Losing losing losing at nl4. I am far too loose and can only play 4 tables at once so get bored. The only results i get are against the real maniacs and then i lose it all to the tight guys. *sigh* Back to tournys! Posted by jimb0d1
I thought you were doing quite well. We had some good little battles for a while!
Another good session, still made 2 or 3 bad calls which I was not happy with. Running total: +£75.50 Posted by stfc_1953
Well played, that's a great return in a week at this level. I'd be very happy with that. I haven't played much this week because of work commitments, but have made a modest profit when I have (about £15 I think, will work it out on Sunday).

Thank you! I am retired so in between dog walking and watching big bang theory I can play! At the moment just 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon is my limit.
Stayed up late tonight and lost £5.18 as a result! Unlucky in quite a few pots (set under another set three times) and Aces vs Kings and KQ allin and K flop!

Good going this week - well done. Of course running my under-repped aces into your quad 4's must have helped!
Not played much since returning from a golf trip to Turkey, but turned a £10.40 win tonight despite the above. Probably not going to be playing as much for a while as I am starting to renew the kitchen - well she has been waiting for about 3 years! Work has gone a bit quiet so an ideal opportunity to get it done now the warmer weather is here.
haven't posted in a while good to see thread is still going. what's happened - well last month was a losing one. only my second since i started keeping records about 18 months ago. only about 3-4 BIs so not much. still struggling to have the inclination to get the hours in and that, i think, is effecting my play. things i did naturally before i have stopped doing or forget to do and it is costing me. i have re-plugged some but other leaks have appeared. started the new month last night but was interrupted when i got a call from the scout camp my son is at to say he'd been sick. so went to get him abot 11pm. started again when back and was up a couple of BIs which then i proceeded to lose (KK v 52 - flop 552! was a good one). ended with a small loss which is annoying. should have quit ahead (one of those leaks) to start building up the confidence. son back at the scout camp now. think the beig sick was first time/first night nerves/excitement. on stand by now though which means no drink for the whole bank holiday weekend ((
forgot to ask thinking of doing some tournies as a change and to learn any good low stakes ones on here? seems to be a lot of bounty hunter ones. was hoping for more "normal" ones
cheers
PPS! Also in reference to my other pos - could my losses be due to the fact i actually consdiered withdrawing some of my br to bank some profit ??? conspiracy theorists would say yes! where's my tin hat i say )

I remember that hand. I actually thought you may have a set on the flop too so the 4 on the turn made my heart jump a bit!
Stfc, not after a challenge, but I might be running you close. As it stands up £80odd for the month so far. Posted by calcalfold
Race ya!
Nice going, I'm nearly at my 5p/10p target but I'll probably do one more week at 2p/4p if you want to stick up your results? Doesn't have to be competitive - I find it helps me with motivation.
Hey everyone, been a while since this thread was used so Jesus style, it's getting resurrected.
I've stopped posting results regularaly "in a journey", so i am going to start using this thread to show results from cash only. If anyone else wants to fire up results as well, please do!
I've been pretty bad at tracking results, despite 2 good spread sheets been sent over by 2 forum regs, so my friends this is a spread sheet for the next wee while. I am going to be playing steady consistant and a bit cautious for the time being! Making mad moves and being loose are gone from my game for the time being. Cant beat a bit of free information.
Session 1, June 13th 45 Minutes
Nothing really amazing happened, i was card dead for a lot of the time, tried to go for max value when i had a hand. Didn't have one flush/ straight/ or set, but managed to eek out a small profit of £1.63
Played well overall. A couple of spots where i called donk bets on the river when the flush got there, and i had the feeling i was beat, but still made the call with 2 pair. Maybe a bit of a leak. In saying that they were not overly big bets, so maybe there is an argument for calling.
Over all i ended up down about £4.
One of the last hands (below) was the difference between a profit and a loss from the session. Quite happy with how i played it. HAd a read on opponent, was pretty sure he had a flush draw, which he did, the turn gave him a pair, and river 2 pair. He called a massive pre flop bet with J2!
Really weird started every session down, then went onto win a bit. Often find that's the case lose a bit first 10 minutes, then it picks up.
Played quite well over all today, 4 tabling quite comfortable, made some mistakes, but overall was getting value when i had hands. Overall, didn't run to good, but not terrible either.
This hand here, quite a difficult one, the full house got there as did the flush, but i still bet out with my straight on the river. Prob a raise fold if re raised. (Edit, just seen it was min raised pre, so yeah i know a fold!)

Tonight I played NL4 properly for the first time in about a year, so may as well join in. Let me go fetch a hand I played against you, it's the only interesting one I played all night.
4tabled for 4 hours tonight. I was breaking even for most of the night until a couple big hands near the end in which I won a couple buyins.

The most interesting hands were played against LARSON7 after developing a dynamic last night in the forum cash game. In this hand I decided he hardly ever has a flush here and I never have a decent one, so I station, obvs.

Verus me first hand, I played it terrible, I needed to bet the turn! As played, I would have called the river too.
2nd hand, yeah looks like a fold without any reads. Would be really unusual for them not to have it here, unless it's a total maniac.
2 buy ins, good going. Where do you normally play?
2p-4nl seems to be a lot harder in the last couple of weeks, sinse that challenge in May.
I used to make profit consistantly and easily, now it's a lot more difficult.
Today, i made a profit after 2 hours of play! Of a whole buy in.
Started off up, then lost a big pot with 2 pair versus flush. Grinded it back up.
Best hand, and prob largest post was this one here; opponent didn't mind getting it in, was happy to just open shove flop was confident he was callin, couldnt put him on straight!

This hand here, i thought Wilhelm was weak in the hand! Then when he calls the turn, i'm so close to giving up but the river was a brilliant card to rep the straight, and i cant put him on a Queen.
Quite a bad night all in all. After a few set up hands to start the night I was in the red for a couple of buyins until near the end when I managed to get back to even. Then ran KK into AA and QJ and came out last. Ended up doing a little under a fiver.
That was the hand i had Ace of D, 8 clubs, when the flop came down 3 diamonds lol
You bet pot on the turn and i still called! To brick the river. Blah played it really bad, even if i hit i'm not getting paid, unless you've flopped the King flush. But looked more like a set.

Count them. I wouldn't bother.
Edit: Well, I do bother, but I wouldn't recommend bothering. I'm just a stat freak.

Surely if you are posting up amount of hands played you can do a search.
Go into My Account, search Poker for last 24 hours, open up each session, count the hands.
Except, don't do this.
