Bad day at the tables lol Started out playing Hu games was doing really well won first 4/5 in a row, then hut a bad spell.
Had a shot at a £2 hu game, lost the first one, won the second one.
Entered the 10:05 BH, Flopped 2 pair with A 10, guy had called with an obscure 2 cards, and hut his open ender on the flop, after calling 2 pot size bets flop and turn lol
I just played 4 tables cash, was a really good session. I had a read at Doh's guide for 2p-4p tables, while i do a lot of that stuff was an interesting read and has helped out. I really don't know if I am a "winning" cash player at this level. On another thead it was getting discussed about not moving up levels until you "beat" the one you are playing. I don't have any hard and fast records for 2p-4p i would say over all i probably have a slight edge/ profit from playing at this level. Was quite interesting in Doh's artcile about playing a pocket pair, when you are 3 bet, i'll post up a good example of pocket 10s facing a 3 bet below.
When i was playing today, the only big pot i lost was J hi flush over Queen High flush ill post that up 2.
After i posted last night, i went on to lose a few more quid to CraigCU and ina couple of HU games, I was tired and shouldn't have been playing.
This was the only big hand i Lost in the session, i'm sitting in the BB, checks to the turn, there is a raise and a reraise, when i hit the flush on the river, i'm first to act that has been strenth shown on the turn, it' been limped preflop, I am thinking I have the best hand, if i shove good chance i am getting called by a weaker hand. I guess most people wont like the river ship? Maybe Check Raise it? Bet smaller, 3/4 pot size bet on river? I think whatever way, it was still going in

Another hand, i was thinking about DOHHHs thread when i was playing this hand lol I am 3 bet sitting with pocket 10's. opponents range is really narrow here to QQ KK AA, possibly AK or Jacks, but unlikely. When i am 3 bet, i know i am behind here (against this particular opponent), i was going to fold and then thought well i can set mine with the implied odds if i hit I am getting a stack. Just wondering if I got the odds, bearing in mind, implied odds to make this call? BAd call or good call?
Played 1 0.50 DYM tonight after reading the 100 £2.25 DYM money challenge, ended up winning it 4 handed i was sitting with 8000 chips! Won that and won about a quid from cash lol
I've been really happy with how i've done this week. I was playing a bit yesterday when i wasn't in the right mood for it. It's weird i knew i wasn't in the best frame of mind for it, but i still done it. I played 1 table at cash ok, but the other table was actually playing bad.
Today, I had a really good time of it and would say i was playing well getting maximum value from my good hands, and folding in the right spots.
I'm really glad I started up this diary, and do feel i am improving at poker all the time. There is still heeps i need to learn, and in poker it's a matter of constantly learning/ developing, i'm just happy it's going in the right direction.
With the TT hand, if you are 99% sure they have a bigger PP then your not getting the right odds to set mine. Need to both have deeper stacks. Posted by calcalfold
His call is ok here imo mate, he already had 20p in so he is only calling 32p extra knowing if he hits he has a very good chance of getting the lot
Played a bit of cash, within 10 minutes i was down 1 buyin, and the other 3 tables was down, but i ground it back up and ended up with about a fiver profit.
When i started playing Cash, within an hour i was down 2.5 buy ins! I was playing ok on 2 tables, and the other 2 i did'nt play well at all making hero calls with a 56 (pair of sixes) and another similiar hand against players i thought were bluffing haha i was wrong.
Lost quite a big hand to with Pocket Qs, on a 9 3 2 rainbow flop. There was already a player all in for about 60p, other opponet put in a min bet (i shoved) they had pocket 9s!! The worst of it was was i had a note on this player saying "bets monsters really small", i should have just checked called and it would have saved me some money.
I managed to grind these losses back, and ended up in profit for today.
I was thinking once i get to £220-£230, i might play a bit of 10nl, this would help me get to £300 a lot quicker.
If i lose a buy in at 10nl, then i wouldn't reload until I had built up again. If i was to lose £10 so bet it, but there is the potential there to spin up the money a lot quicker.

why not play 1 or 2 tables even at nl10 mate.you are easily good enough imo. i personally wouldn't mix the two myself as the tables that matter would be the nl10 tables. gl
I played a bit of 10nl tonight, i ended up pretty much breaking even,
My Bank roll is £211.03
I'll maybe wait till i get to £300 before i really get stuck into 10nl, I'm happy the way it's going at 4nl at the moment. Like i can easily 4 table 4nl, and seem to be doing all right at the moment. I can't really afford to multi table 10nl at the moment, incase i had a bad run.
it will just be a case of slowly slowly catch a monkey. I don't know if it is possible, but after I get to £300 my next target is going to be £1000. That will be an epic journey! I'm sure i will achieve £300, but it will be a lot harder to get to £1000. The good thing is my game has improved heeps over the last 2 months, if i keep it up maybe i could achieve £1000, but like i said it would be a collossal task.
it can be done m8 just takes time do u play mtts larson all it takes is 1 bink in a mtt to start the ball rolling ya doing well
i deposited £50 in september last year and started on 10 nl and played mtts i sattelited in the primo and came 5th that started the ball rolling got £802 back for that n then i played 30nl for abit till my b/r built up and in january i hit the 3 grand mark so it can be done tbh i was on a right heater at that point hit a brick wall since i came back on end of feburary start playing again i have the odd small mtt bink here n there
good luck in ya challenge larson great start for ya

Amazing mate! Some going!
Before i posted up a thread talking about MTT's i was going to give them a go. During that time I done nothing, it's not because i was unlucky, just because i was playing them totally wrong.
I did ok in one a week past on saturday i came 7th out of 400 plus runners. But when i was doing the "MTT challenge" thread on here, i was finding that i was generally winning at other areas but losing money by the barrell playing MTT's. Tho doing that thread has helped improve my game at MTTs. Generally play tight earlier on, try and go for maximum value when you have a hand, and loosen up later on when the blinds are bigger.
The reason you turned £50 into 3 grand is cause you have skill and a brilliant game! I'm a long way off that.
I might try playing satelites for the bigger tournies to see if i can get that alusive bink!
Thanks im sure u will get there m8 its hard work not a overnite thing ive been playing poker for 10 years imalways watching poker on the channel 861 or reading about poker im poker mad lol just takes time like carlo citrone says its a never ending game so slowly slowly catch a monkey each day
haha that's what i'm doing, seems like a tenner a day or there abouts over the last week lol
I seen your name when i started playing on sky, prob on the tv channel, well your name is kinda memorable haha Did you cash in some money, take a break then come back on the site with your £50?
i just took a break for a month withdrew the 3k roll i had n just went out with m8es n have a laugh kinda forgot what that felt like as i was playing poker alot dnt really ave a social life so wanted some me time time out for a month as it does get to ya playing all the time i did spend nearly a grand in that month does go quickly if ya not earning it i dnt regret having time out at all
as we all need to have a life away from poker but i treat this as my job as im out of work and this is my income so i came back begining of end of feb /march and put 2k back on and been doing ok not great about £100 upso far since i came back on i try not to play cash as much as i think im far better mtt player and i dunno why i tilt on cash as mtt i just shrug my shoulders n move on
Sigh, never got a chance to say congrats on getting over £200 before you went below again lol. I'm sure you'll be back above £200 in no time.
Mixing cash stakes is fine and a good idea, it's something Ryan said I should do ages ago, it's much better to play a 20NL table full of bad players than a 30NL full of the best playyers on the site (unlikely to happen) just because your BR says you can play 30NL... table selection FTW.
You'll probably have to play different stakes at higher levels if you wanna multi-table anyway, not many levels are like 4NL where there's always like 20 tables running. Also gets you in the habit of not thinking about X number of pounds and just thinking X number of big blinds which is all that matters in cash.
