Been tweaking. Haven't looked at anyone elses yet but as soon as I have posted I will be checking coverage and selections of others to see how I compare.
To assist with potentially adding formulas I have added the pool totals to the end column:

The top right column, (£75,291.28) is the pool BEFORE deduction, the one underneath it, (£54,963.00) is the pool AFTER deduction, the figures in the right column, under that are the actual units left.
The formula to calculate the equity is as follows: POOL AFTER DEDUCTION/UNITS LEFT* NUMBER OF LINES LEFT IN THE PERM * UNIT STAKE.
Is that something you can work with P66? Shall I email spreadsheet? Cheers,
Still in 5 after 3. Following on phone and have been backing my no1 pick each race so i can watch it. Making a real profit at least. Bound to bok in now as my nap is up next. Posted by Phantom66

Oh yes....TIME CHARTER was BRILLIANT
think TIME CHANGE is actually grand daughter but she looks pretty good. TIG TOG same owners as TIGGY WIGGY also named after owners daughter looked a surefire winner

I make it just 4, have I gone wrong? Perms 1,3,4 and 6 still live.
Decided to let it run coz extra place race so 4 places out of 11 runners for place part of treble and good chance of win too as horse was backed.... and it was using my £5 SKY FREE BET.
Madea profit at least.
GOOD LUCK with PLACEPOT PHANTS.... I still feel that shortish priced horses in multi perms won't be cost effective , but I'm interested to see if I'm proved wrong. I'd always prefer doing 1 perm with a BANKER, or 2 or 3 in each race.
PS Excel tip.... To easily calculate the number of lines in a perm from the table above I use the LEN function which calculates the number of digits (or characters - so will work with ABC) in a cell. So the "Lines" formula, e.g for Perm1 is =LEN(B4)*LEN(B5)*LEN(B6)*LEN(B7)*LEN(B8)*LEN(B9) Where B4 is the cell containing 12 for the 1st Perm and the 2.30 race Posted by Phantom66
Thanks for this, very useful. I just have to watch for trailing spaces and when I choose the FAVOURITE, I just put an X.

Sienna Says the danger
In the car's case it's mainly the VAT, in your case, it's the 30% that they take out the pool.
So you need to make 4% per leg to catch up.
The first leg you made 1.07%, but at least it is positive. GL!

Your £40 outlay has a current worth of £52.93, which is great as it means you have already covered the 30% margin and some.

I think I know how to semi automate this.
I will try and do it later tonight.
In the meantime if you do anything with it that may assist, please email it to me.
I will post on this thread when I start to work on it so that we don't duplicate effort.
