Well what a fantastic experience, made all the more so by Tikay and Mark's regular updates, sounds advice and encouragement. Really enjoyed the tournament. I rode my luck at times, at one point on Wednesday I had less that 2k in chips. In the end I lost out in a move that could have taken me north of 100k, no complaints, no bad beat and no regrets! Thanks also for the support home and away. Updating the forum helped keep me focussed, thanks for tolerating the self indulgence. Good luck to the rest of the sky players, must be in a good spot from some really great results. Best Mattp Posted by mattprawn
Absolute pleasure to meet you Matt. And you done absolutely amazing to go so deep after you were sat on just 2k chips during day 1. Well played and congrats on the cash!
JCordy has made a big move up the leaderboard after his pocket aces were paid off. He is now sat with a towering 320k stack.
cpfc_2010 is missing in action. I have not heard anything official but he was nursing a shorter stack the last I visited and there is someone quite different looking sat in his chair.
Stacker is gaining even more momentum and now has 260k in front of him.
Nickd49931 is having trouble getting any traction at this stage and has around 60k. Hopefully he can find a nice spot soon.
Rektsai has really turned things around and now sat with almost 6 times what he had earlier in the day. He now has 160k and is looking very focused on the job in hand.
Some lovely chaps from the WSOP just wandered in with around 12 absolutely massive pizzas and told everyone to 'dig in'.
I could get used to this!
I will try and provide a bit more info on the numbers remaining, blind levels, current payouts etc on my next update. Will just tackle some of this pizza first...
As promised some details on the current blind levels etc...
The players get a 60 minute dinner break around now (8:30pm Vegas time) according to the WSOP site although the plasma indicates the break is around 9:pm. I am sure one of them will be correct but have no idea which one!
We are currently in level 16 with blinds at 2,000/4,000 with a 500 chip ante.
At most there are 271 players remaining with the current payout being $2,650.
Busto, cashed for $2,354. Me and my better have have had an absolutely cracking time. Now it's time to see what else vegas has to offer. Thanks ever so much to Tikay and the whole team, who have looked after everyone fantastically. Lastly just want to say that is has been a pleasure meeting each and every sky player out here, roll on Manchester. Posted by cpfc_2010
Well done cpfc, great effort and glad you have enjoyed your time over here.

Tremendous effort Matt, especially as you were on around 2,000 at one stage on Day 1, then only just made Day 2 after a harem scarem last few levels.
You were in intensive care early today, too, but you eased through the bubble & then took off for while.

What a run you had. Amazing stuff.
Jac told me you were a great chap, & I rarely believe him, as he is almost always wrong. He was right this time though.
Latest chip counts... JCordy - 320k (unchanged) Stacker - 240k (up 40k) Rektsai - 106k (down 54k) As promised some details on the current blind levels etc... Awesome, especially considering the current blinds.
4 levels remain today, & you are all in great shape to make Day 3.
All the remaining players have laddered up. With just 225 remaining in the Little One the three Sky players that are still in have locked up at least $3,012.
Plenty of atmo in Amazon - or what remains of it. 70% of the tables & chairs have been removed, leaving vast expanses of nothing but carpet. Both the Main & the Little One Drop are still in there, but that's only a collective 5-600 players, all squished up in the corner, like squatters who refuse to leave.
Down the corridor, Pavilion is completely empty, & closed off.
Miranda is part dismantled, only Brasilia remains intact. The Main Event will play to a conclusion there, maybe the One Drop, too. Not an easy room for updaters to work, as it's the ESPN hub, & the ESPN Gestapo soon shoo any interlopers away. Everyone is an interloper to ESPN.
All the merchandise stalls in the Rio Corridor are being dismantled, & the Poker Kitchen closed earlier this evening.
Still, on the plus side, for the first time since the end of May, there are no queues for the Restrooms.
4.5 (yes, four and a HALF) levels remain to be played this evening. By my calculations, that means play will not end until almost 3am. Hardly worth going to bed by the time I've had a choc ice & read my book for an hour.
Still, if we can get these three guys through to Day 3, it'll all be worth it.
RektSai got a full double up plus blinds and antes. His next hand was being dealt so rather than quiz him on the double up I let him get on with the fine work he is doing!
Had a lovely chat with RektSai's +1 (his brother) who plays poker full time and seems to have had a nice time over in Vegas. He plans to join Sky and if he plays anything like his brother he may make some waves.
The current blind levels are 2,500/5,000 with a 500 chip ante. I fancy things might start to move along even faster when the following level commences as the antes will be doubling. Blinds in level 18 will be 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante.
There are now also 25k denomination chips in play.
At most we now have 208 players left in the field.
Great to wake up to such good news. Keep it up to the three valiant warriors still fighting on, well done to everyone else. I'm sure this will increase interest if Viva Las Vegas is run next year,
Looks like 182 still in (bustouts recorded up to and including 183rd place) with the next ladder point about 20 players away when the payout leaps to $3454.
The average is around 260,000. Bokky McBokFace is about to post the latest chip counts for our three lads, but 2 of them are north of that, & one just below.

Nick precisely bubbled a $243 payjump but still collects $2,111.
Absolutely splendid effort Nick!
I have not seen him since his bustout so am not sure how his exit from the tourney came about.
You seemed to be enjoying the games when I visited your tables and you have put a sterling effort in, congrats!

See you in Manchester.

Been an absolute pleasure, as it was last year.

Dinner should taste good.

There are now just 216 bracelet hopefuls remaining.
GL chaps!
It's a bit surreal here right now.

It transpires that the Floor got the antes wrong in the current level, they were "charging" 1,000.
A bit of a protest ensued by angry poker plyers - ooohhhhh - & the WSOP admitted they were wrong & it should be 500.
So they have reverted to 500 now.
The players, of course, are chirping.
Told you so.
171 left.
The average is around 260,000. Bokky McBokFace is about to post the latest chip counts for our three lads, but 2 of them are north of that, & one just below.
Amazing stuff really.
JCordy - 280k
Stacker - 260k
RektSai - 225k
Well done!
I met stacker when I went to check on how many players remained in the field, he seemed to be raring to go.
GL guys!
excellent play by so many sky players.
well done all.
ps good work, marky, thanks.
pps good work, tikay, too.
RektSai seems to have moved up a gear, he has 320,000 now, which is 95,000 north of what he had when Bertie Bok last checked.
160 left.
152 left
The "half level" that was scheduled for tonight, & was on the Structure Sheet, has been cancelled.
So, 2 hours left before stumps are drawn.
