in a WSOP jobbie this year, & I railed him across the bubble.
In Response to Re: The Sky Poker UKPC Six Max Mini starts today... : Ha! True.... I was looking for a 4 letter word to describe Frankie, thoiugh..... Posted by Tikay10
DTD get 99.5 out of 100, beat Cardroom ever. Why not 100? MUSIC! Jeez, the music does my head in. Posted by Tikay10
i agree about the music, last time i was there could not win a hand, down to 6bb and the music (dont know if thats the right word for it lol) was so loud i told someone and they agreed and got it turned down.
But still cant wait to get there saturday, whole week of live poker.
All of this coverage is great for the mini event but just wondering how come Sky never ran any sats for it's flagship event? Posted by DoubleAAA
If you mean for the UKPC 6-Max Mini Event, there was a good reason - there is always a reason for everything - but it's not something I can really discuss at this juncture, for commercial reasons, sorry.
Maybe next time, we shall have to see.
We have a Contract with our UKPC Partners @ DTD, both parties have certain obligations, all of which have been fulfilled, & some.
Yep and no Macac either....I see mother is there though. Yes Inoticed your swong! bad finish to the night but you will bounce back again! I had a nice run going and then lost my last one oops ...back to the start again. Posted by gerardirl
Mac has gone to Copenhagen, I believe, in a "surprise trip".
She'll be eating, wherever she is.
Yeah, I was going along nicely last night, planned to play 20, was going along OK, so decided to play another 10. BIG mistake, pah!
Rob Yong has just shown me the Bracelets the winners of each event will get.
These were the ones for the February UKPC. Jeez, I wanted one of those SO bad, & as that Omaha final progressed, I was in with a real shout, but I came up short.
The Bracelets this time are slightly different, they have a lok of gold about them, last time they were silver.

Tough table this.
Stripey top, fresh from his sparkling evening on Ch 861 earlier this week, James "MC" "Fido" Atkin.
Next to him is Mr Vinson. That'll be Ben or Adam. I wish I could remember which.....
True....

Amongst the late arrivals was none other than Stu Fox.
Also spotted, a real blast from the past, Nick Slade, a former member of the Blackpool Poker Mafia. No idea what he has been doing the last few years.
Current DTD music?
Chilli Peppers, Californication.
Excellent choice.
Great vid, too.
If you ever get chance to read "Scar Tissue" by Anthony Keidis, make sure you do. Extraordinary life Mr Keidis has lived. Good looking boy, too.

Late Entries for Day 1a have now closed.
Total entries today?
130!
Oh my, 130 entries today, chuffed to bits with that, & bodes well for the rest of the 6-Max Fessie.
74 remain, Blinds are 600-1,200/200.
Average stack 89,000.
REM, Losing My Religion.
They were never better than this, & once Mr Stipe got all precious, (Bono & Sting style), it was all downhill.
I gather they disbanded in 2011.
Great in their heyday though, before they prioritised helping Bono & Sting to save the world.
use the seat fri or saturday

Cardigans!
Nina is such a cute Perrson.
Jamie Hurst.
How cool does he look in those bins?
How many chips? Well, sadly, this is his seat now.
After a challenging start, the obstacles are being overcome, we are gathering speed, & having fun.
Might try & sit in a few PLO8 DYM's later, depending how things go here. Can't believe I'll be absent from the DYM's for 11 days, boo!
Have a good night if you play. I swong last night, when I was hoping to swing.
Almost 9 levels complete, with a total of 15 to be played today.
Incredibly, the 130 entries have already been whittled down to 59.
How many do you reckon will survive the day?
Think I'd be betting between 20 & 25.
I'd deffo go under if the line was 25.
She'll be eating, wherever she is.
Yeah, I was going along nicely last night, planned to play 20, was going along OK, so decided to play another 10. BIG mistake, pah!
Team 861 in the house.
Stu Rutter arrived late - VERY late - but has already spun his stack up to 95,000. (Average now 114,000).
His baby Bro, Tom, who is, I believe, a Doctor now (proper Dr, health bloke) is also going along nicely.
Brother Tom is a really great lad, reminds me a bit of of Prince Whatsit, the one who married Princess Cambridge.
The Brothers Rutter.
After a break, play has re-started, just 56 players remain, & the average must be approaching 120,000
Blinds now go 1,000-2,00/300.
By the final level of today - Level 15 - it will cost 15,000 per round just to sit there. Giddy-up lads.
All going well here, a good start to the Feytival, the first ever 6-Max affair that I am aware of.
This fella is expected to play tomorrow. He loves fast poker, so he'll be in his element.
I'll be on bokking duty.
The end of Level 10 approaches, & just 47 remain. Average is 138,000.
4 levels left today.
15 to survive?

Guess they are pure goldsilver.
A sudden influx of players signals the start of a "Live" Mega-Sat to the Mini.
30 runners at present, with 10 Seats Guaranteed.
"Don't Sepak", by No Doubt is currently playing.
Is Gwen the coolest lady dude ever ever ever?
