Pap - you asked me, repeatedly, to sort something, & I'm doing exactly that, in the manner I said I would.
There are currently two 10 Seater, "affordable" Deepies on Sky Poker every week. There is the Mick Jenn, (5 + £0.50) every Monday or Tuesday, & the tikay Sleepie every Wednesday, which is £10 + £1. Both of them get tidy fields - between them, they aggregate about 200 players each week - and personally, I love these. I csn get 3 or 4 hours play most nights, it's usually 8 or 10 spots paid, & as far as I'm concerned, they are as good as it gets for "regular" Tourneys. I'm Online tonight, & really quite disappointed that we don't have one of these tonight - I'll miss it. But if we ask for it, & if enough players want it, we COULD have these nightly - starting almost immediately. IF YOU WANT THEM........ So if you DO want them just post on this Thread, all you have to do is say this. Yes. And what entry fee you'd prefer. Say, £5 + £0.50, or £10 + £1. Like this...... Posted by Tikay10
yes i think 1 a night would be good with a larger 1 on the sunday starting at 6.00pm with 15 min blinds 10000 chips and a maximum of 2000 players at a buy in of £50. Qualifiers should run all week 1 in 10 qualifying.

Im not sure Tikay .... your asking the right question..... the question should be .....
Sould Sky torneys be standard 10 seaters and lets have a few 6 seater torneys for those who like that format
I play poker every day .... i have over 30 poker sites on my lap top and play on most of them from time to time .... but why is sky the only site to make 99% of its tables and torneys 6 seater. I HATE IT ! and thats why i very rarely play here...... what does sky know about poker torneys that the other 100+ poker sites that i have played on dont?

Your style of play is somewhat lucky because it is aggressive, however, against a similar player like myself it is hard to make it work, I don't dissagree with your style of play Dohhhhh because it works for me, however I think your posts are sometimeds a little crude and non helpfull to the forum.

Thanks for that reply..... DOHH ....... I dont find your answer aggresive .... just dismissive. i have a few questions
1 why are you quoting my question when it is directly above your reply?
2 is there any reason why you have not answered any of my valid points?
3 why do YOU presume that poker players who like 10 seater tables are TOTALY void of real poker skills , moves , flair?
4 why do YOU presume that poker players who like 10 seater tables only have the skill of discipline (zzzzzzzzz ???) ?
5 why do YOU think the WSOP (the world cup of poker) is run on a 10 seater format ?
6 are you saying that all the great players who enter the WSOP are void of "real poker skills , moves , flair and discpline "?
7 in the quote above can you tell me where you are complementing the site?
lets face it .... i have never seen you play and am not interested in seeing you play .... i see you have made $513 profit in the 6 months you ve been here but i gather you are a loose aggresive and the 6 table format gives you an edge ..... i prefer tight aggresive play where the 6 table format puts me at a disadvantage over a player like you. The reason for my post is i would like to play at sky on 10 seater tables/torneys where i think ALL my poker skill can make me a profit.... but your "Nooooo Nooooo Noooooooo!! " answer is just saying im (you) a loose aggressive and i dont want things to change ..... so i guess you cant make your "real poker skills , moves , flair and discpline " work on a 10 seater table ....or why would you object to more 10 seater torneys
Wow thats alot to go at. - Firstly i quote peoples posts coz I always start typing then forget bits of info and have to copy n paste my reply while i go back and look at the msg again!
Playing 10 seater tables you obviously need skill, but its a watered down version. Like watching a test match or a one day match in cricket. Im sure they have skills, and these skills will be more noticable when playing more hands, ie at a 6 seater table. More hands played the more likely the better player will win? no?
WSOP point - when was the last time a pro won? Im sure if they played the WSOP with 6 seater tables, pro's would be alot more successful, as they play more hands meaning the skill factor has more chance to shine through! They may have problems finding that many tables, i dunno!
The Noooo Noooo Nooooo was just my instinctive reaction, your right I would hate to see the majority of the tournys being played on 10 handed tables. Im sure if there was a higher demand for them they wud be more?
As for complimenting the site - I suppose theyre trying to make poker more 'fun', more action packed encouraging raising, aggression, mixing your play up, rather than sitting there waiting for premium hands.
Theres deepstacks all the time for the TAG's both 6 handed and 10 handed I gather?
N as for my stats - Only been playing here properly about 6 weeks, maybe enter 2 tournys a week, Im a cash player.

Hi AndyBee.
Good Post.
However.....
Some time back, in response to many requests, all the 7pm Deepies were changed to 10 Seaters, & many other Tourneys were, too. Sky Poker thought that was what the players were asking for, & so responded positively.
And there was BEDLAM, an absolute OUTRAGE from those who werre incandescent with rage that the 6 Seaters had been largely removed. You had to see it to believe it. There were petitions & all sorts!
So Sky Poker reverted to mainly 6 Seaters (though 6 of the 7 7pm Deepies are 10 Seater) & everyone was happy.
So that's the history of it.
Had they reverted to 10 seaters, there is no doubt a lot of business would have gone elsewhere.
Me? I'm not fussed, I'lll play either happily, it's just poker, after all, & it's good to adapt to different formats. I was not asking for myself, & frankly, I don't mind either 6 or 10 seats. My questions were not on behalf of myself, I was trying to see what the players were saying, so I could take that to Suit-City.
Each have their plusses & minuses, though 10 Seater is more slkilful, with 6 seaters suiting aggressive players better. IMO, of course.*
* = Light blue touch paper & retire to a safe distance.
yes tikay more more i ask and i may not keep taking u out in them i enjoyed your sleep stack last night as not only did i take u out i won my first deep stack yippeee!!!!!!!! and i had been on such a bad run aswell
First thank you DOHHHHHHH for your 2nd responce..... much better ..... but i guess you and me are just going have to agree to disagree...... you like 6 seaters as it suits your style and you are making a profit at 6 tables ..... and you think it is a more skillful version of the game.
I think 10 seaters are much better as i find it more suitable to my my style of poker of gerally tight aggressive .... i think it is more skill full ..... but i know both games require alot of skill to play ..... but my arguement its that 6 seaters are too much of a c r a p shoot as the opening range of starting hands is so wide its almost impossible to put anyone on a certain hand ..... post flop its also imposible to price anyone out of a call with out putting you torney on the line .... it just encourages bad beats ...... i bet if asked a player to play 1000 $10 torneys at a 10 seater and list his bad beats i guess he could list 400 if you ask the same same player to play 1000 $10 torneys at a 6 seater he could list 800
I have played alot of sit and goes ..... so i know how to move though the gears ....at a 10 player sit and go if the table is passive i can play loose agressive un till we are down to 6 players then i move to tight untill down to 4 players and then i lossen up again untill were down to the last 3 then i tighten up again until down to the last 2 then basck to loose and very agressive. OR at a 10 player sit and go if the table is loose agressive i can play tight agressive un till we are down to 4 players and then i lossen up untill were down to the last 3 then i tighten up again until down to the last 2 then basck to loose and very agressive.
i just think we will have to disagree ...... both require skill but in my opinion 6 has alot more element of luck
i just want to thank you Tikay for the reply

it is realy good to get a reply from one of the presenters (my fav).... thanks for telling me some of the history of sky trying to introduce 10 seater torneys after alot of requests the all h e l l being let loose...... but i think sky have messed up ....if you look at my profile i joined about 3 to 4 years ago but i do not play here beacuse of the 6 seater format .....but have played enough else ware to get 10 royal flushes so you can gess how many hands i have played on other sites ...you say "there is no doubt a lot of business would have gone elsewhere" i understand that but do the bean counters and the suits upsairs know how much bussness they have lost/not attracted because of there dission to change back to mainly 6 seater. Did they look at all the players that originally requested 10 seater ..... "response to many requests" how many of those players are still playing on Sky ...... i bet its less than 10% so bussiness went anywere
Love your comment

Final coment .....
it would be nice to see some other forms of the game .... love omaha .. omaha hi/lo Razz and Horse .... why not run some $25 no point freerolls to get people into it
Yea I agree Andy that were gonna have to agree to disagree!
ALtho I cant let it go without making one last point about ur previous post.
U said its harder to put someone on a hand at a 6 seater table rather than a 10 seater one? Sureeeely that demands a higher level of skill?? If it was easy, everyone wud be able to do it, then there is no game!
I dnt understand why sky dnt offer tournys which offer structures to suit both games. I wud be gutted if they removed the 6 seater tournys and replaced them with 10 seaters, but offering both wud be fine? Even if the usual 6 seater players, if some of them leave the 6 seater tournys to play the 10 seater ones, this is fine, as the option is there. Reduce the prize pool. No problem.

Thanks for the reply Dohhhhhhh yes we will disagree but its nothinking personel ..... but the above quote can work both ways ....... you say "Sureeeely that demands a higher level of skill??" ..... but i could post the same line .... Sureeeely that demands a higher level of LUCK??
it can work both ways ...... if you say you can tell what a players holding cards are when he has an opening range of 300 starting hands .......is skill or luck ..... yes you can get a feel on the river ..... but its still only a feel ..... im sure you have develope that skill to prdict a wide range .... and you proberbly have an edge maybe your feel is 60% right .... but what im saying if you know players have only a starting range of 100 starting hands ..... then your working from a feeling of say 80% right
Andy Bee
i aggree with your final point that shy should provide both ....... so we can be all happy but i watch sky poker on tv and have never seen a 10 seater torney ..... Joke .....

Most people would agree that there are only 169 possible starting hands in poker (ignoring suits) so an opening range of 300 starting hands is VERY wide.
SkyPoker doesn't televise 10 seater tournaments because their software can't cope with it. There is a 10-seater tournament at 7pm each evening (except one).

Not sure "Most people" would agree ..... a tight rock may say there are only 20 hands i would open with and a loose cannon will open with any hand especialy when in position even from your staitment (ignoring suits) well if people are playing then lets not ignore them ..... in a 6 seater and the first 4 limp in with a bb call then 5th and 6th have the odds to call with almost any 2 cards ..... lets ad them to the list ...... if players limp in to and let the bb have a free ride .... so lets add them to the list ..... when we get to post flop if any player catches bottom or mid pair .... cost efecvtive to price him out almost impossible on a 6 seater.... I'll set you a challenge watch a whole night of sky poker and count how many times the presenter says well hes priced in with any 2 cards (i bet its over 20 so lets add them to the list) .... if i got a $1 for every time they said that i could retire! so VERY wide is not a true statment

your second point ...... has anyone from sky poker ever wrote to you and said they cant show a 10 seater.... i realy doubt it ..... they could show it ...its just that all there main poker torneys are 6 seater ....which is my whole point.... the poker channel (pre sky ) showed 10 seaters all the time ...... no poker site is going to say our sortware cant cope with it. You're very welcome and thank you for your civil reply. However, you seem to have completely mis-understood my post.
If there are only 169 possible starting hands, it is impossible to have 300 of them in your opening range. I was making an (admittedly poor) attempt at humour. I will add a "smiley" next time to let you know.
Also, SkyPoker have said on several occasions (including on this forum) that they are unable to televise 10-seater tables.
Absolutely spot on - I always go for the deepstacks as its such good value playing time, preferrence would be a selection of £2.00 £5.00 & £10.00 would be best giving players options. One fotmat I have enjoyed was the Monday night 19:00 'players name / bounty deepstack as it gave an extra interest. You will normally find me on line on Friday & Monday nights as her in doors has the soaps on - any excuse is good enough for me

Anyway my opinion on 10 and 6 seaters is............ lol ;-) (just joking)
yes tikay more more i ask
and i may not keep taking u out in them
i enjoyed your sleep stack last night as not only did i take u out i won my first deep stack yippeee!!!!!!!!
and i had been on such a bad run aswell
OR at a 10 player sit and go if the table is loose agressive i can play tight agressive un till we are down to 4 players and then i lossen up untill were down to the last 3 then i tighten up again until down to the last 2 then basck to loose and very agressive.
i just think we will have to disagree ...... both require skill but in my opinion 6 has alot more element of luck
it is realy good to get a reply from one of the presenters (my fav).... thanks for telling me some of the history of sky trying to introduce 10 seater torneys after alot of requests the all h e l l being let loose...... but i think sky have messed up ....if you look at my profile i joined about 3 to 4 years ago but i do not play here beacuse of the 6 seater format .....but have played enough else ware to get 10 royal flushes so you can gess how many hands i have played on other sites ...you say "there is no doubt a lot of business would have gone elsewhere" i understand that but do the bean counters and the suits upsairs know how much bussness they have lost/not attracted because of there dission to change back to mainly 6 seater. Did they look at all the players that originally requested 10 seater ..... "response to many requests" how many of those players are still playing on Sky ...... i bet its less than 10% so bussiness went anywerei just want to thank you Tikay for the reply
Love your comment i would like to light that blue touch paper
Final coment .....
it would be nice to see some other forms of the game .... love omaha .. omaha hi/lo Razz and Horse .... why not run some $25 no point freerolls to get people into it

No problem.
Ii dnt see why it shud be one or the other!
DOHH
it can work both ways ...... if you say you can tell what a players holding cards are when he has an opening range of 300 starting hands .......is skill or luck ..... yes you can get a feel on the river ..... but its still only a feel ..... im sure you have develope that skill to prdict a wide range .... and you proberbly have an edge maybe your feel is 60% right .... but what im saying if you know players have only a starting range of 100 starting hands ..... then your working from a feeling of say 80% right
Andy Bee
i aggree with your final point that shy should provide both ....... so we can be all happy but i watch sky poker on tv and have never seen a 10 seater torney ..... Joke .....
SkyPoker doesn't televise 10 seater tournaments because their software can't cope with it. There is a 10-seater tournament at 7pm each evening (except one).
its good to get a reply .... but alas... i still think your barking up the wrong tree and not resolved the main question......
In Response to Re: More 10 Seater, Affordable, Deepies? Yes, or No?: Not sure "Most people" would agree ..... a tight rock may say there are only 20 hands i would open with and a loose cannon will open with any hand especialy when in position even from your staitment (ignoring suits) well if people are playing then lets not ignore them ..... in a 6 seater and the first 4 limp in with a bb call then 5th and 6th have the odds to call with almost any 2 cards ..... lets ad them to the list ...... if players limp in to and let the bb have a free ride .... so lets add them to the list ..... when we get to post flop if any player catches bottom or mid pair .... cost efecvtive to price him out almost impossible on a 6 seater.... I'll set you a challenge watch a whole night of sky poker and count how many times the presenter says well hes priced in with any 2 cards (i bet its over 20 so lets add them to the list) .... if i got a $1 for every time they said that i could retire! so VERY wide is not a true statment
In Response to Re: More 10 Seater, Affordable, Deepies? Yes, or No?: your second point ...... has anyone from sky poker ever wrote to you and said they cant show a 10 seater.... i realy doubt it ..... they could show it ...its just that all there main poker torneys are 6 seater ....which is my whole point.... the poker channel (pre sky ) showed 10 seaters all the time ...... no poker site is going to say our sortware cant cope with it. Sky could show 10 seaters but just chooses not to ....shame on them!

I hope that this clears things up for you.
First class good value poker (3 or4 hrs poker for £3.00) played mostly by a good standerd players in good sprit very enjoyable thankyou
