i thought sky like to recieve gd feedback from there loyal players and pride themselves on listening to players and there concerns.this seems to be falling on deaf ears and the attitude if you dont like ect ect.there is a mass ove players who dont want these rebuys so come on sky give us what we want a simple no nonsence freezeout.regards del

I think that's a little harsh, & unfair, Wayne. "Listening" does not always equate to "agreeing", & no business can be all things to all men.

In my reply, I did not say "yes" or "no", I spent a lot of time trying to explain the why's & wherefores.

Either way, I hope to see you in Nottingham next month.

In Response to Re: Ask Tikay? : I'm really disappointed that you think that Alan, I thought you knew me better. I gave factual replies, & took a lot of time so to do. I also explained that it is not within my remit to answer such questions, & I therefore assumed you'd take my replies at face value, & as the honest replies they were.

I did actually thank you 1st for your in depth reply Tikay. I always speak my mind and apologise if it seemed to come across the wrong way.

    Thank you Alan.

I'm not sure how this could be construed as "towing* the company line"....

    "...Hand for Hand.

As poker players on the whole seem to lack a sense of fair play & seek to eke out any advantage they can, fair or not, I agree personally that H4H ought to be a component of Sky Poker. I have made my view known, & I'm sure other players have & will. Not much I can say beyond that. For the avoidance of doubt, I do agree that it would be preferable to have it....."

    * "Towing" or "toeing"? (as in ..the company line)

Before MerePedant arrives on the scene, I've always believed it should be "toeing" rather than "towing".

"toeing" rather as one "toes the oche", as opposed to towing a rope or a car.

5.60 + 1 buy in + 1 add on = +£15 & taking the mick imo. if we have five players who want to play a freezeout for the same combined entry but first place gets through then why should this not be allowed also? We gave chip and a chair a whirl didnt we? Very dischuffed and I love Sky Poker...hence why I want to qualify to DTD!!! Can't afford rebuys as poor vfm...

Any chance of a stewards enquirey Teek?

Of course, though I cannot predict the outcome.

    I'll send the thread upstairs.

I have stated what they said previously, but I'll ask again.

    And so.....

Thinking about the re-buys on the sattelites, does this mean that for every 5 re-buys another seat is added to the number available?

If not where does the money go?

I cant make DTD on 11th of September as its my skin 'n blisters birthday but I do want to try to get to some SPT games next year if they run.

I don't like the idea of re-buys so would not play the sats.

Anyway the cost is a bit above my BR at the moment.

Any chance of a satellite into the sattelite if you know whatI mean.
Maybe a 10 handed £1.20 sit 'n go with top 2 getting a seat int he £5.25 satellite? This may help to fill them too.

hello tikay as best you can could you tell us if sundays schedule was indicative of the way the show will be from now on as i'm sure people will want to know before they enter and tune in at 8pm sundays whether they will be able to watch the premier tournament of the week... i know you showed some tonight but you know what i mean.

    Thanks,

    Hi Bob,

Thank you for your very well-phrased question. I know you & many others are quite angry, so I appreciate your diplomacy.

And yes, I do know what you mean, if I may paraphrase you.

    The answer?

Could you please leave it with me for about 48 hours, please, & in the meantime, don't make any assumptions? As soon as I know the answer, the clear answer, I will reply fully.

Last night, during a break in the Show, I went on Forum & said (words to the effect),,

"Keep the constructive feedback coming. They ARE listening. TY TY TY".

    That remains the case.

And DO keep the feedback coming. Bile & vitriol won't help, but almost all of it was solid & constructive stuff. More of the same, please.

Neither 865, or Sky Poker, will stand still, we have to innovate & move forward. But we also have to strike the balance of old & new "just so" with you, our Clients. And we will.

    Thanks.

Thank you, though I suspect you are almost in a minority of one!

I was deeply immersed in thoroughbred horse racing for 20 or 30 years, I am a student of racehorse breeding, I own 100's of books on the subject, & I enjoyed watching the golden era of British Horse Racing, from the mid 60's for 25 years or so. Sadly, that's something of a niche subject!

Still, a little praise for something in last night's Show is rather welcome right now.....;)

    Onward & upwards, next case.

thanks tikay i appreciate you getting back to me so soon. i am sure i along with nearly all the players on here want what is best for sky as that will make things better with more choice for us as consumers. but just to reittarate primo is your flagship, the one that to me, everything fits around. you don't watch the fa cup and then not show the final, or show county cricket and then not show the ashes. you have this unique hook with the website AND tv channel and shows such as the live thursday/sunday shows make the most of it, whereas i think it's felt a schedule like last nights dilutes it. good show tho', just the wrong day as monday, tuesdays or fridays maybe would be better.

    regards,

    Thank you very much Bob.

Keep this kind of feedback coming, please.

It's rather a shame that is is on so many different threads, as it dilutes the message, so one thread would be better, but never mind.

    Just 2 points for now.

    1) Sky Poker work as a Team. We stand & fall together, & all accept the credit when we get it right, & all accept the blame when we get it wrong. (Not that I'm saying we did either.....)

    2) Communication is KEY. It's good to talk, it's good to listen.

Many (many many......) years ago, I became a Member of the AMA - the American Management Association, which was (is?) a very prestigious Management Training body, through which all the world's great business leaders graduated. I was working in England, & "won" the Course via some work I was doing for my business, & it involved spending a week in San Francisco. Nice, I run good! The cost of the Course was over £3,000, & that was back in the 80's - serious money then.

I somehow did rather well, & was invited back for two further years by the AMA as their Guest, & somehow I managed to bink their Gold Award for Graduate of the Year or somesuch.

The essence of that award was doing a single thing - good communication. And that in turn came down to this simple maxim. If you have to deliver a message, this is what you do.

    1) Tell them what you are going to tell them.

    2) Tell them.

    3) Tell them what you've just told them.

    4) Now LISTEN.

We did not do that very well this week, & I apologise, on behalf of all of us.

By the bye. We actually did some things rather well this week, too. Saturday's Show, which was 100% Cash, was, by most Client feedback, one of the best we have ever done.

However, all of us are judged by our latest actions, not what we did last week, or last year.

Above all, we must deliver, or at least try to deliver, Excellence, in all things.

    Hi Dylan,

"Mucked" cards are "dead hands" which have been discarded, or "mucked".

If you pass your hand, especially in Live Poker, it is known as "mucking". As such, the cards "go in the muck". "The muck" is the pile of discards etc.

"I muck" is really the same as "I pass".

I agree, Booty, ideally it should all be in one Thread, now we have 4 or 5. But as we started it off wrong, in two threads, we are bang to rights there, too!

I might pen a Blog tomorrow, & then it's all wrapped up in one.

    Hi Steve,

Yes, I'll be playing every TOT this week, starting tonight.

I had to swerve them whilst in Vegas, & the last few weeks have been a bit hectic elsewhere, to be honest.

I will reply to your PM soonest, too.

Thanks tikay, only reason I asked was I noticed that you hadn't registered and  I know how busy you have been on here today.  Your responses to all our questions are really appreciated.

As I said, no rush with the PM just when you have some time.....like 3 or 4 years from now lol.

    Hi Tony,
I have to disagree with you, both Saturdays and Sundays shows were excellent shows, it's just that one was a surprise and one was a shock. IT IS A CONSTANT SHOCK, TO ME, HOW YOU CAN CONCENTRATE ON THE JOB IN HAND WORKING WITH SARAH AND LISA.

If i may make a suggestion on Dealers Choice. Re-schedule it on a Monday, call it Club XL and Bobs your auntie.
