Quick up date as not posted for a while. Not played much, as my sister's over from Spain & staying at mine - so now it's 2 females in the house giving me stick for not paying them enough attention.

Pretty much followed the pattern for the rest of this year so far - losing almost as many sessions as I win - running bad for the longest period I've experienced, with occaisional spells of normality/run good.

Biggest winning session since last post £36.95/ biggest loss £14.59 total for the month up £37.44, which is pretty rubbish but still a win.

@ Lonesome - hi, glad to see you're doing well @10nl.  I saw you on one of my 4nl tables the day after your post & you seemed to be doing great.JUst dropped back for old times sake eh ?

@walesboy - shared a table with you a few days back. Think I made the right fold here as I never hit the flush. If not well played!

I had a look mate about an hour ago, it looked like you were crushing every table.

If you were 4 tabling/ 5 tabling don't you think it might give you a bit more of an edge? I have played against you mate, and you play really well, you made the most amazing fold against me!

The reason i'm saying about less tables is playing so many tables it's hard to pick up table dynamics/ when people are making moves etc as you don't really have the time to focus in on who's doing what.

I have no doubt you can and will crush this level.

I posted this up on the poker clinic, asking what people thought about these hands and if they would call or fold. I wonder what everyone thinks that plays this level?

Hand 1, do you think we can call here on the turn?
*I hut my flush on the river, and went a bit OTT and shipped the river lol*

Hand 2, Against this opponent, it's quite a tight player. There range here is QQs through to AA. Was the 3 bet to expensive a call to make to "set mine"? Or are you always calling here?

Hand 3 Easy call? Or fold? I thought it was an easy call cause i had so many outs. Would anyone be folding here?

Just wondering what everyone thinks about these 3 hands?

    hi mate,
tbh it's all 'hit 'n' miss' atm.i could and have played less tables but am happy playing 9.
i actually think i'm getting an edge playing 9 rather than 2 4 or 6,even though y'days session was a small win,it was a struggle and i was happy walking away with it.
you know just how much a difference a few hands can make to every sessions results, and y'day was no exception.
i have won my last 3 sessions so am happy with how it's going.
it's all about the long term for me and these nl4 sessions are simply a stepping stone hopefully, towards getting to the next level.
it's now become a mental battle more than anything and i'm more than up for it.
i'm making mistakes along the way but that's to be expected.
i'm happy with my game and more importantly now,my attidude and commitment.

thanks mate for your comments, and support, much appreciated.
always enjoy our little battles at the table.long may it continue.

i hate trying to multi table on the laptop as i cn only get 6 on it, because of this i only had a short session yesterday lunchtime which resulted in a £2 loss. a bit bored i decided to stay away from the cash tables and i took part in the community wednesday. i dont mind tourneys on the laptop as i never multi table them to the same level as cash tables. anyway got my first bink in a while taking one of them down and final tabling another 2 making me about £80 up on the tourneys. i will get back to the cash over the weekend

You HAVE to raise that flop, just mash the bar up to like 30p or something.

Unlucky on being behind this time, you shouldn't be very often.

    hi mate,
yeah, only got myself to blame,as playing these marginal hands as i call them can get you into trouble,as i've demonstrated here.and yes i should have raised flop.
bet poor old KK wasn't overly happy either, or the K flush guy. lols

    larson...
    hand 1  no

    hand 2 depends how i'm feeling.if u r  pretty sure it's QQ KK AA i fold.
i  also look at his stack here. if he's only got 100 bb's easy fold. 200 or more might be worth a look
as if we hit could be happy days

hand 3  you have invested 20p. you have to assume you are behind. if we call you are about 50/50
can we find a better spot to use our £2.80? probably.
these type of gambling situations come up alot over a night's play.
as it's a 50/50 spot it's not profitable long term calling here imo.
saying that,it's easier said than done folding here, and could simply come down to how i' m feeling at the time.(i know if this was a dym situation,it's always a fold, but cash i'm not so sure?)

In Response to Re: 2p-4p challenge : Hi mate. Just want to stop you before you tighten your range too much, you NEED to be playing these MARGINAL hands as you called it (its nowhere near marginal imo btw). Obvi you carnt win every pot with them but folding hands like JQ suited would be criminal unless the pre flop action stated otherwise. This type of hand will win you alot more cash long term than the likes of AA and KK etc will. Also if your not raising the button with these hands or not raising a flop as strong as that maybe we have spotted the reason why your BR isnt going up so fast ? Not trying to be critical mate you know that but if your playing this way in general you are then relying on hitting your hands in order to win pots and also relying on other players having big hands to pay you enough when you do. Best of luck mate. Daz.

    hi mate,
    thank you for your comments.
all good points and i'm sure you have hit the nail on the head here.(i'll try and work on it.)
yes,i do play suited connectors, etc to balance my range.
i don't normally raise p/flop here in thses type of situations, when others have limped in as the pot has already built up quite nicely pre-flop and i'm almost always going to be behind here, and need to hit a strong flop.
i know i got unlucky with 3rd nuts this time, and more often than not i would have taken down a nice pot with this hand.
i should have raised on the flop and as you say this is probably a reason why my b/roll isn't going up as much as it might be.
i have been playing much more aggressive, for me anyway, more of the time but i know i need to work on this part of my game untill it becomes automatic,as i'm sure it is for players like yourself.
playing 9 tables as i am i'm playing lots of hands and getting lots of practise, which i am happy with.
it is becoming easier almost by the day, certainly weekly.

another thing that i am finding atm is i'm losing a number of big hands similar to this most sessions, and if i was to win them rather than lose them then the sessions result would look very different.
i know you can't win them all,but even winning just one would help.  lol
still not worried though as it is still relatively early days and i'm confident things will turn around.

    cherrs Daz,

    :)

    larson.

hand 1. i dont really like calling the turn just because of the odds but can understand it if you believe the other player will come along. the result is a cooler but its one i think can be avoided.

hand 2. the 10's i think is a tricky one. if the opponents is deeper its an easy set mine but their stack size and their 3 bet puts it right on the edge for me. personally i call here sometimes and fold sometimes, being in position helps a call because you can rep a flop should it come something nasty for a high premium. i dont call too often because it becomes expensive just calling 3 bets with the sole intention of set mining.

hand 3. i hate calling off a large stack on a draw but i think this is a spot where you are calling off as a stat fav. they have done a rookie move with a premium pair (thats what i believe they have) and the only pair you dont want them to show is aces, any other pair like kings or queens then you have a flush draw a gut shot and an over card so you should have like 15 outs going for you. if its aces then you have 9 for the win and another 3 for a chop. if i seen that flop i'd be looking to get it in prob thru a check raise, the fact they have shoved behind i dont think changes the decision

Just finished another great session! Started off both of todays session poor as usual getting stacked a few times but after an hour it was Happy Days :)

Doing this challegne ive finally realised how important multi tabling is... (So crazy i feel like ive seen the light lol) Usually i play one table, get stacked, reload, get stacked, reload etc etc but playing 4 tables im still yeah losing on one but the other tables im winning on make my losses up

Cant believe ive just onto this, people have been telling me for ages but i didnt believe them but now anyone who doesnt multi table is an IDIOT
