Is it me or do most of the players unable to navigate the registraiton system on team Tikay?? Just a genuine question intended to subtly highlight the inadequacies of your team Tony.... :-)

    Good day Miss Dell.

Here's my subtle statement in return. Re-arrange these letters into an appropriate phrase.

    yow aga

This is NOT the Orford Thread. Please.

Nope it's not. On the Orford thread we have victory songs, talk of victory and how we will celebrate.

On the Tikay thread there are questions like 'Am I in?' which if you have to ask is a very bad question on many levels....

But no ill feeling intended, good luck to all of the Tikay Tortoises.

The registration format was cleverly introduced by The Right Honourable Sir Richard Orford as an initiative test. He quite rightly deduced that anyone who didn't know their own name would be inducted into the vastly under-subscribed Tikay camp.

Pfft. wait till you see the tikay Team Talk.

PS - Victory songs? Bit early for that, I'd say.

We are grown-ups, so we plan to GIQ.

Yes - because everyone wanted to be on Team tikay. Team Orford only got three votes, the rest of his Team are my cast-offs.

Tikay - have u ever followed up the chat about PNL?? I loved that programme and would love to hear what attributed its demise.
    Posted by phil12uk
Not yet Phil, my apologioes, the TKO thing has knocked me a bit sideays with the amount of work it created for me via questions & PM's, & I have also had a little issue to deal with elsewhere which was somewhat time-consuming.

I'll do the PNL thing though, don't worry.

Hello, I have been watching poker on TV for a few years now and have decided to take the leap and try my hand at online poker. What is the best way to start playing? I have entered a few freerolls and came 90th out of about 700 over the weekend, others I crash out really early. Paul

    Hi Paul,

How much can you afford to spend, even lose, per week? That will help me formulate a way forward for you.

In the meantime, do you read, & ask questions, on our Poker Statrategy Section? You can ask ANY question on there, no matter how basic, & you won't get flamed, this is Sky Poker, but you will get lots of helpful replies.

Let me know the answer to my first question please, & we'll work from there.

I don't know him personally, so I'm afraid I can't offer an opinion.

He's the guy who appears on HSP, I assume?

As I have never played live......where would you suggest to go and try live out?. It has to be in london .....preferably north

On that criteria, the only Venue I could possibly recommend - & in this case, not strongly - is The Vic, in Edgware Road. I assume Luton is too far?

There are very few Licensed Casinos/Cardrooms in North London, indeed all of London, & none that I would recommend someone inexperienced visiting.

Of the unlicensed rooms in London, or "semi-licensed", the only one I would recommend is "Equal Chance" in St James St, Walthamstow. I woild deffo not recommend any others, indeed I strongly advise against visiting them.

Sorry - not a very helpful answer that, is it?

WE need Sky-Rich to answer that waller, but I THINK everyone is AUTOMATICALLY entered for the whole TKO Series.

    Await Sky-Rich's confirmation, please.

Sorry I could not reply when you asked me - at Table - but it's kinda awkward.

You did just great Dave - but to be fair, so did everybody tonight.

Every single player was a credit to Sky Poker.

I don't care what other Sites do, this is my home for good now, & I'm mighty proud of our players.

    Poker for the people.

I had an absolute ball, all for free, I won five quid - but can't remember enjoying myself so much.

Fair play to the losers - Team Orford - too. They were good, but were outclassed on the night.

In Response to How would you play aces in Sit and Go - DYM:
6 handed early on in S&G small blinds 25/50 last to act pre flop SLOW PLAY or ALL IN?
    Posted by noviceplay
    Neither!

No point going all-in - we want a bit of action, or we only win the Blinds. I am assuming everyone else has Passed, except the Blinds.

The standard line here is.....(this involves LEAST risk).

You have the Buttton, so you MIGHT get 2 Callers if you Pot Bet - 175 - but that's the risk. We must not Limp here, unless we know exactly what we are doing, & are prepared to let go easily if it goes wrong.

The lairy line is to Limp - greater risk, but it might pay off.

But whatever way you choose - be careful, & don't be afraid to pass them if the Flop or Turn action gets very heavy. beware particularly of co-ordinated boards - all one Suit (which you don't have), or....

    2 or 3 Paint cards

    Running cards (6-7-8 etc).

These are all possible/likely "2 pair" hands, or someone hits a big draw.

Hidden sets are a danger too, the only clue is the betting pattern.

In summary, a winning player can Pass Aces to strong betting here, & still win the SNG, but most players are unable to ever let go of Aces. BIG mistake.

Aces are not much use early doors, but are the bees knees late on.

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : The Caller - in this case the only guy left in the Hand - HAS to show to claim the pot here, IMO. It can be argued both weys, but I don't see the problem in showing. I'm assuming they DID first see a Flop, Turn & River? And it was a Cash-game? If a Tourney, & the money went in Pre, or on the Flop or Turn, the Dealer should not deal the Flop/Turn/River until BOTH Hands are OTB. Does that answer the Question?

Yes it did thanks, and i did forget to say it was showdown. :)
