Three more of last years November 9, Dan Sindelar, Bruno Politano & Billy Pappas, former runners-up Jay Farber & Martin Stasko and former 3rd place finisher (to Johnny Chan & Phil Hellmuth no less) Don Zewin. Winners too are playing, the aforementioned Johnny Chan, Carlos Mortensen, Chris Moneymaker, Dan Harrington & Greg Raymer
Double 2015 bracelet winner Bryan Hastings is playing today too, as are Erick Lindgren, Eugene Katchalov, Dutch Boyd, Dominik Nitsche, George Danzer, winner of the online bracelet Anthony Spinella, Shaun Deeb, Annette Obrestad, Johnny Lodden, Ted Forrest & Jason Mercier together with Aussie cricketing legend Shane Warne.
British players playing today are of course headed by Daren, but Neil Channing has taken a small hit early, and listed with more or less the starting stack are Matthew Ashton, Stephen Chidwick, Adam Owen, Jake Cody, Chris Sly, David Vamplew, Steven Watts & Chris Moorman
The 5 Sky Poker qualifiers are: Daren Moreton Brett Gritton Matt Bates Martin Brinkmann Nicola Lategano As Tikay has mentioned Daren is the only one currently playing with the other 4 following suit tomorrow. Posted by Sky_SamT
Yes you have read that correctly, we have gone on dinner break 9 minutes early due to a storm outside that has meant the roof in the Brasilia room is leaking. Two tables have some water damage so theose two tables will be moved elsewhere after the break.
Daren is now around 10k. We are in level 4 with blinds at 150/300 with a running ante of 25.
Unfortunately Mr Channing is out. He got his last few thousand in with 77 but ran into 88. There was hope with a 7 on the flop but the inevitable 8 on the river. Neil has not run well this week.
WSOP66 - $777 Lucky Sevens NLH, 4422 entries, Day 4 of 4 The last of the preliminary events has gone to 25-year old from New Jersey Connor Berkowitz. He took his first WSOP bracelet beating John Armbrust heads-up. Berkowitz on $487K, Armbrust $301K.
Berkowitz only recently turned pro, is playing his first World Series and this was his first cash in only his second tournament. Nice strike rate that.
David Yu was third, and of the better known players Faraz Jaka ended 5th & Matt Matros 8th.
To honour the name of the tournament, the river card on the final hand was a complely irrelevant 7.
George Danzer gave the "Shuffle Up & Deal" speech shortly after his 2014 Player of the Year banner was unveiled, and 10 playing hours later he sits nicely positioned with a stack of over three times the starting figure.
He is one of 1154 players who have made it through from Day 1B (out of 1716, 18% down on last year) with the Day 1B lead (and the overall lead so far) going to Hamid Feiz. In fact, names suggesting Asian origin hold the top three places with Adil Khan & Srikanth Koneru in 2nd & 3rd.
As you would expect, lots of Brits through and as per yesterday I'm trying to list them all in descending chip order

Sky Qualifier Daren has a stack of just over 40K to take forward, and there's a few more who have been seen playing on Sky there too. Unfortunately Mr Ambassador does not appear to be amongst them.
Five former ME winners took part in Day 1B, and it looks like they all might have made it through - Johnny Chan, Dan Harrington, Carlos Mortensen, Chris Moneymaker & Greg Raymer
Finally, "Rain Stopped Play" is usually reserved for minor sports like cricket and tennis. On Monday, however, it affected Poker. An intense storm passed through Vegas, and some leaks in the roofs saw some tables in both Brasilia and Pavilion affected. Players had to bag chips and move to the Amazon room to continue. The WSOP are hoping everything has dried out because every space possible will be needed to manage the Day 1C field, by far the biggest of the three starting days.
Three players stand out here (other than Daren of course).
He's drawn a ME FTer, but not one many people remember these days. Pre the boom, in 2002 Robert Varkonyi won the ME, and the 6th placed finisher was Russell Rosenblum, taking home $150K. Two years later, he earned more than twice that when coming 5th in a $25K event at the Bellagio. He also cashed in the ME in 2010, 2011 & 2013, but has no recorded cashes at all this year.
In seat 2 there's a past bracelet holder, Naoya Kihara won a 6max PLO event back in 2012 for $512K, more than half his recorded earnings. He's had 4 tournament wins of over $10K so far in 2015, but none at the WSOP where the best of his 4 cashes was $4378 in Event 33. He is 2nd on the Japan all time money list.
Natasha Barbour is Jason Mercier's partner, and was the runner up in event 20 a few weeks ago. This earned her $284K, about half of her lifetime live winnings. She has also had 2 other far smaller cashes this year.
Frank Goulard has 4 WSOP cashes but none this year. 2 of those 4 have come in Seniors events, but his best run was in the 2014 ME when he earned over $25 for 445th place.
Andrii Nadieliaiev (there are several versions of the transliteration of his name) has a couple of 2015 WSOP cashes which when added together don't add up to the ME buyin. Going back he did well at EPT Prague in 2013, and his biggest ever cash was for $31800 at a Russian Poker Series event in Kyiv in 2011.
Patrick Steele had a good run in the Millionaire Maker finishing 22nd for $45k but most his cashes have come in something called the Mid States Poker Tour. He did win a Heartland Poker Tour event in 2013 for $155K beating Joe Cada among others on the FT.
Samuel Bernstein is another player with about half of his total earnings coming from one event, in his case the $105K he earned finishing 6th in a Borgata event in early 2012. He has 4 WSOP cashes, one of which was this year ($3622 in Event 59)
Rogen Chhbara has a more interesting name than Poker CV. 8 lifetime recorded cashes, 5th in a WSOP circuit event for $58K the best. His only WSOP cash was in a $1500 event last year (the one Scotty77 Final Tabled) where he ame 67th for $5762.
Daren's Hendon Mob page is a little lacking in big wins by comparison to most of the above, but this tournament would be a good place to start changing that!
Great to see our Daren went through with 40,000+ yesterday.
After the rain stopped play issue, all the tables & rooms got mixed up, we "lost him" completely, but the last time we were able to find him he had about 15,000. Must have been a spring finish by Daren - well done him.
Play starts here in 12 minutes, but it's nightmare city, trying to juggle my time between Mr Ambo & Dan, as we have to film the "shuffle up & deal".
Day 1C has now concluded, with the updates to follow as soon as the complete results are posted.
For now, though, a note of some of the players who won't be coming back
Last years winner Martin Jacobsen, fellow Scandi Patrick Antonius, two of the very best female players Jackie Glazier & Loni Harewood (who the updaters kept calling Loni Hardwood for some reason), Jeff Madsen, Jen Harman, Chino Rheem, Paul Volpe, 2+2 guru Kevin Mathers, Layne Flack, David ODB Baker, Mike Sexton, Rep Porter, more former winners in Joe Cada, Greg Merson & Jerry Yang, double November Niner Mark Newhouse, etc. etc. etc.
Brits Tom Middleton (despite him being the early chip leader), John Duthie & Liv Boeree also won't be coming back for Day 2C
Such a shame for Matt (and non qualifier RyRy) having this as 1 of those tournaments where nothing happens, but look at that list of players who also bust day 1, no shame being in that company!
Think we should be ecstatic with getting 4 out of 5 through to day 2
Out in in Vegas with mooch as his guest and his mate and I'd like to say good luck to him today for day 2 and also well done to all the other qualifiers who got throu day 1 played many live tournaments myself but this tournament realy takes it out of the players mentally and physically never seen mooch so totally wrecked after a tournament but he's well rested now and we'll up for today so come on mooch lets get Manchester on the poker map good luck mate
hi tk hoping your having a great time. been watching your updates on you tube ,and noticed when you were interviewing daniel negreanu, jimmy white the snooker player walked past behind you. anyway good luck ,hope you have a successful trip.
