More 10 Seater, Affordable, Deepies? Yes, or No?

I think for this to work, it has to:

    - Start at 7pm

    - Be affordable but it must be same price everyday just for continuity (5.50 or 11 is fine for me, I'd be more inclined to say 5.50 because it is affordable to a greater % of players and the 8.15pm players may also play it)

    - Be up in the highlighted area of the MTT where people can see it

    - Be called something along the lines of 'Community Deepstack' or continue by naming the ones on other days after popular community contributors/presenters

    - Possibly needs a decent starting gurantee to attract players (£400?)

    - 10 steater tables - much more fun

    - Possibly have a league (Doesn't have to be run by Sky)

sounds good wont b able to play every night but wen i can will.

10+1 is better for me but im easy
  • edited August 2009
YES  £5.50 would be okay, but I do like the idea of a £3.30 tournament as it's more in keeping with my bankroll!  If a few of the regular players entered, that would be even better.  As far as starting time goes, around 7.30 would be ideal, I think.

We are really cooking now. And SpongeDoug - yeah, if it were £3, I'd still happily playb it. Maybe rotate it nightly - Monday £5, Tuesday £3, Wednesday £10, Thursday £5, Friday £10, da de da. If I can get a more more "ayes", I'll send this to Sky Bernie tonight - he da man.

    This would be awesome

Agree good idea if can be sub £5 buy in as the lower price tourneys are becoming scarce, maybe replace the russian roulette with low buy in deepies ......
  • edited August 2009
    YES

Throw in some under £5 too to get a wider range of players interested in this format.

Has to be better than the faster blind structured televised tournies.
  • edited August 2009
Yes yes yes! Deep-stacks are the only MTT I'm interested in. My bankroll can (currently) stand £11 but £5.50 is more comfortablist :-)

  • edited August 2009
i like the idea of a regular deepie at the same time every day .  agree with previous posts ,there should be some for people with smaller bankrolls  and for those who are learning how to play them. maybe 2 of these a week should have a buyin of 3.30.love and peace, pillow.

    Hey guys,

i have passed this on to our poker guys to look at.

    all the best,

    Rich
  • edited August 2009
Yes please, preferably £5 ones and maybe ones starting later - I have never been able to play the deepstacks because of the usual £20-plus buy in and their early start times!

    Well well well.

Thank you for responding so quickly.

I started the Thread at 4.11pm yesterday, within an hour it had 22 replies, & it's well over 40 now.

I sent a link to the Thread to Sky-Bernie last night, as I promised I would - & he replied to me this morning at 10am! And they say Sky Poker do not listen to us, the players.

    I think they doooooooooo.

Before I tell you what he said, please remember, nothing is cast in stone. He's made some proposals, & that'll be the starting point. It's impossible to please everyone, but I think his reply is a good balance to get us started.

PLEASE KEEP THE FEEDBACK & VIEWS COMING IN.

As I said, Sky Poker cannot be all things to all men, but it can try. But we, the Players, have to carry our share of the load, too, by making them aware of what we'd prefer to see.

    So, to Bernie's reply.......

Sky-Bernie, who carries responsibility for Tournament Scheduling on Sky Poker, & many of you have met at SPUKT Events, has informed me that......

He will Schedule a 10 seater, Deep Stack Tournament EVERY NIGHT, 7 nights per week.

I did not ask, but I assume the Structiure will be similar or identical to the current "Mick Jenn", "Spartacus", & "tikay Deepie" structures. (5,000 chips, 12 minute Blinds). Those Three Tourneys will remain, & be included in the "Super Slow Seven". This will NOT affect the Sunday Night DeepStack Showdown, which is unaffected by these new Tourneys & will remain "as is"

The Buy-Ins - to start with (remember, he will change these if a good case is made) will be.....

    Monday £5

    Tuesday £5

    Wednesday £10

    Thursday £10

    Friday £3

    Saturday £10

    Sunday £3

All plus the normal Reg-Fee, of course.

All of them will start at 7pm.

If you do not get in from work until 7.15, 7.30 or even 7.45, you can still play these, by buying in the night before. In 30 minutes, you'd barely Blind off 200 or 300 Chips, which is not really a big disadvantage.

So there you go. We asked, we got.

Keep the Feedback coming, though. It's important.

I'm particularly pleased that he's included a couple of nights at £3. I will play these every night that I'm Online, including - especially - the £3-ers, & I'll word up the other PTP-ers to do the same. I know Rich Ofrord will play the £3-ers when he can. There is no reason why those who only want to lay out £3 or so should not be given the same decent structures as the Big Boys, which is something that APAT have fought very hard for in tghe Live scene, so I'm like a bear with two tails today - delighted.

I'll also ask some of the Sky Poker Hotshots, like Solack, Nutter, Anjie, MadMoo, Maka, Phil, Flash, Mere, MASSIE (& many more) to support these Tourneys.

So it's down to us to support these Tourneys now. It's that simple.

    But there's MORE good news.........

Want FREE ENTRY (worth £22) to next week's Five-00?

All you have to do is........

    (more to follow)
  • edited August 2009

Come up with a name, or names, for these new Tourneys.

The "Mick Jenn", "Spartacus" & "tikay Deepie" will all retain their current titles, for now, anyway.

But names are needed for the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, 10 Seater Deepies.

    So, suggest some names, please.

    It can be generic -

"Thursday Forum Deep Stack" (or Fri, Sat, Sun),

or "£3 (or £5 or £10) Forum Deep Stack".

Or ANYTHING, really. Name it after popular players or Presenters you like (or even Orford), individual names each night. or just a snappy name, "£5 Sky Sleepie". Or whatever.

Sky-Bernie will judge the Entrants, & the Winner gets free entry into next Thursday's Sky Sports Simulcasted 5-00.

    You may begin........NOW!
  • edited August 2009
I think they should all be called sleepstacks.
How about a one off tourney with the top 4 having a day named after them.

Guys - for the avoidance of doubt, the DTW Post has nothing to do with this Thread - it refers to the Sunday Night Deepstack Showdown. Not complaining, just don't want anyone to get confused!

    Don't be silly!

    Serious entries only.

Honestly, if one gets named "The Orford", I'll happily pay a serious forfeit.

    It ain't gonna happen.
