hi, im new to sky. i have been all in on 10 occasions. 3 times in cash and 7 times in tourneys. each time the stack size on my behalf and my opponents has been healthy. in other words it has not been desperate play. my grumble is that, out of those 10 times i have been ahead (well ahead) all the way up to the turn, and then guess what? yep youve got it, out drawn! 8 TIMES out of 10! without going into the hands too much this seems very high and unusual.
    Posted by mitchdan29
That only tells me one thing and that is its dangerous to go all in often as you will be outdrawn more often than not

Raggy Aces Tikay....What's your view on playing them?

Usually I tend to avoid them like the plague (A2 to A8). I will play A9 & upwards very aggressively dependant on position, how deep I am in the tourney and my opponents general play - mixing it up a bit I suppose.

I am past been surprised by some players willingness to go all in these rag aces. The question is......

Is there a case (apart maybe being very short stacked) for doing this?

Would (have) you ever play(ed) these cards and when?

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : Well thank you. But if you were referring to "murmuration", I was not using it in it's conventional sense, there is a far more beautiful meaning to it! A tad tricky to weave that into convo down the pub...... The photo below, taken near Brighton Pier, refers. (Click to enlarge photo).

    Hi Cat,

I think you KNOW my views on this!

It depends how you play them. Players can Raise with Any Two, & I would never protest, that's fine, including Rag Aces. It's calling with them that has me wringing my hands in despair. Well, to be honest, just "calling" is the thing that is so bad, be it Rag Aces or almost any hand. Technically, it's achingly bad to call a Raise, or even limp, with rag aces.

James Hartigan & I did the Show last night, & it was pretty sad to see so much limping going on when the Blinds were huge, & players had 4, 5, 6 or 7 x BB. The TV Channel has several remits, but they include "entertaining" & "educational". I think, to varying degrees, we satisfy the first, but we've clearly failed in the latter, & it pains me.

It's as a direct result of this that I'm engaging with players - inexperienced, newbie players ONLY - to have a series of private "Boot-Camps" around the country. (See "Any Plans for a Boot-Camp" in the Sky Poker Announcements Board). I am not getting paid to do these, & I'll stand my own expenses, so there will be no charge for them, but I really want to help newbie players conquer the very basics. Now & then I do a little private mentoring of newbies, & it's incredibly satisfying to see how much their game improves with a few tweaks, & a grasp of the fundamental basics.

Easy. Cup-A-Soup Lite. Supplemented by Oxo Cubes in steaming hot water, & lots of salad. FML........

It works though - I've lost getting on for 3 stone now, in less than 8 weeks. Which I'm pretty pleased about, to be honest!

Weirdly, I had a monstrous beer-belly. And I've been teetotal since I was 21. Go figure.

    HI TK

have being trying to get in to the SPUKT leg 4 but every time i try they is not unuff plays to make 1 seat of late think sky sholud let me in for free so i can defend my title from the SPUKT scotlish lag last year !

Err, no, they won't let you in free!

Right now, the main promotion is of the Viva Las Vegas Super Sats, remember, there are still 6 weeks before SPT Glasgow. When it gets nearer the time, they will make a bit of noise, & there are always lots of players who leave it to the last minute to qualify, so the Super Sats will soon start filling again.

So you are the gentleman who won at the Gala Maybury last year, yes? Well done you. I could have sworn your alias was "YoungUn" or similar, have I had brain-fade?

    Bountyhunter format,
Why is it that you do not always win the bounty when you win the hand?

If you go all-in at the turn, with the winning hand, vs small stack all-in & any others,
then the big stack shoves on the river to force any others off a side pot,
big stack loses hand but takes the bounty as well as the side pot.

Sorry, but tikay cannot see individual players hands, I would suggest pasting it into the Holdem poker startegy where I am sure someone will answer you.
