Played 1 table of nl40 and 1 table of nl30, didn't really notice that much difference. Was only 1 table of nl40 playing and was wondering if this was the norm. Do most people either play nl30 or nl50 and miss out the nl40 stage? Will continue to play one of each nl40 and nl30 when not enough nl40 tables available.
Nl40 does appear slightly harder and I probably need to be less aggressive till I am more comfortable at this level. Played the following hand and looking back should have probably put him on FH, but couldn't see him having two j as I held one. Thought he prob had set and it was the right long term percentage play, thoughts welcome.
the only difference i have noticed its a little more "refined" at nl40/50 as you know "mad as hatter at nl4/8, in general v aggressive at nl10/20/30. 40/50 i have found the agg is turned back and its more subtle, picking up smaller pots from pos and slower and more trappy at turn and river. just my ob anyhows. gl mate see you soon. ps be gentle with me phil
Lost £4.40 in a Deepstack sat and the rest playing nl40. Have decided to move back down to nl30 and stay there until I have reached £700. Reason for this is I don't think I played that bad but did find that the style I play at nl30 probably need some minor subtle changes to be successful at nl40. I, therefore think I need to approach nl40 with a BR of £700 and a stopgap of £500. This gives me 5 buy ins to play with. So it is back to nl30 but first tonight I am entering the 8pm deepstack, looking for that big cash.
So I hear you ask, where have you been? Or maybe you don't.
There are 3 words to explain where I have been.

What a great game. I had found myself becomig stale playing nlhe and decided to give PLO a try, and I have to say it has truely reinvigorated my love of poker. I am currently playing nl20 cash and holding my own, currently showing a 20bb/100 profit, early days yet on a small sample size. The only problem is that there is a real lack of traffic at skypoker at this level and game. Also due to the rake and variance of the game I have been informed, via another popular forum, that you really need a rakeback deal to survive at this game. This has lead to me having to ply my trade at another site. What I would say though is that anyone finding poker a bit stale after playing nlhe for a while give PLO a go. It really is a great game once you remeber that you have to use 2 cards from your hand. Would love to see SKYPOKER become a big player in the PLO market as I really can see this as the future of poker.
Having tried PLO at another site I have decided it is not the game for me. Although it is fun to play the variance is unbelievable and with my tendancy to tilt I have decided to return to my old favourite NLHE. I may venture on to the PLO tables now and again, depending on how lucky I feel. I am now going to make a concerted effort to build my BR to £1000 and will being really concentrating on the nl30 cash tables and trying to avoid the temptation of the MTT's. Thank you SKY for my £18.75 cash for points for last month, it all helps.
Decent session winninf nearly 1BI for 1 hours play. Have to say the joy of SKY Poker is that at nearly every table there appears to be at least 1 fish willing to give up all their money. This has to be the major difference between sky and other sites. I find I consistently win at 30nl whereas at all the other sites I have played I really struggle to break even at nl25, and when you consider other sites are played in $ this make sky so appealing. Long may it last. Have noticed forum seems a lot quieter recently and was wondering if there was any reason for this.
Entered the 8pm rebuy and finished 95th, didn't rebuy but did add on so cost me £21. Then lost £22 on nl30 cash tables. Played OK but didn't run that good. Lost my money on a stupid hand I played like a real idiot. Too embarrassed to show and as soon as I pressed call for £18 I knew I shouldn't have as at best I was 40 / 60, this is the gambler in me and part of my game I must eradicate. On a different point I am keeping my fingers crossed that my cash out from Stars that was processed 2 days ago hits my bank account with all the stuff that's going on out there. Defo will be sticking to the big Euro sites for the forseeable future.
Logged on to site at approx 6pm and there was only 1 nl30 table running, so joined waiting list and decided to chance my arm on a nl40 table. This turned out to be an inspired move as 1st hand A,A and managed to win £30, second hand A,K, suited and managed to win another £20. Continued on this table for the session and maintained my early winnings. Joined nl30 table and ran like a god to start with as well and had quickly doubled my buy in, then continued to chip away and ended up with a tidy £108 profit in an hour and a half. On top of this the Villa more or less made themselves safe and my Stars withdrawal from a couple of days ago looks as though it has gone through without any hitches. Now just waiting for a nice big lottery win to end the near perfect day. Oh damn just remembered I have to go to work in a mo, not quite the perfect day.
One of those sessions, never really gota any cards, no moves came off on acopule of relatively tight tables and played following hand awfully. Try again tomorrow.
A strange, but enjoyable session. Below is my biggest losing hand of day, don't think I could get off it, but any thoughts appreciated. Afte having run badly and played pretty badly, tried to many moves and played far to loose, I was about £80 down and then was rscued by the other 2 hands below, this is why I love SKY Poker.
Just make sure you put some space in the empty post before starting to post hand histories, i.e.

Played the Open and finished 20th for £17 profit, went out when all in with a,j against a,9 pre-flop for 22,000 chips and 9 hit the flop. Played the TSP and just missed cash finishing 25th. Really do have that feeling a big one is just around the corner.
Also played some nl30, on a fun table with Ozzie08 and Pod1, managed to grind out £12 profit.
Transfer out of bankroll from Stars has hit my bank, did withdraw 3 days before **** hit the fan, must be psychic although judging by my poker I am probably not.
