my confidence with MTTs at the minute is very high and today I again did very fairly well winning a profit of £11.68. i was in 8 MTT overall 5 BH 1timed the orfordable and 1 sat. things didn't go too well in the sat(2.60), the orfordable(3.30), a £300BH(5.75) and the mini i did get 1 head in the mini but nothing else.
my finishing position in them that i did good in timed MTT BI £3.30 pos 9/44 won £5.86, £350BH BI5.75 pos9.82 won £12.03, £250BH BI2.30 pos 6/113 won £9.43 and £500BH BI £2.30 pos 8/249 won £13.78
as for my cash games well they would have been ok but a disaster the happened on a nl8p table and i lost not £8 but £16 the two hands whiched caused it were these- this one when he checks the flop i just didn't seem him having much chance of a pair so i might aswell try repping 1010 or JJ

i still got a cash table profit of £5.81. so my overall profit was £17.49 BR is £190.61 the reason for an increase in nearly £40 is i did get a winning prize this week of £20 from a golden ticket.
Hand 1 craig, love it! Brilliant aggression, and you are just really unlucky he has called here. Pretty terrible call imo too with just ace high. Extremely ul Posted by LARSON7
Hand 1
More like burning money than brilliant aggressionimo. AK is the only hand in his range he might fold. I think it's a fold pre, although you can possibly justify a call. Check flop, the amount of times he c/f flop after min 4 betting pre is negligible and we never have best hand. I'd also check the blank turn as played
Hand2 flop seems a standard fold to me when we get raised multiway on that board
Glad MTTs are being kind, they can be a cruel beast
RE cash Grantorino +1
Hand 1 pre is a fold when you get 4bet, why are you 3betting anyway? You should have just called his first raise.
This play might work at 20nl where people know what the fold button does, but at 4nl />10nl dont bother, unless vs 4nl nit regs. but then dont ship the turn, as a nit reg will not generally be calling AK should they call your flop bet.
Hand 2
This is a worry to me, you are not putting together information over the streets. Persoanlly I fold the flop, but surely on the turn alarm bells must be going off? What hands do you think he is taking the flop and turn lines with? AK as he had is at the very bottom of his range.
one of the reason for the call with hand 2 was I had been getting into a bit of a rivalry with him where he was doing a lot of donk bets or raising the bets I made. in other words you could say he was a bully.
with hand one their was only 1 hand that I was now thinking is a threat preflop and that hand was AA it only changed from post flop where i thought right away he was not AK and so i tried to bluff a hand such as JJ or 1010.
Never under any circumstances but a player on one specific and, give them a range and as the hand develops you can consider making the range of hands tighter.

Posted by craigcu12
a bit of a mistake here by a threat i mean if A comes on the flop AK and AQ were ruled out preflop and it only changed post flop where i was thinking AK or AQ.
these days preflop reraises i see only being AA KK and QQ unless he is a well known regular to nl4p and 8p.
today was a day of good cash tables with a not so good MTT I made a profit today as a whole of £6.77 made from a £20.23 profit from cash tables and a loss of £13.46 from the MTT I did try a few sats today which were partly the cause and also I mistakenly entered a 5.75 BH far too late and was on a table with some big chip stacks leaving me with trouble surrounding my hands.
when I was in the mini today I could not have asked for a worst table. things started of ok. where the trouble started was when this maniac of a villain for some reason fealt it was best to start making lots of shoves when it was still early.

the problem was I just didn't know weather or not to call this hand i'm guessing was a good one because stangely he mucked this one
bad day of MTT mixed with an awesome day on the cash tables.
in the MTT luck just wasn't going my way with 6/8 getting bad luck i entered the mini primo as i was going well in a main primo sat but then disaster struck and TBH i wish i waited until that sat finished before reg for the mini. if tht was not bad enough i was in a sat for the £2B on the final table when this happened

my cash overall today was very good in my early session their was a lot of entertainment what was happening was one nl4p had a player that couldn't stand small pots when ever he had something the pot had to be big so their was so much aggression he wasn't even that tight he was texting a lot if he beat me but while he was doing that i laughed my head of as i had a nl10p which i dominated and that won £22.18 compared to a final loss of £5.76 on the nl4p. a similar thing occurred this evening only this time just bad luck so i suffered 2 small losses of 5.55 and 2.95 on an act and nl8 but that was returned from a MS table which give profit of £31.26. my tables overall got me a final profit of £53.33 the outcome overall was £23.88 .
it should have been £46.13 if i thought before entering the mini and them two very late MTTs and if i didn't get that very unlucky sat BB then it would have been £57.13. so i wasted ~£23
well i guess my luck today was already used on some bandit machines this afternoon where i was hitting quite well. i had a few MTTs a suffered some bad luck with them. (-25.55) then after a bit of cash play i tried a few SnG which again just give more back luck (-13.40) i did turn things round and did quite well on the cash tables (£18.35) but a lot of that was probably helped by some decent bluffing
weather or not he did have the K i don't know but i did get the perfect card on the river

lot of low cards so thought well you have 2 over cards and position so why not bluff a middle pair then when he checks the river i thought well unless it's a hand such as AQ KQ or QJ then perhaps he will fold thinking i have a pair.

The first hand with your pocket 10's villain was me. I was chasing the nut flush. Not sure if the turn should have been a fold or call for me. Posted by AcidMan27
if on the turn you had nothing but the flush then yeh I think folding should have been the choice made because you were out of position and most clubs would be the end and I would fold for sure and if it was 98 I had (which is what I was minicing) then cards such as Kc-10c easily lead to better two pairs 6/5c is a straight danger 4-2c bluff or flush as for the 8 FH is possible.
right I am going to have a couple of months which I won't post anything onto this. it's just so I can be secretive with how i'm doing both MTT's and cash. I will come back to it.
augest was yet another awful month for me with too much MTT addiction the main losses were from sats.
what i am going to start trying from this month is rather than using the sats instead i will try and gain the money from timed MTT and DYM and use it to buy into the semi or the main event right away because timed MTT i do have a good record with and it is probably helped due to the short amount of time you have before they finish so villians don't always risk their chips.
from the 17th i will be not on the poker much for a month or two as their is a new game for ps3 out GTA5 so i will be playing on that for most the day.
I dont really understand this. Cash is clearly your game, why waste time and money on MTTs? Posted by calcalfold
the main time i'm poor with MTT is when they are the low stakes them MTT are filled with masses of limpers chasers donks and CS basically poor players take this hand for instance I know I would be going in anyway but the case with it was it's as if he can't do betting post flop

cbetting if I miss is a nightmare too why can't this guy just do a raise pre for all he knows I could well have had a premium in my hand or A10
Remember Craig, we want to play against ''poor'' players, be it cash or an MTT. And you seem to concern yourself with how others play, but the only thing within our control is how WE play.
We don't have to raise that button above, we can let it go. We have a very marginal hand, and the villain has limped in with 20BB behind, we simply don't need to get involved with J6s.
After nearly 4 weeks away from poker to try and get myself away from poker, hopefully I will now be avoiding MTT's much more and back into cash again where my winning streak began. i might still play the odd MTT but the cash games are better. my aim is to get the BR back to £300 by the end of the year
i had a 1.5 hour session today on 5 tables
winning tables were £2.20 and £4.31 loosing tables were -0.10 -0.49 and -£3.17
even 3 weeks seems long enough for people to forget the type I was. the hit/miss types and nitty types seem to have gone down in numbers it's calling station and even the odd unknown aggro type that seem to be about
normally it's the flush that bets the turn

A might be possible but in the summer these hand seem to be folding the flop
today has been a poor day with 3 sessions overall. the first one which was where most them hands above were from had the worst with losses of £3.42 £5.07 £4.32 £1.88 and even a loss of £14.10 almost every one was from nl4 £5.07 the exception. the only winning table that session was 8.45 profit from an action table
in the second session I tried a bit of Omaha hi lo for a change and entered 1 hi low MTT and 2 nl4 cash tables they were quite relaxing. I didn't succeed in the MTT but I did ok on the cash tables a loss of 55p was on one but it was erased with a winning of £2.73 on a second table.
my final session was not as bad and did finish out as a winning session with table outcomes £4.13, £2.24 £1.70 -£1.07 and -£1.15.
the overall finish was a loss of -17.81 BR is currently £95.37
it was clear really today was not my day just by looking at this hand
my first session today was an up down really I had 5 cash table (4nl4+1 act) 1 had a terrible period and got a loss of £7.08 the act also was not as I hoped and I lost £2.07 on that table. thankfully I did recover it from profits of £5.51 £4.06 and £1.50 and so the session finished at +£1.92.
things are going from bad to worse with each and every session not working out well.
I had two other sessions this evening and they were both disasters. the first one got one very good table but 3 table were poor the out comes from all 5 were +£0.67, +£12.16, -£5.12, -£8.14 and -£2.49
then I had a break before the last happy hour and it proved to be the worst session of all with +£2.31, +£2.33, -£6.60, -£8.00, -£6.67 and -£4 the BR is currently £73.74
Maybe for one session play with 3 or 4 tables maximum.
Play really tight for the first 15-20 minutes until you know how the table is playing. Then after you have the table sussed, play the way which is most suitable for the table.
Pick out your spots on the table, and with value hands go for maximum value.
due to the football and having a friend over today, I didn't have time for very much poker.
I did manage to get in one session before MOTD and it managed a low but profitable period. rather than the 5 tables I usually have, I decided to just play on 3 and would the hand histories below that way I could get more time to review how my opponents were playing.
the table outcomes finished as +£1.44, +£1.20 +£1.10 and I did get a loss of -£0.11 but I didn't spend long on that table as it was not easy to get a good style of play to work.
today I can blame only myself for the terrible day I did have some bad luck but it was mostly a case of me forgetting that these tables are passive tables so expect decent hands to be revealed.
the overally winning tables total was £27.83 while the loosing total was £43.30 6 tables managed winning over a £1 compared with 9 tables loosing over £2 each. the tables themselves were losses of -£8 -£2.63 -£2.04 -£7.87 -£4 -£3.43 -£2.44 -£8.82 and -£3.66 all of which were from nl4 or act
the only big winning tables were £2.63 £1.31 £7.53 £3.50 £1.44 and £9.13 again from nl4 or act the rest of the winning tables were very small.
I did do 2 cheap MTT sats and went out in the with just bad luck my overall loss was -26.97 and my BR is now a mere £50.92.
all I can really say but is I deserve the bad form when I do things like this
i should have did the jam on the turn here because i was very unlikely behind him on the turn and the river should have been a clear fold

i might have the over pair but really it only slightly stronger than top pair and really any two pair or set is possible plus AA-JJ are still possible on these tables so i should have folded here.

if this hand doesn't convince me enough to consider thinking when i see a bet i don't know what will.
i think i might have been taking it the wrong way before.
what i was thinking was the main reason behind playing tight was the risk of a calling station but what i am now thinking is that it's probably got a lot to do with villians being just too passive so i will never know what the villain has got as he is just going to call my bet also flush and straight draws i am now thinking will never win more money than they loose because again when i miss i will be left guessing what he has and a bluff will be tough and if they do fold they normally will do it as soon as the flush or straight hit or the very first bet i make.
i guess calling stations now are villians who play like a hit miss and if they hit they just call it down.

Things are going in the right direction.
BR £154.06
my confidence with MTTs at the minute is very high and today I again did very fairly well winning a profit of £11.68.
i was in 8 MTT overall 5 BH 1timed the orfordable and 1 sat.
things didn't go too well in the sat(2.60), the orfordable(3.30), a £300BH(5.75) and the mini i did get 1 head in the mini but nothing else.
my finishing position in them that i did good in timed MTT BI £3.30 pos 9/44 won £5.86, £350BH BI5.75 pos9.82 won £12.03, £250BH BI2.30 pos 6/113 won £9.43 and £500BH BI £2.30 pos 8/249 won £13.78
as for my cash games well they would have been ok but a disaster the happened on a nl8p table and i lost not £8 but £16
the two hands whiched caused it were these-
this one when he checks the flop i just didn't seem him having much chance of a pair so i might aswell try repping 1010 or JJ
so my overall profit was £17.49
BR is £190.61
the reason for an increase in nearly £40 is i did get a winning prize this week of £20 from a golden ticket.
Brilliant aggression, and you are just really unlucky he has called here. Pretty terrible call imo too with just ace high.
Extremely ul
AK as he had is at the very bottom of his range.
with hand one their was only 1 hand that I was now thinking is a threat preflop and that hand was AA it only changed from post flop where i thought right away he was not AK and so i tried to bluff a hand such as JJ or 1010.
Never under any circumstances but a player on one specific and, give them a range and as the hand develops you can consider making the range of hands tighter.
these days preflop reraises i see only being AA KK and QQ unless he is a well known regular to nl4p and 8p.
when I was in the mini today I could not have asked for a worst table. things started of ok.
where the trouble started was when this maniac of a villain for some reason fealt it was best to start making lots of shoves when it was still early.
Hand History #681442127 (20:40 17/08/2013)
the problem was I just didn't know weather or not to call this hand i'm guessing was a good one because stangely he mucked this one
the one hand I am think was played wrong was this
in the MTT luck just wasn't going my way with 6/8 getting bad luck i entered the mini primo as i was going well in a main primo sat but then disaster struck and TBH i wish i waited until that sat finished before reg for the mini.
if tht was not bad enough i was in a sat for the £2B on the final table when this happened
a similar thing occurred this evening only this time just bad luck so i suffered 2 small losses of 5.55 and 2.95 on an act and nl8 but that was returned from a MS table which give profit of £31.26.
my tables overall got me a final profit of £53.33
the outcome overall was £23.88 .
it should have been £46.13 if i thought before entering the mini and them two very late MTTs and if i didn't get that very unlucky sat BB then it would have been £57.13.
so i wasted ~£23
BR is now £221.21
i did turn things round and did quite well on the cash tables (£18.35) but a lot of that was probably helped by some decent bluffing
weather or not he did have the K i don't know but i did get the perfect card on the river
I was chasing the nut flush. Not sure if the turn should have been a fold or call for me.
it's just so I can be secretive with how i'm doing both MTT's and cash.
Cash is clearly your game, why waste time and money on MTTs?
them MTT are filled with masses of limpers chasers donks and CS basically poor players
take this hand for instance I know I would be going in anyway but the case with it was it's as if he can't do betting post flop
After nearly 4 weeks away from poker to try and get myself away from poker, hopefully I will now be avoiding MTT's much more and back into cash again where my winning streak began.
i might still play the odd MTT but the cash games are better.
my aim is to get the BR back to £300 by the end of the year
i had a 1.5 hour session today on 5 tables
winning tables were £2.20 and £4.31
loosing tables were -0.10 -0.49 and -£3.17
even 3 weeks seems long enough for people to forget the type I was.
the hit/miss types and nitty types seem to have gone down in numbers
it's calling station and even the odd unknown aggro type that seem to be about
normally it's the flush that bets the turn
today has been a poor day with 3 sessions overall.
the first one which was where most them hands above were from had the worst with losses of £3.42 £5.07 £4.32 £1.88 and even a loss of £14.10 almost every one was from nl4 £5.07 the exception. the only winning table that session was 8.45 profit from an action table
in the second session I tried a bit of Omaha hi lo for a change and entered 1 hi low MTT and 2 nl4 cash tables they were quite relaxing. I didn't succeed in the MTT but I did ok on the cash tables a loss of 55p was on one but it was erased with a winning of £2.73 on a second table.
my final session was not as bad and did finish out as a winning session with table outcomes £4.13, £2.24 £1.70 -£1.07 and -£1.15.
the overall finish was a loss of -17.81
BR is currently £95.37
