Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Punta Cana Classic Live Update
Today is Day 1B of the Punta Cana Poker Classic, & around 25 qualifiers from Sky Poker will be playing.
We'll be posting chip counts, photos, bustouts & knockouts, & maybe a tale or two from the tables.
It'd be real good if we could get a rail going on here, to support our players in Punta Cana.
This is a rough list (subject to amendment) of who we think will be playing;

Play commences at 4pm local, which is 9pm UK, & will continue for 6 x 50 minute levels, with a 15 minute break every 2 levels, & so will conclude at around 9.30pm, which will be 0230 Friday back home.
OK, that's it for now, I'm off to bed.
See you later.
it's good that they are playing there in the Caribbean,
because they're not playing here in the UK.

A BIG UP! to RSPCA12 (Take it Down bud)
Morning All.
OK, we are all set. Nearly. Almost. Ish.
Before we get started, lets get the time difference thing sorted.
Here in Punta Cana we are 5 hours BEHIND the UK, so it is currently 11.55am, & play starts at 4pm local (9pm UK).
Today, they will play 6 x 50 minute levels, with a 15 minute break after every 2 levels.
So play will end for the day at around 9.30pm local (0230 UK), maybe a little later allowing for delayed restarts, poor punctuality etc.
Clear as mud.
Players start with 20,000 chips, plus an additional 5,000 chip "bonus" which costs $50. We will be arranging for our players to have the 5,000 chip bonus, so in effect they all start with a 25,000 stack.
Here's the blind levels today.....
Level 1 - 50 - 100
Level 2 - 75 - 150
Level 3 - 100-200
Level 4 - 100-200, with a 25 RA
Level 5 - 150-300, with a 50 RA
Level 6 - 200-400, with a 75 RA
A few other bits & bobs, then we are set.
It is a 4 day event.
The Prize Pool is guaranteed at $500,000, with entry set at $1,500 + $150.
There are 6 levels of Late Reg for those that have an early accident & feel so inclined.
An inadvertent misunderstanding arose this morning when I thought I saw him sitting alone at breakfast, so I plonked myself down at his table. He said something in German, which puzzled me somewhat, & then his wife, a big buxom German lass approached the table & looked at me gone out. It seems I was sitting in her seat.
I sort of slid away, tail between legs.
How DO these things happen, as Garrison Keillor famously wrote in Lake Wobegon Days after the central character accidentally left his wife at a Service Station after stopping for a slice of apple pie?
Pretty sure* James & Sam have made all the necessary MTT adjustments in readiness.
* May not be true.
We will try & post some photos, but as you know, the forum software is not exactly great for photos, but it is what it is.

I carted this suitcase all the way from London to Punta Cana via Paris.
What is inside it?
The cardroom is ready. Just need some players now.
The feeding station is ready. They "refresh" the food every hour. Pretty good actually. It's all free, obv.
The drinks station is ready......
Here's the luxury work-station that Justin & I will be sharing for the next 4 days.
OFFICIAL CORRECTION
This was WRONG.
"Play commences at 4pm local, which is 9pm UK, & will continue for 6 x 50 minute levels, with a 15 minute break every 2 levels, & so will conclude at around 9.30pm, which will be 0230 Friday back home."
In fact, LATE REGISTRATION is for 6 Levels. Play will continue, I gather, until well after midnight "local".
