I'm fine for 2 Jan.  Suspect we could do with a couple more on each team if possible, but might be easier for people to commit nearer the time. Looking forward to it already.

I found with the heads up comp that chatting to people in the chat box got good responses. (not everyone goes on the forum much)

Hi.

Please excuse my tactlessness.

I was unaware that Ice_Tiger's availability is based on his health.

So he is absolutely still a full part of the North's team.

I'm sure I'm not on my own in wishing you a speedy and full recovery Steve.

I really hope you are well enough to join in again in Dec/Jan. It was great having you involved in the "trial run", I really enjoyed our games, you are a very tough heads up opponent!

Thanks for all your support with this charity initiative. You are well liked by so many on Sky Poker. Everyone I speak to, holds you in high regard,

I am out of hospital so my health is better than last week.

However, if I am in good health, I intend to play the Grosvenor Christmas Cracker which has its Midlands final on 2nd January at Coventry. Assuming I am well enough to play this, only about 15% of players get through to the final day so the likelihood is that I will be available on 2nd January 2017.

Can I suggest we re-name this Xmas Ryder Cup match as 'The Steve Ball(Ice_Tiger) Memorial Cup' in honour of the Great Man and fellow 'OWLS' fan, if that's OK with his family, and I would like to change my team's nominated Charity to Steve's son Max's Just Giving Charity Page (for MacMillan I believe).

That's a fab idea Misty - perhaps Darkangel could consider doing the same?  I know she'd originally opted for the hospice my mum was looked after in - but I know my mum wouldn't mind at all xx

 Hilbrae Rescue Centre where they adopted a very special little dog who's absolutely adorable called splashie and also Severn Hospice where they supported Steve and his family throughout Steve's illness.

Hi guys, sorry for lack of replies, I am away at the moment.

I've been so saddened to hear the news regarding Steve, and absolutely, yes we will rename the Xmas Ryder Cup in his memory.

Please pass on my condolances to Steve's family. He was clearly well loved by so many.

Perhaps we can start proceedings, as before, with a captains match (with the players on the rail) and have a moments silence (just sit out) for the first blind level of the first captain's game in Steve's memory.

Yes, I think the new charity choices are very appropriate here. I only really knew Steve as Ice_Tiger, but I'm sure he would like us to celebrate his life and all that he stood for. His sportsmanship was a real credit to him, and he was so caring and considerate to his poker friends and I am sure, to his family too.

It is with a heavy heart that this will be taking place without Steve, as it was his idea to have a rematch sooner, as he had so much enjoyed the trial run.

RIP to a great and kind man.

If you need some help with a name misty can I throw in....... Southern Ice Balls.  The background on the teams colours also need to be swapped.

Someone out there from the clever department, could also design team emblems.

Maybe just southern Ice. Not an easy task searching for a name.Maybe best to draw up a short list as there's plenty of time.

Not been on the forum much over the last few days, so very sorry not to have added my condolences to Steve's friends and family.  I did not really know Steve, but he was my doubles partner in the previous Ryder cup, so I will be honoured to represent his charities in the revival under his name.

I've blanked the day out in my diary, so look forward to the games.
