i said i would be mostly cash but it seems at the minute to still be MTTs.
today i managed to just scrape through the freeroll and qualified for the 2K BH and in the MTT itself i finished 13th
    craigcu12013£20.08 + £37.03 Head Prizes
what is starting to happen now is I've taken a step up with my aggression doing more 3bets preflop and thinking about the board more before making the decisions.

i think the early stages of MTT's are now no problem for me it is now the task of getting onto the final table even if it means risky decisions.

The mini too was just as unlucky but I can't win them all and them bits of bad luck were just what I had given so many others in the orfordable league.

    My day overall was a cash table loss of -9.59  (£7.96 nl8 1.05 nl4 2.29nl4) (-£4.31 nl8 -£6.25 nl4 -£0.33 nl4 -£10 MS challenge).

In SnG I I got a loss of
    -£2.85 (-£2.25 -£3.30 £2.70).

    The MTT that was a total of £130.02 (£120.14 orfordable £22.50 main -£3.60 sat -£3.62 mini -£1.80 x 3 AI sat).

    Overall I gained
    £117.58

so my BR now stands at £249.30 including the pounds for points from November of £18.31

my poker points are now 496

the last few weeks i have been playing some 9 max tables on 888 poker and from my experience on them it's about how much you can take advantage of play when on the button as not only is it not coming round as often but also the hand selection in the early position are extra tight

Yeah think thats were I struggled. Nitted up too much then got impatient esp oop and played too loose.

I will just be brief with this one because all I can say is Saturday night is the worst time to limp isolate.
I have lost over £100 from mainly nl10 and basically it was all about the fish and not the hit miss that I usually have.

    BR is £139.
  • edited December 2013
Craig £139 is a good amount to get back to grinding 4nl properly and start slowly building a good bankroll again to have a few shots at 10nl, rather than just getting to a big amount and caning aload of tables at that limit.

i seen it all now and can only say one thing i call too many times
their is no such thing as value betting, on micros it is either constant min raise, call call call AI, or jam right away. also premium pairs still need to be included in the range

On Tuesday night going into Wednesday morning all them bad calls, mega betting, cooldown, loosing flips and min donks caused a bit of tilt and I was chasing my money which made it low and so I decided to deposit £25.

why am I having all these bad periods?
the answer I have not being listening to music while playing.

the session I have just done was relaxing right from the start with 5 tables up (4 when the freerolls started) and not once did I get negative I just remained relaxed and managed to get profit on all 5 cash tables. £2.91 £0.82 £1.95 £1.11 £0.97 overall £7.76

    had this been a hand last night I would have been likely feeling annoyed wishing I left the table when I had the chipstack of £9 but this afternoon I just remained totally relaxed  xSmall blind  £0.02 £0.02 £2.36 0992 Big blind  £0.04 £0.06 £5.23   Your hole cards 8 A       RB241 Fold     oldyorky Call  £0.04 £0.10 £3.46 clubhammer Fold     craigcu12 Raise  £0.16 £0.26 £7.21 xCall  £0.14 £0.40 £2.22 0992 Fold     oldyorky Fold     Flop    Q J 6       xCheck     craigcu12 Bet  £0.30 £0.70 £6.91 xRaise  £0.60 £1.30 £1.62 craigcu12 Call  £0.30 £1.60 £6.61 Turn    8       xAll-in  £1.62 £3.22 £0.00 craigcu12 Call  £1.62 £4.84 £4.99 xShow A A    craigcu12 Show 8 A    River    4

I went for 1 attempted BH and finished just past the bubble so lost 18p and although it was a limp caller who then snap jammed on the river which I called without thinking of looking at his bet size, this time I didn't get one bit of stress and nor did the flips I lost or the chance of jams that I folded and would have won  cause any stress either. I did try a timed one with the money but it was a failure so I lost -5.68 but I did not get tilted like I was in recent days.

after the timed MTT i had one last cash session and it was another good one, it did get a few losses of
-£1.38 -£2.04 and -£1.50 but i didn't let that get in the way of how i was on the winning tables which got £3.25 £0.37 £1.70 and £6.18 on an action table so that session was 90p profit
overall today i made profit of
    £8.66

was another good relaxing afternoon session I did get larger profits from tables than yesterday but their were 2 losses too.
overall my bankroll has increased by £6.31, profits £5.63 act £5.46 and £0.74 nl4 losses were -£4 and -1.52 nl4.

the BR now is £33.76 (didn't include the £25 deposit)

now it's freeroll time and a few SnG.

  • edited December 2013

the freerolls were quick bust outs so I went for some SnG and overall they came to profit of £1.60.
I did enter the semi for the main event after failing to qualify from 2 sats for the semi the semi itself did get me into the main.

so having qualified for the main event it would be so great if I could get on the final table and managed to get a very good start with lots of hands coming my way. I did get past the bubble too and was still looking good but then came what was another of them passive type players who called with 99 and me holding 77 in the BB decided to jam and to my surprise the person who did an open raise folded instead it was the caller who called and what did he have 99 and hit the set which left me almost dead. still I finished 49th so got profit overall of
    93.75
the mini was not so luck and I went out that very early.

Well done on your deep run tonight, was a big field! Laster way longer than me :(

I've seen that exit hand in the clinic. Whilst I can't fault your play, I wouldn't say that the 99 hand was passively played. If there are shortish stacks lurking in the blinds or button, sometimes people will just call an early position raise with a strong hand to induce some action behind. Just unfortunate you fell into the 'trap', we've all been there!

the poker today was all about all in sats.
I did have a cash session to begin but it was quiet and got boring after a while and I was switching tables frequently, I had a total of 8 tables and got £1.06 made up from £2.14, £0.42 and £2.10 and -£1.22 -£0.10 -£1.48 £-0.80 and £0.00.

MTT's you could say I should have just registered for the main event because £42.80 was the cost from sats and semis mainly all in. as for the main event well that didn't go so well and I got just 1 head prize of £11.25 today.

the same can't be said about a £750 BH where I was able to finish 5th place

the orford league was not so good for me today and after winning it last week I went out it without getting past the bubble this week

finally I was in the mini and it too didn't go that well and the only money I got from that was when I went all in with a short stack and had 2 other smaller stacks who went all in too as well as a larger stack and I won the 2 heads.

Saturday through to sunday morning was like a game of two halfs.
the first session of the day was poor both cash and MTT, with cash I had an overall loss of £5.91 (-£9.70 -£0.71 £4.50) from 3 action tables. The MTTs were very poor and lost £32.70 and having got into the main at first attempt through a semi I had the cool down of all cooldowns KsJs vs QQ 9s Qs 10c 7d all in on the turn so having thought I was out I see what looked the card I wanted on the river but wrong that was not the FH I wanted and he won KsQsJs10s9s.
the mini itself was looking a very early exit too and at one point I was down to just 40 chips but I did retrieve the chipstack back to 3K for a while but it wasn't long before I went out.

I don't know what I was thinking when I went all in with J10s after a player decided to donk me on the flop AAK all I can think was the reason for that is I was getting to wound up about limpers and caller who all of the suddenly will go for a massive bet.

I was about to go to bed and just try forgetting that night when I saw the charity table so decided to stay up for most the night and play on that table and things had changed totally, having lost £38 so far and seeming to make bad decision nl10 but what sounded like a big risk turned out to be a very good cash session and in that cash session I made a profit of over £70.59 including one MS table alone getting £54.92
I had 5 nl10 table in  that period (-£5.75 £13.09 £1.17 £5.71 £4.20) 2 MS tables (£54.92 £3.09) 2 action (£8.14 £0.49) and 1nl4p which was the charity table and although I lost the most money on that -£14.47 I don't care as that table was my favourite table of them all and I really enjoyed the chat it we had on it so thanks all.

today was a MTT day and overall it finished as a loss. I tried to get into the main but failed and the total spent was nearly as much as the BI (5 all in sats 2 semi and 1 £3.60 sat) so I lost £27.
I decided to enter 1 timed MTT for £3.30 and that was a failure as was the mini too.

I did have 1 good MTT and that was the DTD1 which I managed to finish 4th
    craigcu1204£23.81

I was doing well in DTD 3 too then came a one of them spots where it was all or nothing and i would have either trebled up or lost it all i had AK and the others hand QQ and JJ the turn did improve me to a flush but it was no to be so i went out that one. so finished 24th in it.

DTD2 was the only one which i didn't see much lucky so went out of that one early.

my overall loss for the day was -£17.49.

My BR might be at a loss today but my MTTs today still managed profit because in the 7pm freeroll i was able to get myself a seat into the UKOPs day 1 side event which has a BI of £55 and was very unlucky not to get into the UKOPs 1 itself.

so my BR as it stands is now £149.30 +£55 UKOP side.

i am going to keep that £25 deposit out of my BR total as i want to see if i can still reach my target of £300 before jan.

today was another good MTT day this time with the turbo main where I managed to finish 26th so overall I made a profit of £17.37 as I decided to go for the full BI and I did try 2 £2.40 sats.

    anoncowboy025£33.17
    craigcu12026£33.17
    LESLEYCHIC027£33.17
the mini started off well but things soon turned when I lost out calling them who were brave enough to jam with lesser hands. then when it was my turn to jam their was even villians with 5BB who didn't want to call.

    craigcu12 Return  4150.00 0.00 5150.00
The more I see of this the more I think that if I don't hold AK-A10 then I would say suited connectors are better than A9-A2 because I just know that if I am getting called it is by Ahigh or a pair and I don't want to let these nits keep their chips stacks until they get that ace, they might want to just pass the bubble but my aim is to win them.

I did manage a small prize by knocking out 2 players, 1 was when I jammed K5o and got called by AQ but flop came K44 and the ace failed to follow, the second one was when I got to see a flop with 109s OTB as AK just called an open bet that was done by UTG rather than 3bet himself then when the flop showed KQJ he bet so I raised and he went all in so I called and stayed ahead. so my loss in that MTT was just -£1.74

I did play a few SnG today 3 in total 2 £1.15, 1 £5.50 hi lo and they all were won so I made profit in them £6.20

My only bad thing today was cash and it had a lot of big losses which added up overall to a loss of -£16.46, to start with I was on 1 action and 1 nl10 and they were both losses of £5.23 and £6.41, then I tried a few MS tables and they didn't go that well today either and only 1 of the 3 I had was profit and that was £5.01, the 2 losses I had were -£2.86 and -£13.17, finally after I went of the main I tried 3 action tables and they were the best tables with a profit of £3.99 and £3.40 and just 1 loss of -£1.19.

the overall total i got today in poker was £7.11 profit.
so my BR is now £154.67 poker points is now 2374

perhaps I should have taken a break from sky poker today instead of Wednesday because the day itself was very poor.
I did have 2 pints whilst I was out for a meal but the way I reacted to some of my beats I guess even 2 pints of lager can cause mistakes and make it harder to accept a beat.

my loss was massive -£36.72 was from MS tables and today was one too many because even if I have a hand that I really want to ask about the chances are they will just ignore me so i might as well stay on nl4 where it's easy and i don't have to ask for advice on hands.

as for MTTs well they lost £85.28 mostly from that main event and it's sats.

so my BR after today is £22.23.

Friday will be a day where i will spread my poker out.

    Craig,

Having looked through your recent posts, I have seen a lot of lost ££ chasing flushes.

IMO with the A8s hand, no need to be raising to 20p, we are going to be pushing out any weaker spade/spade holdings that we would stack. You can overbet the board on later streets and villians do not notice at 4nl.

I generally find raising to 12p at very most is best with A9s and lower In position. OOP dont feel that you cant limp, this is 4nl remember.

OBV the above is not relevant at 10nl+

things have started off bad today with a few big losses on nl4.
    -£7.02 -£4 -£4.87 -£2.30 the only winnings were£2.54 and £0.14.

my BR has gone down to just £13.42 although I still have that £25 deposit in as well.

I am still going to play 1 MTT this evening and that is the orford league.

Friday night going into Saturday was no better and I feel quite lucky that the 2 sessions i had managed to get 1 massive table profit of £11.71 and £11.23.

My second and 3rd session might have been bad but one thing for sure they were nowhere near as bad as the first one, session 2 did get a tiny profit of 77p and session 3 was a loss of -£5.25 but that loss was micro compared to session 1.

so my overall loss was -
    £23.29 mostly from session 1.
well the BR is just £8.94

one positive I will take is I did put much more thought into weather or not to call in my second and 3rd session, not often do i fold QQ pre but the reason for me doing it here was this villain i had already once seen this villain not 3bet with QQ or AK so I'm right away thinking he has got to have KK or AA.

    Hmmm, not sure.
You look like a genius on this occasion but I'm not sure that folding QQ pre flop is going to be correct long term.
you really need a rock solid read to put someone on this tight a range.

Against TinTin that's an easy fold. Slackalice and Countess its borderline so if it was any of them I think its fine.

Against 99% of the rest on a Friday night, I snap call pre.

normally I never would fold QQ but already I know the one holding KK is a very tight and nitty villain, QQ might be a premium pair that is expected to go all in pre but i already seen him  call an open raise with QQ and AKs and his betting post flop has always been when he has it.
