my BR was ok but I went over the top with MTT in augest and September my sharkscope reveals it all £300 looked enough to play MTT but I was going into way to many. what I think has happened with my cash is now the nl4 has become more varied i'm having to mix my game up more. at the start of the year I would just have 6 tables and be very tight aggressive and the tables had the CS. what has started to happen now is i'm getting lots of big pot losses and small pot wins. notes are now more important so i am starting to keep track of which villians i can isolate and which are total calling stations also those who are LAG.
paul I think I now know what may be causing the bad periods on the nl4.
it's watching the sky poker TV channel at the same time or match of the day on Saturday so what i'm doing is looking away from the tables when really I need to watch very close especially if I am going to be isolating limpers. tonight as expected started badly as I was watching MOTD and got my money quite low, by the time MOTD finished I was left with single figures and moments later it had all bee in tables so I still had 4 tables with 100 BB or better including 1 table with 300BB. that was the point where things changed and so I have still managed to get a profit but I am lucky and should of stayed away tonight.
the tables theselves finished like this, profits£8.59 £1.36 £0.22and £2.70 the losses were -£5.95 and -£3.66 both of which came during MOTD.
so my overall total finished as profit of £3.26 points total was 76 points
Craig just caught up with this, my advice would be lower the tables, avoid distractions i.e. tv maybe put some headphones in listen to some music or something so your main focus is the tables. Get back to basics, don't overthink at 4nl! you were crushing before, just get grinding- solid abc poker, get some confidence back and you will be back with a decent bankroll in no time.
I have started to drop my number of table from being 6 to now having just 4 open. part of the reason that I have lots of tables in one session is I do switch a few times because what sometimes happens is I may suffer like I did last night. I had 2 very good tables 1 quite table and 1 poor table at first things were going excellent and on one of them I reached a chip stack of £10 but then came 2 big cooldowns one was 108 OTB and a flop of 10103 and I lost to a FH the other was 99 on what was a low board and got hit by another set too so I lost it all, so normally what I tend to do is when it reaches a certain point I will then just switch table because small pots are the main wins big pots will cost me most times.
overall sunday was a long evening and I think I stayed on tables too long I started well but then things went bad and I was sensing a loss but then one of my bad starting tables finally was going well and it managed to reach a total of £20 but it did get a total rebuy of £10.33.
overall it finished like this profits £9.77 and £1.50
losses -£2.78 -£4.28 and -£4.01 plus a 50p free roll add on.
thought about having an hour session as i'm going to be at the bonfire this evening. I played on 4 tables and they were all quiet their was only 1 hand that saw much action and it was played odd I had 98 and hit top pair 88 OTF the turn give a third spade and I got my 3rd 8 but the villain just went for the donk I had no reads on him so decided to call because I would not want to be too much of a nit and he showed Kd9s so I was ahead and managed to avoid the 4th spade on the river.
the tables finished as profits £0.7 £4.65 and £0.77 the only loss I saw was -£1.14
well things again got off to a bad start and had more action than normal. after 30 minutes i decided to just have 6 tables rather than 4 and went much tighter and charged high amounts for them if they wanted to call, so soon things returned in my favour. so overall the first session had 8 tables i did switch seats on 2 so i could be next to the maniacs, the final out come was profit of £3.02 (£17.57-£14.55) with the table winning £7.97 £5.57 £3.64 and £0.39. The losses were £6.83 £5.05 £1.47 and £1.20.
after having a break i went into 2 MTTs and 4 SnG (i was playing freerolls in that period but it was just a side game.)
The SnG saw a loss overall of -£0.95 (1.15 0.60 0.40 0.40). I might have made a loss in SnG but the MTT was much better with a winnings from them of £24.16. £25.68 was from a timed MTT (£5.50) and in the mini i won £13.08 all from heads. i did try one £3.60 AI sat but failed to progress into the main event so lost £3.60 on that.
Finally after going out of the mini i had one last session and it saw profit of £1.87 again it was from 6 tables. The outcomes had 2 tables with a loss of -£4 and 82p. the 4 winning tables were £2.81 £3.02 25p and 61p.
so after 1 awful day on Tuesday and taking a break Wednesday i,ve had a much better time today with a winnings of £28.10 overall
my points are now 619 so far this month and Br is £85.81
Friday was a bad day for timed MTT but a good day for SnG
the timed MTTs finished with a total profit of £6.17 but it had 4 £3.30 30 mins with nothing and 2 £5.50 15 mins that failed I the profit was thanks to 1 £5.50 15 min timed which got me a profit of £30.37
i did go a step too far with sats and they saw a loss of -£38
the overall profit on SnG was £16.15 the best of that was from 2 HU hi lo (£5+0.25) and 1 DYM hi lo (£5+0.50) the rest came from micro SnG holem DYm and six max
cash tables didn't see much i but my time i spent on them saw £3.59 winnings and -£9.49 losses so finish with a loss of -£5.50 the best came at the end of the day when i finished 4th in the £750 BH making a winnings of £78.40 westbroo076180001£200.85 + £72.55 Head Prizes12 gandalf11102£115.88 + £36.65 Head Prizes9 OHMYGOD03£70.30 + £15.68 Head Prizes5 craigcu1204£56.39 + £27.76 Head Prizes6
overall my day had a winnings of £47.02 points total is currently 734
the big aim was to get myself back to how i was back in june. what happened between july and October was i went over the top with MTT and bigger NL cash. so i am going to try getting my BR back to £300+ and control myself BR better. yesterday i went a step too far with MTT but i didn't know that timed could be so costly as for the sats i think i did do too many but i was using the SnG winnings quite often.
well i didn't have much success in the main event. i couldn't have asked for a better start with 2 of my first 4 hands being AA and QQ. but i really can only blame myself when i should have folded this jam. i already allowed him a chance to bluff with my QQ but he just checked, it was at the very eary stages still and bluff will probably be rare.
Saturday was another good day for tourneys. I had an overall winnings of £5.39 from MTT and £6.25 from 2 DYMs
the MTTs were £1.60 semi sat £7.20 LR semi £3.60 sat £3.30 timed and I registered for the mini and £750 BH also I had a 50p rebuy
the timed was not so lucky and as the hand above shows I can only blame myself for ruining the chance of decent money in the main. but with the mini and £750 BH I went past the bubble but even without getting past the bubble the mini would have seen good winnings from heads craigcu12065£5.39 + £14.79 Head Prizes6
I didn't get as many heads in the £750 as I had on Friday's but here was my finished position

sunday will be a day not to remember. first came lots of losses from SnG then my dropping to £84 then comes the horror hand of the primo. the mini primo did go quite well but just after the bubble burst things halted and i went from a decent position to going out 44th.
then came an awful time in cash ad so my BR has now dropped all the way down to £27.22
surely this must be the end of running into quads now
i will just be brief with today as i need to be up early on Wednesday.
i went back to playing 6 tables rather than just 4 because the thing with 6 tables is it is rare to not be active without getting too loose because while most will fold their is will still be the odd calling station or chase even if it is runner runner. my overall profit today was £5.45 point total now 1356 BR £31.67
I guess a day of poker would not be the same without that very common hand called quads. yet again I saw that come up not once but twice only this time I was thankfully not involved post flop. maybe I should ask TK how often quads occur in Omaha.
as for my poker well I had just the one session with 6 tables up and they were either very good or very bad.
the outcome overall was the smallest of losses -1p but the tables give massive wins or losses those being -£7.85, -£4, -£1.60 and -58p the winning tables were £10.11 and £4.88.
so my BR is just 1p shorter at £33.66 points total now is 1411
I guess the attack of the quads has finished getting at me and moved on to find it's next victim, again I did see winning hand which was quads but like the last 2, I was not the victim.
I had 6 tables up and overall i got a profit of £4.29. 3 tables did very well and had profits of £3.94 £5.20 and £3. i did have 1 very bad table loss of £4, I did loose £3.52 on a table too but it was a very mixed table and unlike the £4 loss didn't involve bad decision as much apart from not leaving. their was one other loss too of -£0.33
this week i will be having a break from sky poker i just don't have the confidence and so have lost my BR totally. freerolls i will still be joining but apart from them nothing else.
i will give 888poker a try because they will not know much about me also i will get back to being fully focused on cash tables again and well i will be able to use the holdem manager to review my play better. so the diary will be quiet for the next week. this was the hand which sounded the alarm.
the 750BH at 10:40 seems to an MTT i do very well in i tried the mini on Thursday but was not able to get that big a stack in the mini on Saturday i didn't seem to get any hands at all so my stack was just draining away then when i tried a £2.30BH my stack was lost quickly. so i decided to give 1 last MTT a try the £750BH at 10:40 BI 5.50 and again got past the bubble

i had some cash table too which won £2.30 £3.48 £1.60 -£2.04
overall my winnings was £7.65.
while most nights i will be playing cash i think Friday and Saturday will be 2 nights i will use playing that MTT
having qualified for the super roller i was knocked out in 60th position the table i had to start with was quite a difficult one with a few having large stacks. what could be said is in these tournaments is positional awareness, the hand range and aggression have much more importance than in the lower stakes.
as soon as the flop was done i asked myself why call preflop knowing that if i miss the flush draw he is going to do the cbet and i will fold, a 2.30 MTT might call my raise preflop and not do much cbetting post flop but with this the aggression 3bets and position are done for a reason which i will know next time

i did still manage some decent bits of play this viillian said that he was holding AA which i don't believe he had really myself but i think i give him a bit of tilt after the fold he did on the river. the raise on the flop was to bluff my hand into being a set or a middle pair that is defending from the broad way cards the 9 on the turn i just saw as a brick because i was still behind to the big pairs and still ahead of the broadway cards so when he just calls i see myself getting the best of cards on the river to do a bluff, if he had A7 well UL to me but most times i'm thinking he has either an over pair or the broadway card so i took my chance with the bluff and got the fold i wanted. the reason for my play was i had seen him in a sat earlier where he was sounding a bit tilted or stressed so could see him making mistakes.
the £20 deposit i have just made i want it to be my last one for sure.
i did get into the super roller on sunday and as the post above states i didn't make it.
i do cause myself too much pressure because i know that i have a low BR so will be pressured into getting past the bubble.
the lower BI might not be aggressive but they are very loose so i can struggle to play some of my AK Aq or 99-QQ hands especially when an A comes.
with the higher limit the hand range might be tighter but the thing with theseguyes is they do have much more aggression and will bluff sometimes so if i do miss i get left with the decision do i don't i.
playing cash is the bestthing for me and so my aim is to reach £300-£500 by Christmas.
sunday and Monday might have been quiet but today was anything but quiet one nl4 cash table I was able to turn what looked a loss of £12 into a profit £13.87 from 2 hands which had 2 all ins this one was set up perfect I had position and knowing that I had quite a wide range and lost some big pots I expected villain x (loose aggro) to try stealing it putting me on the flush draw which was then completed with no 4th spade.

what I think has happened with my cash is now the nl4 has become more varied i'm having to mix my game up more.
at the start of the year I would just have 6 tables and be very tight aggressive and the tables had the CS.
what has started to happen now is i'm getting lots of big pot losses and small pot wins.
notes are now more important so i am starting to keep track of which villians i can isolate and which are total calling stations also those who are LAG.
it's watching the sky poker TV channel at the same time or match of the day on Saturday so what i'm doing is looking away from the tables when really I need to watch very close especially if I am going to be isolating limpers.
tonight as expected started badly as I was watching MOTD and got my money quite low, by the time MOTD finished I was left with single figures and moments later it had all bee in tables so I still had 4 tables with 100 BB or better including 1 table with 300BB. that was the point where things changed and so I have still managed to get a profit but I am lucky and should of stayed away tonight.
the tables theselves finished like this,
profits £8.59 £1.36 £0.22 and £2.70
the losses were -£5.95 and -£3.66 both of which came during MOTD.
so my overall total finished as profit of £3.26 points total was 76 points
BR is £32.41
part of the reason that I have lots of tables in one session is I do switch a few times because what sometimes happens is I may suffer like I did last night.
I had 2 very good tables 1 quite table and 1 poor table at first things were going excellent and on one of them I reached a chip stack of £10 but then came 2 big cooldowns one was 108 OTB and a flop of 10103 and I lost to a FH the other was 99 on what was a low board and got hit by another set too so I lost it all, so normally what I tend to do is when it reaches a certain point I will then just switch table because small pots are the main wins big pots will cost me most times.
overall sunday was a long evening and I think I stayed on tables too long I started well but then things went bad and I was sensing a loss but then one of my bad starting tables finally was going well and it managed to reach a total of £20 but it did get a total rebuy of £10.33.
overall it finished like this
profits £9.77 and £1.50
losses -£2.78 -£4.28 and -£4.01 plus a 50p free roll add on.
finished at -30p
points total was 171
thought about having an hour session as i'm going to be at the bonfire this evening.
I played on 4 tables and they were all quiet their was only 1 hand that saw much action and it was played odd I had 98 and hit top pair 88 OTF the turn give a third spade and I got my 3rd 8 but the villain just went for the donk I had no reads on him so decided to call because I would not want to be too much of a nit and he showed Kd9s so I was ahead and managed to avoid the 4th spade on the river.
the tables finished as profits £0.7 £4.65 and £0.77
the only loss I saw was -£1.14
well things again got off to a bad start and had more action than normal. after 30 minutes i decided to just have 6 tables rather than 4 and went much tighter and charged high amounts for them if they wanted to call, so soon things returned in my favour. so overall the first session had 8 tables i did switch seats on 2 so i could be next to the maniacs, the final out come was profit of £3.02 (£17.57 -£14.55) with the table winning £7.97 £5.57 £3.64 and £0.39.
The outcomes had 2 tables with a loss of -£4 and 82p. the 4 winning tables were £2.81 £3.02 25p and 61p.
so after 1 awful day on Tuesday and taking a break Wednesday i,ve had a much better time today with a winnings of £28.10 overall
my points are now 619 so far this month and Br is £85.81
Friday was a bad day for timed MTT but a good day for SnG
the timed MTTs finished with a total profit of £6.17 but it had 4 £3.30 30 mins with nothing and 2 £5.50 15 mins that failed I the profit was thanks to 1 £5.50 15 min timed which got me a profit of £30.37
i did go a step too far with sats and they saw a loss of -£38
the overall profit on SnG was £16.15 the best of that was from 2 HU hi lo (£5+0.25) and 1 DYM hi lo (£5+0.50) the rest came from micro SnG holem DYm and six max
cash tables didn't see much i but my time i spent on them saw £3.59 winnings and -£9.49 losses so finish with a loss of -£5.50
the best came at the end of the day when i finished 4th in the £750 BH making a winnings of £78.40
westbroo076180001£200.85 + £72.55 Head Prizes12 gandalf11102£115.88 + £36.65 Head Prizes9 OHMYGOD03£70.30 + £15.68 Head Prizes5 craigcu1204£56.39 + £27.76 Head Prizes6
overall my day had a winnings of £47.02
points total is currently 734
I decided to buy into a LR semi and have managed to enter the main event plus I could be heading into the 2KBH at 9 through a FR.
What's the 1 big aim?
so i am going to try getting my BR back to £300+ and control myself BR better.
yesterday i went a step too far with MTT but i didn't know that timed could be so costly as for the sats i think i did do too many but i was using the SnG winnings quite often.
i couldn't have asked for a better start with 2 of my first 4 hands being AA and QQ.
but i really can only blame myself when i should have folded this jam. i already allowed him a chance to bluff with my QQ but he just checked, it was at the very eary stages still and bluff will probably be rare.
Saturday was another good day for tourneys.
I didn't get as many heads in the £750 as I had on Friday's but here was my finished positionI had an overall winnings of £5.39 from MTT and £6.25 from 2 DYMs
the MTTs were £1.60 semi sat £7.20 LR semi £3.60 sat £3.30 timed and I registered for the mini and £750 BH also I had a 50p rebuy
the timed was not so lucky and as the hand above shows I can only blame myself for ruining the chance of decent money in the main.
but with the mini and £750 BH I went past the bubble but even without getting past the bubble the mini would have seen good winnings from heads craigcu12065£5.39 + £14.79 Head Prizes6
one table had a mega shock with this

sunday will be a day not to remember.
first came lots of losses from SnG then my dropping to £84 then comes the horror hand of the primo. the mini primo did go quite well but just after the bubble burst things halted and i went from a decent position to going out 44th.
then came an awful time in cash ad so my BR has now dropped all the way down to £27.22
surely this must be the end of running into quads now
beat by 3 in one day
i will just be brief with today as i need to be up early on Wednesday.
i went back to playing 6 tables rather than just 4 because the thing with 6 tables is it is rare to not be active without getting too loose because while most will fold their is will still be the odd calling station or chase even if it is runner runner.
my overall profit today was £5.45
point total now 1356
BR £31.67
There simply isnt one. There may be value in a small raise, but to shove £3.50 into a 60p pot isnt ideal when villain can never call you with worse.
I guess a day of poker would not be the same without that very common hand called quads.
yet again I saw that come up not once but twice only this time I was thankfully not involved post flop.
maybe I should ask TK how often quads occur in Omaha.
as for my poker well I had just the one session with 6 tables up and they were either very good or very bad.
the outcome overall was the smallest of losses -1p but the tables give massive wins or losses those being -£7.85, -£4, -£1.60 and -58p the winning tables were £10.11 and £4.88.
so my BR is just 1p shorter at £33.66
points total now is 1411
I had 6 tables up and overall i got a profit of £4.29. 3 tables did very well and had profits of £3.94 £5.20 and £3. i did have 1 very bad table loss of £4, I did loose £3.52 on a table too but it was a very mixed table and unlike the £4 loss didn't involve bad decision as much apart from not leaving.
their was one other loss too of -£0.33
this week i will be having a break from sky poker i just don't have the confidence and so have lost my BR totally. freerolls i will still be joining but apart from them nothing else.
i will give 888poker a try because they will not know much about me also i will get back to being fully focused on cash tables again and well i will be able to use the holdem manager to review my play better.
so the diary will be quiet for the next week.
this was the hand which sounded the alarm.
the 750BH at 10:40 seems to an MTT i do very well in i tried the mini on Thursday but was not able to get that big a stack in the mini on Saturday i didn't seem to get any hands at all so my stack was just draining away then when i tried a £2.30BH my stack was lost quickly. so i decided to give 1 last MTT a try the £750BH at 10:40 BI 5.50 and again got past the bubble
overall my winnings was £7.65.
while most nights i will be playing cash i think Friday and Saturday will be 2 nights i will use playing that MTT
The 2 freerolls at 7ish are quite decent, I've played them a few times and cashed for £2 plus, if playing mtts, almost covers the bi!
If you ever want to talk about MTT's send me a message anytime.
as soon as the flop was done i asked myself why call preflop knowing that if i miss the flush draw he is going to do the cbet and i will fold, a 2.30 MTT might call my raise preflop and not do much cbetting post flop but with this the aggression 3bets and position are done for a reason which i will know next time
this viillian said that he was holding AA which i don't believe he had really myself but i think i give him a bit of tilt after the fold he did on the river.
the raise on the flop was to bluff my hand into being a set or a middle pair that is defending from the broad way cards
the 9 on the turn i just saw as a brick because i was still behind to the big pairs and still ahead of the broadway cards so when he just calls i see myself getting the best of cards on the river to do a bluff, if he had A7 well UL to me but most times i'm thinking he has either an over pair or the broadway card so i took my chance with the bluff and got the fold i wanted.
the reason for my play was i had seen him in a sat earlier where he was sounding a bit tilted or stressed so could see him making mistakes.
the £20 deposit i have just made i want it to be my last one for sure.
i did get into the super roller on sunday and as the post above states i didn't make it.
i do cause myself too much pressure because i know that i have a low BR so will be pressured into getting past the bubble.
the lower BI might not be aggressive but they are very loose so i can struggle to play some of my AK Aq or 99-QQ hands especially when an A comes.
with the higher limit the hand range might be tighter but the thing with theseguyes is they do have much more aggression and will bluff sometimes so if i do miss i get left with the decision do i don't i.
playing cash is the bestthing for me and so my aim is to reach £300-£500 by Christmas.
my cash tables today were
-£3.23 -£7.07
£3.63 £2.89 £1.39
i also won £1.97 in a timed FR and £3.83 profit from 1 DTD MTT overall was profit £2 playing the 3 DTD and the freerolls
sunday and Monday might have been quiet but today was anything but quiet one nl4 cash table I was able to turn what looked a loss of £12 into a profit £13.87 from 2 hands which had 2 all ins
this one was set up perfect I had position and knowing that I had quite a wide range and lost some big pots I expected villain x (loose aggro) to try stealing it putting me on the flush draw which was then completed with no 4th spade.
Having qualified for the mini turbo BH from it's free roll I got off to a very good start and was thinking I would be able to get onto the final table but that changed when I went SBv BB and lost with this
