    $20k!
Sounds good. I like to look at any profits in $ as well. Losses I always change to £ before I search :)
Seriously, well done, it's a real achievement.
I just skoped you as well.
Did you know that you were the 19th best player on Sky in 2011?

Dunno if anyone is still (or ever was) interested, but I've just got my skope up to $20k profit, and hit the target I set myself on October 1st. http://imageshack.us/f/31/0kp3.jpg/ Really pleased with how I played tonight, I've never felt this good about my game before, hope the hard work continues to pay off. There may be some mileage in the staking thing I tentatively mentioned in an earlier post too. GL all playing tonight!

Funny enuf, I watched a few of your "HU Hyper Whoosh" games and altho it went way over my head....I gotta say you crushed!

Sick graph!! Just wondering why you don't play higher since you must have a pretty decent BR by now? I'm almost tempted to give HU sng's a go.. My HU game was once quite strong but not played it in a while so it's probaby not as good as it used to be! I also used to be horrible at shallow stack poker but think I've improved somewhat now at that!!

Atm I'm really not sure where my main game lies. Kinda fallen out of love with NL holdem cash atm and only playing PLO cash games and tournaments. Not binked a major tournament yet but had a lot of progress over the past couple months!

mtts are a funny creature. As perfect as you can play you might not still can win, obviously it helps.

I'm sure a "major" victory won't be far away.

Although i guess it also depends on what you class as major.

    Congrats on 20k jj.

    I lol'd :D

Yes, but that's not as good as it sounds.

The site was very new and there were only 22 hu SNG players on the site back then.

2 had blocked their stats on skope to avoid scaring fish, and the other was Greghogg.

Thanx, I think I'm about a grand ($$$ fake money) away from being the 19th best again this year, could be another mini target!

    Thanks Teddy.

The early bink was my 1 and only MTT success on here.

Dunno if you were around back then but there used to be a poker 'league' on here where the top 150 cash/sng/mtt players each month were invited into a monthly freeroll where the top 20 players won a £220 seat into a monthly 'doublestack' thing. Similar to the rollers now.

I managed to freeroll in and finish 2nd for £2.2k.

I remember the mtt very well, I cracked AA with AKs all in pre flop with around 25 left (from 60 runners).

I also won 99 v QQ aipf when I was all in and called approaching the bubble.

I bust TK on the final table JJ /> ATo.

Don't remember the HU. Selective memory :)

Hows your HU going, have you moved up stakes yet? What times do you normally play?

Cheers Pad, you mean last night?

I did run pretty well, the amount of Kx 'get theres' I did against Ax was insane.

Also felt I played really well too to get 'ahead of the game' early.

I got to 1.5k v 500 a lot going into the higher blinds, takes a lot of pressure off the first 'flip' when the worst case scenario is I end up back @ 1k v 1k if I lose!

Doesn't always happen like that though, sometimes I can't win a hand and end up having to shove for my life!

    Thnx again :)

    Thanks Ivan.

I've tried and failed many times to move up stakes. Both @ cash and sngs.

    Everytime it's gone wrong.

I'll attach a graph of all my HU sngs above £21 buy in. It's very grim.

I just blow up mentally everytime I go for it, so I just stopped going for it! :(

Might try again soon though :)

I remember watching you play HU v coxylboro back in the day, 2/3 tables of around 200nl HU? Was great viewing. There were some other ongoing HU 'reg battles' back then too, they don't seem to happen anymore.

I think you should stick with PLO & NLHE cash.!

    Please :)

Ta Steve. Not sure whats next, I only intended to bring the diary back for a month during November to try and hit my target. Fell abit short and wanted to get there so just continued for a few more sessions.

No idea what next, probably keep grinding bits of everything as usual.

I play MTTs on other sites but I haven't got anywhere in any of those for ages, which is normal but annoying/boring.

    Meh dunno, any ideas?

Having today off, spose I'll log on tomorrow and just play whatever I feel like playing.

Up for another best of 5 tomorrow/Sunday afternoon?

Haha thats a class binkage. And you remember knocking out TK more than missing out on first place, gg
    lol.

Been using hu profits to add to the prize pools of mtts, which I really stink at but am trying to improve on. I tend to play hu if I have a morning off. Ive forayed into 2s and 3s but I have confidence issues tbh. Moneys tight in real life so any negative variance or spew sends me scurrying back to what I see as my percieved level.  Rewards payment today will put my br over a numerical milestone for the first time so going to really try to force myself to take a sustained shot.

It was my turn to be paranoid ;) I've always said if I were to play MTTs as my main game, there's no way I'd play here. Outside of the mians and maybe 1 or 2 others per night there isn't much there. Do you not play elsewhere? I've been saying to Donald lately he should find a low variance 'grind game' to fund the MTTs, or at least partly fund them to make downswings less severe. You have 1 in place already tht you know you can beat so why not combine the 2? btw, who was the 'interesting pick' ??

Not right now, no. Happy playing on Sky and live as well.
Back in the day, I bonus whored my way round all the skins on Crypto. I loved Crypto.
Even when the welcome bonuses were out of the way the Rakeback was ridiculous.
I used to get 30% Rakeback from an affiliate on InterPoker and then the site itself had a choose your own bonus scheme.
It was something like, let's say, get 1000 points get a 50 quid, 2000 points get 150, 3000 points get 300. So you could choose your bonus based on how much you played. If I went for the 3000 points and got 2999, I received nothing.

It was a different time. Just breaking even and you could easily make 500+ a month without putting in huge volume.
Every site had a sponsored pro. If you had won a £5 rebuy in your local casino you stood a decent chance of getting a deal.

Up until Black Friday, I played in Full Tilt for a year or so under the alias Igor Stimac. Think I made a few bob.
  • edited November 2013

Think I started on 'crypto' Jac.

It was WH, before WH was ipoker.

Loved it over there. I was a right plonker tho, I had like 3/4 different accounts. I had no idea multi accounting was wrong, was very naïve, so I wasn't cheating intentionally.

Tried making an account as a woman once thinking it'd give me an edge (yes, I was that daft).

Got my login name and my alias mixed up though so ended up logging in as Emily and playing as John.

    wp me.

    -------------------------------------------

Decent Friday for me yesterday, I won a French MTT for the first time in ages.

Ironically it was my fave €20 HU hyper knockout.

    http://imageshack.us/f/534/ogai.jpg/

Had to win 6 games to take it down, for €200 plus 9.50 per head, so a decent score.

The final was worth €100, so I asked the guy to chop before playing the first hand.

    He said no.

Next hand I got AA v his TT and it was all over :)

Still can't get deep in the 'proper' mtts.

Sunday tomorrow though so that might change.

    But probably wont.

Small HU session last night on sky ended +$45. Lost the last 2 £21 games against a weaker opponent who just seemed to crush me, so much so I declined his action and called it a night.

    GL all playing this weekend.

    congrats on the bink again.

    Cheers Both! ^^^

Yes Donald, it would be impossible for me to forget that.

Also hard to forget how bad you run all the time.

    Oh wait! ;)

    -------------

    Sunday.

    Meh! Mehhhhh !

Was going vvvvv well on the HU sngs.

Got to about 9pm and I'd ran out of beer.

I could either call it a night, go eat then watch tv or something, or go down to the shed, get a few more and carry on playing.

Went with the latter option as things were going really well.

It cost me around $150 and a more severe headache.

Not the best decision I've ever made.

    http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/3810/wzu8.jpg

For the 2nd time in 2 sessions I raninto a 'troublesome fish'.

This time @ £16.50 games (I'm jinxed @ that level). It turned a cracking session into a modest one.

Still I'd take a 10% ROI over 45 games everytime, just annoying when you feel it could've been better.

Will learn from my mistake, next time I'll make sure I have enough booze to see the session out ;)

gl all playing turbo Tuesday tomorrow, I'm in so you're all scrapping for 2nd! :D

  • edited November 2013

Had a deep run in the 8pm main last night.

Thought it was gonna be my night!

I had 12k on the bubble @ 1/2k But the average was only 16k!!!

Hung on, then managed to spin my stack up, and had 100k @ 1.5/3k, sitting chip leader with 24 left.

Jam K5 on the button into 2 short stacks in the blinds, lose to A3.

Same situation T7s shoved lose to 99.

13xbb left, jam sb with Q9s called by the big blind who has A6o and I lose :(

    Left with 1 xbb lol.

At least HU went well prior to the main, played 15 games, lost the first 3 @ £5 games then won the next 12 in a row before I had to finish to play the mains. 52% roi!

    http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6804/2jp5.jpg

Think 12 is my joint longest winning streak so the pressure is on from game 1 tomorrow to try and beat it!

Had a bet on Jol a few weeks back to be the next manager axed in the premiership.

Got a chunky amount on (for me) @ 7/4.

    Yesterday he was 1/3.

Gutted to see they've brought in sum1 alongside him rather than in place of him.

I run so bad @ betting!

    gl all playing today.

not a criticism... more of a question

I normally like to tighten up my shoving range for a few minutes after I have been caught shoving light, just because people will be alot more willing to call you after that... not sure how long the T7 was after the K5? - but that would have been a prime candidate for me if I was caught recently. do you think you might have been shoving a little light considering your table image, or do you think u just got unlucky to shove into hands that can call?

    gl crushing the HUSNGs!

I agree chickn. I think it may have been a case of positive tilt, after being so short on the bubble then spinning up so quickly to chip leader, hitting everything, I felt invincible.

Im not used to playing without antes. Maybe there was more time to sit back than I thought, despite the shallow average.

I'm happy with the Kx and Q9s, but think the T7s was 1 too many.

    Ahh well.

    ------------------------------------

Anyone have any thoughts on this spot? its a €10 mtt.

    http://www.boomplayer.com/en/poker-hands/Boom/5880403_1348F17139

He reps so thin as in A3 and 33 only.

The problem is he probably never bluffs this spot and never raises for value with worse than AJ, so even tho his V range is so narrow, it's probably always 33 or A3?

  • edited November 2013
Yeah I think we can fold to the raise.  Its either a stone cold bluff or a hand that beats AJ.  He's never raising for value with worse than AJ.  If he thinks youre bluffing then he can bluff catch with all Ax Kx hands etc and is never raising.

So you only beat a bluff.  How often is he bluffing in this spot?  Not often id imagine.  He's opened on the button so I wouldnt narrow his range to solely A3 or 33.  Id include a few more two pair hands like 43 and K3 whilst an unlikely straight got there too.

Yeah I think we can fold to the raise.

Agree Gaza. I've maybe given him too narrow a value range. Which makes it even more of an easy fold than it was before.

Playing really, really bad in mtts recently.

Almost tempted to sack them off altogether and just play HU all day, but it's way too intense and would hurt my head.

Maybe blocks of 10 HU games then half hour messing about on Skype or something. mehhh.

Doesn't help when this happens in the 1 mtt where I have a stack going :(

Agreed. It looks a lot like A3 to me with 33 2nd most likely (cos there isn't many combos). Would have to be opening button pretty wide to open with 43, K3 or 25. So depending on they opening frequency, they could be in their range, but not for most people I'd say. When I'm playing well I'd find a fold, but sometimes talk myself into calling like u did.

Didn't update after my Thursday session because I was really tired and ended early.

Only thing of note is I extended the winning run from 12 games to 14, before losing the 15th. Now my longest streak ever.

Ended a fiver or so down though.

Found a load of 'The Office' quizzes on sporcle.

This is the best, managed 96/100. I knew 97 though, they were just uber picky with the wording.

Any hardcore fans, give it a go!
