you are being daft debs. The burden of proof is on the people who have doubts. Not the people who trust.

I think not my friend,do you remember the post i made a while back? the post concerning you will only ever see 33% of the cards in any deal on a 6 handed table? AND it is 60/40 in favour of the cards between 2 and 9? The exact maths equat to the FLOP TURN and RIVER as well, soz dohhh but MOST of these deals ARE only generated for action due to the very very low traffic on this site,it HAS to rely on lots of action OR the site simply could NOT survive.

I don't think they're trying to survive, they're trying to expand, and become big in the world of poker.

Why would sky as a business, set up a poker site, just to survive in the market.

    They wanna be big.....

Just look at the number of professional players on here....???

Sorry to see u go denis, u did a lot of good work in the forum.

Interesting thread, read all the posts and definitely something to think about.

Looking at primo tonight, 2000 chips, 15 minute blinds and after 50 minutes blinds 30/60 100 players out of 302 are out.

Are there that many bad players on here with £55 to burn or are they being dealt cards they feel they have to play?

I do have an account on ft which i opened in a moment of anger after one to many bad beats on here but have never used.

May deposit and play on there for 3 months to earn the bonus and see if its any different to here.

    Be lucky.

In Response to Re: These regular action hands, its all starting to look a bit siily now. : no but they generate the action - if you fail to at least understand that point then I give up i'll prob play over a thousand sit n go's on here this month, and at least that amount on another site too (in an ideal world I wouldn't have to, but Sky's traffic ain't great) how many hands that equates to I don't know. but I can honestly say that I don't think there's any difference, apart from the standard is higher elsewhere

There is a difference in action and action hands. I see more big hand confrontations on here than anywhere else.

If you're playing that many tables your not going to see much of the hands you're not involved in.

What's that got to do with the price of kippers.

    Ahhhh I dunno.

Nobody has responded to my point about the people who make a living by playing on sky.

Some of whom, have resigned from their jobs to do so......

How could they do this, if they had any doubts about it's validity?
  • edited February 2011
I can't speak for any of them personally but most poker players exist because of the rake.

It would be interesting to see how many of them would be on here if Tikay retired. In fact it would be interesting to see the site numbers if that happened. Whatever they pay him it's probably not enough.

    i only play 4-6 tables

poor players normally results in more players to the flop with 'junk' hands, if these hands were not still in, then alot of flops would contain less 'action cards'

I think when people are referring to action cards they mean the ones with a lot of paint on them.

Sorry Gary but I think you are just posting coolers here.

KK v AQ & JJ v 10 10 is just standard tbh. Hardly mind blowing bad beats that seem to be occuring on here at a greater frequency compared with other sites, which is essentially what this thread is about.

Perhaps you could start your own thread like DJ's and post your coolers on there :))

This thread is about 'action hands'. Some people seem to think they're standard fare on Sky, yet rarely seen on PokerStars. Well they don't really come any better than flopping KJT when the hole cards are KK and AQ!

Heres a fun hand at FT

Blind on Blind with a raise:

    my 44

    Flop comes QQ4.

Guy bets into me, I call

    QQ4  Q

Dont like it, guy bets into me again, I call.

    QQ4Q   7

I check he checks back and flips 27.  How often do you see 27 crack a flopped boat? pretty darn sick :(

Seen some real doozies today - my favourite being 3 players hitting their flush on the turn. Luckily I wasn't In the hand.

Yes, it does seem amazing how every time you have top pair or a set and there are (say) two hearts on the flop, you bet out, they call, the turn is another heart, and lo and behold they have two hearts. To turn a 9 outer is a little worse than 4/1, but there's simply no way it comes 1 in 5. More like 9 in 10. Maybe it's what they call variance, so in the long run it should level out.
