Hi P66. I think I know how to semi automate this. I will try and do it later tonight. In the meantime if you do anything with it that may assist, please email it to me. I will post on this thread when I start to work on it so that we don't duplicate effort. Cheers, G Posted by StayOrGo
OK, I am working on this now, will email you my results.
I will send you the starting spreadsheet, and then six more showing how it should be updated LEG by LEG.
the important thing is to only update fields in ORANGE otherwise the formulas will get messed up.
I am having trouble "protecting the cells", so have put cells in ORANGE that are manually updated, the rest should populate automatically.
On each sheet there are two versions. The top one is the one generated automatically by the formulas the bottom one is my manual version to use as a cross reference check. There are some minor differences in values due to rounding, with the automated one being more accurate.
Note that until the "UNITS LEFT" field is populated, it shows as an error due to trying to divide by zero.
There is a floor with the sheet in as much as when you update a LEG the values for the previous LEG change, so best to change previous leg to values rather than formulas as you go, I don't know if you did that?
Just to explain why I use ABC instead of 123 when I do my perms.
It's so I don't get confused when I place the bets.
As in my mind I say, for example, A is Horse number 5, B is 8, C is 10 etc.
If I started to say 1 is 5, 2 is 8, 3 is 10, I'd get very confused and would be more likely to make an error in bet placement, other than that I pretty much will use your template now.
When I put my actual ABC selections for each race in, I will use the horses number followed by the first 3 characters of their name, so that I can do it quickly but still have some form of cross reference, as it can get confusing when trying to place a lot of big perms on at the last minute.
Thanks again for sending me the new and better template.
It's a joint effort between me and G at the moment. I don't have the latest version yet due to compatability issues and I don't have your email address.
G has the latest version and your email so probably easier for him to send it to you?
Also doing a real life Quadpot at Chepstow based on above selections (mostly) 16,7,8 5,2 1,3,11 (miss-typed the 3rd selection - hope that doesnt come back to bite me) 3,7 £3.60 Posted by Phantom66
