a thread dedicated to moaning about sky. This isnt directed towards MRBURNS but everyone conssantly moaning about skypoker yet you have all remained and/or remain to play here. THAT MAKES SENSE. If you would look at the bigger picture and see that some people are trying to be constructive to improve the site, maybe you would realise that even conglomerates like SKY need negative feedback.

Surely you understand that a lot of people (myself included) really enjoy moaning and ranting. Some nights its the only reason I play on here.

im pretty sure majority of posts not only on this thread, but entire forum are unconstructive rants about how bad sky is. People can put their points across in a much more thought out way. you quite clearly have tunnel vision though, purely based on your last comment. pretty sure i just opened another thread and instantly thought to myself 'is this opening poster challenged'

Losing a £55 buy in for a main event through technical problems may be just a blip to your bankroll, but to most of us it's a big issue. I'm surprised at your comments. Most of the posts on the thread are made by players who respect and admire your play, who follow your progress in major tournaments and want nothing less than you being successful in taking Sky to a greater audience! To diss the recreational players who make up the majority of the site IMO is very selfish and short sighted. Lose the minnows, then where do you make your money?

Hursty I think the point is we like playing here and although it seems like moaning, we are trying to put the obvious problems right so we can all carry on with the great camaraderie that we have here on Sky until quite recently.
My opinion is that SKY customer service that we contact are not Sky Poker focussed and are general SKY bet customer service operators that have generic answers to queries and not aware of current issues or Poker problems and cannot understand our poker 'speak' to resolve the issues.
I think that most of us want to stay here and will do so if Sky will address the issues and more importantly agree that there ARE issues and update us all with their plans on improving the Sky poker experience

" Hi everyone - we are trying hard to keep this thread open and sensible but any comments which are insulting to Sky Poker or its staff will be deleted. We will keep it open but if it gets out of hand, we will close it. We really do not want to close this thread but equally, we do not want it to get silly. A very good point! - Bit short sighted Hursty, dont you think?
£55 is £55 no matter whether it cripples your bankroll or not, nobody would want tlose that. If that comes by way of a series of disconnections then the site simply has to act on it. Whilst SKY have ALWAYS reimbursed me with any issues due to tournaments freezing its pretty difficult to keep tabs on whats lost due to constant disconnections. Having said that id rather the tournaments didnt freeze, it just looks so unprofessional hence why confidence in the site gets lost, its grief i could do without having to ring the sky help team and spend ages trying to explain whats happened, getting put throught to the poker team who may have gone home, ring tomorrow etc........

Just a quick question... Challenged how?
I would hate to think that you are making an assumption on a persons Mental or Physical "Challenges" based on their words. If you are, I can not begin to tell you how rude, bigoted and offensive that would be. The irony being that this type of behaviour is the worst kind of "Tunnel Vision".

firstly your last post, we wont lose the minnows, because none of you will leave. hence my point. secondly there will always be new influxes of players to the site. and i already know that new software is under development, ive seen it. And it doesnt run on the flash software of the current software. Which is what makes players (incl myself ) have most of our current problems. Of course id be angered at losing £55 due to being d/c, but i fail to see anyone whos had this problem genuinly and not been refunded. most of these problems, what ive encountered are when they have these large freeroll events. what happened last monday was something ive rarely ever seen since playing on sky near the start. As of what people think of me, doesnt bother me. those who have met me in person will only have good things to say about me ( i think ) but to sit here reading some of the comments posted, half the people need a slap (in a humerous 'why are you posting this' kinda way)

Im sure that the customer care chat are people who cover all areas of the sky online gaming brand. therefore if someone your talking to seems ignorant or w/e to your query then why do people instantly come on to this forum running there mouths about how bad sky are. i think they need customer care that has dedicated teams for each sector, who know all about poker, or bigno etc. thats all thats needed for 'constructive critism'. people dont need to come and post stuff like 'Sort it out Sky!!!!!! blah blah worst site on the planet blah blah'

im 100% confident ive never said my opnion is better or worth more than anyone elses, im making a point of people making ludacris statments and being of no help to sky at all. You skip along and claim i made a dumb post. therefore your narrow minded 'tunnel vision', you cannot sit there and say to me, everything i just said is dumb, when i quite clearly have a point. as do you, which i do agree with the point! just not the way people put it across.
I hate to bundle in on this thread as well, but I think MrBurns' OP has been completely derailed by all this.
I'm not undermining all the troubles that people have had, but Sky already know all this and if they didn't MrBurns has pretty much covered them all in his OP, so I think it's probably best to just wait and see what happens from here.
Please can we keep the comments about how we can move forward. This may be a very good chance to move forward between the players and sky the problem is in my view people are getting so frustrated with this terrible communication problem sky have with us.
I don't. Want to leave or why would I have bothered posting the post I did but unless we can move forward now I will of course move the final roll out so I have already voted with my money but I want this site to work as I stated at the start.
So what do we want no moans please just tell it as it Is in a constructive respectful way and sky stop being over sensitive

Your arrogance is unbelievable.................
You still have not explained how you think I am challenged either, but I will save you the long winded response. Your failed attempt at humour related to a completely different thread that was part of a year long CHALLENGE that us minnows took time out of our sad lives to do. If you would take the time out to read the said challenge, you would also notice that around 100 minnows took part in a game tonight to celebrate the challenge being achieved.
Yes, you have a point, but that doesn't mean others don't. And fyi I don't skip along, I stand by my post that your initial contribution was ill thought out and stupid.

Ok the thread is getting a touch personal. So to get back on track, I agree MRBURNS most of us want to stay and get back on track.
Hursty says that he has seen new software so my suggestions:
1. SKY to 'come out' and say 'Yes there are issues, please bear with us as we are developing new software'
2. SKY customer care to not come out with the generic answer 'there are no problems here it must be with your computer or ISP'
3. SKY customer care to have a dedicated Poker department that understand the game and issues

WHAT ARE YOU ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT!?
1) never called you challenged, that was a lighthearted comment about the guy who made the thread 'Sort it our sky!!!!!' so wind your neck in.
2) I have zero clue what year long challenge your talking about, my comment about people with sad lives is based soley about this thread. so again, wind your neck in.
3) Quite funny, im certain in my last post to you and to another. I actually said 'you all have points'. gees you have a long neck.
4) My comments are perfectly justifiyable, if people decide to comment about skys problems in an arrogant way then they can expect the same from me, i know alot of people agree with me, and have told me they do. but obv they dont wanna get into agruments so most likely wont post to say so.
you have nothing constructive to say, hence your closing statement. This means you obviously dont have anything else to say so BUUUUUH-BYYYYYYYYE

hardly lol. rarely ever post here anymore. most people arent worth the time if im honest. uhoh, gonna get called bad things now. poor me.
fwiw keep up the good work on the diary. interesting reads. gl
Mrburns started this thread not as a rant thread but in the hope that the communication issues that the player outlined might in some way be resolved.
We are all aware that the site has technical problems with regard to connections however this is never going to be acknowledged by Sky as there will be people who will then try & abuse this by blaming the site for problems at their own end.
With regards to site upgrades & introducing new features this might not go without gliches, but in fairness to Sky Poker the issue of "Ghost players" when late registration was introduced was handled in my opinion excellently with acknowledgement that there may be an issue & as a result the feedback from players was constructive and hopefully helped in identifying the problem.
Sky are perfectly entitled to change the product that they offer to clients ie. the removal of 30p Dym's. However players are surely entitled to be told in advance that things like League points will be discontinued at the end of the month as this may have some bearing on certain players monthly targets. True it may well be replaced with something bigger & better at a future date, but sometimes a little bit of advance communication goes a long way.
I personally have only been a player on Sky poker for a short time, but I have to be truthful and say that if it hadnt been for the wonderful player base, the forum & its team spirit along with Channel 861 I wouldnt have chosen Sky as the place I would wish to be playing poker on.
I am sure that from their side of the fence Sky poker are doing everything they can to address the software, site issues that exist, however in the first instance it is the communication issues that need to be addressed as a priority. An individuals opinion will carry no weight , but if this thread is kept constructive it may well be benficial to the future development of a poker site that has enormous potential.
Please can we keep the comments about how we can move forward. Of course you have the right to comment/respond on this or any other forum. But when you start accusing other people of having `sick lives` for expressing their own personal opinions, that is where your credibility & argument falls down.
