Yeah, quite a few hands in the clinic, there's a few common threads amongst them all. That's been really helpful this week.
I've changed my game slightly in the last couple of days, and it seems to work out quite well but it is very early days. One thing i probably do, is play to many hands.
Today, played cash and won. Played HU Turbo games, lost my first 4 in a row! Then went on a bit of a roll.
Played some more cash, managed to get it all in on the flop with the nut straight against 2 other opponents. Flush draw and 2 pair. Flush hut on river!
Only just seen a PM u sent me 3 weeks ago Henrik. No idea how I missed that, normally get email notifications. Have replied now anyway. UL in the hand ^^^^. Nice bet sizing tho, wp. Posted by DOHHHHHHH

Basically your overall stats are skewed by like 20 odd games you played in 2011, but since you properly started grinding HU your stats are good- and from personal experience i find you tougher than most of the players i find at £5.25 so once your rolled defo try and move up as the games are still v-soft at 2s
Played for an hour tonight, cash, was up to £10 on both tables, then lost a couple of pots, but still 2 good wins. The biggest hands are below, last hand where I lost is a really interesting one. It's really hard to fold river, especially once i've hut my 2 pair. We can put him on the flopped flush, but it's hard!
This is quite an interesting hand, and i think i made a mistake on the river, i missed out on value. After the donk pot bet on the flop, on the turn my gut instinct was i was good here, and why i bet half pot, i think it's a mistake not jamming the river.
It's really unusual, i never really seen a donk pot bet before at this level. At first i was serioussly thinking about folding, esp with the caller behind. But, there was something about the player who raised, so i called. It was a really strange line.
When it goes check check on the turn, i put in a half pot bet for value. Call, fold.
Cant really put opponent on AK due to pre flop action.
When it's checked again on river it does look like K x, possibly j or 10, 2 pair/ set is getting bet here.
I thought for a second, and decided there was enough in the middle instead of jamming. I think i missed out on heeps of value.
I see donk pot bets often at 4nl, these people are so exploitable as they dont even know normal convention is to check to the pf raiser, even some of the supposedly good regs do it.
Checking behind the river isnt terrible, you only have one pair after all. But I would generally bet there even though they have been the aggrressor the whole way. If they are sure they have the best hand (if they had a set for example) they would not suddenly go for a river check raise, they would lead out for a 3rd street.
They may possibly check to induce a bluff if a flush draw bricked, hoping you were chasing and missed, but I doubt they are that advanced.
In Response to Re: Another Diary, A Journey : I minraised, because i am playing the hand even though K9 isn't the best of starting hands, when i'm raised, i'm gonna call, for such a small raise. I'm raising the flop because i want to get the chips in, or a fold either way i'm happy. Posted by LARSON7
The bolded bits aren't good enough reasons to put money in the pot
If you raise flop why are you happy when he folds? Do you think he folds better?
Alright larson......just read a post in the clinic (09/05/13) where you lost a 50+ quid pot playing 30nl. Whats going on m8, I'm a bit confused. Been reading this diary for ages, you withdrew all but 50 but then you played 30nl??

Hey Waller, it's a historic hand from a couple of months ago. Basically i searched my highest losing pots, and that was numero uno lol. I sat down at the table with £15/£16, and doubled up thanks to the same opponent in that hand. Then that happened lol and i left the table right away.
Sorry, I didn't get your text last night till hours after you'd sent it. I'm free tonight from like 7pm - midnight, so you can post here or on my diary to let me know, or just PM/text me.
Just played for 30 mins tonight, managed to hit quad 10s, then 2 hands later i had this hand against same opponent, call or raise? Tried 5 tabling for the first time tonight! It was actually not to bad to handle, had a bit of overlap on tables, but was able to click between tables. Might give 6 a go tomorrow! And i never used to think it was possible 2 have more than 4 lol
I was out tonight, so sky plussed some of the show.
First hand it's got brand new graphics on the screen?
To me it looks to bright, and there's to much going on. Look's like an attempt to replicate something from pokerstars. I liked the old way, nice and simple!
Wonder what everyone else thinks of the new graphics.

This week on cash, i've won pretty much every day apart from one when i went and played at 10nl, and master cash 10nl. I broke even at normal 10nl, and lost at master cash 10nl.
It was really daft even being on that table given my bankroll! I'll not be doing that again in a hurry!
The biggest hand i lost was really badly played.
It was against benc, I had pocket 4s, Ben's raised it, i'm in position so call. Flop came down Q xx. Ben bet, and a good amount of the time 4s would still be good here. I called, turn x, Ben checks i bet, and Ben calls. I was thinking 4s might be good here. On the river Ben checks and i stuck in a stupid half pot bet that was snapped off. I should have just checked given up on the river.
I played today for 30 mins, 5 tables ended up being a buyin up, had the one bad beat (hand below)
Really pleased with how it is going, i'm at a stage now where i've cut a lot of the bad stuff out of my game. Tilt is becoming less of an issue, but no doubt is still there!
If anyplayer that plays the lower stakes ever wants to have look over hands let me know. Or indeed any player that plays higher up wants to look over some hands it would be appreciated. Send me a message or post on here.
Cheers:D
I'm going to give 6 tables a go tonight, if i've not been drinking.
Going out for dinner, don't know if im driving or not yet lol

First rule of cash poker- never bluff a calling station. Good to hear your positive about how its going atm- message me on skype whenever if there is any hands you want another opinion on.

2nd rule if you think you have showdown value in spots like this, don't bet. If your 4s can be good then check behind, betting is obv never gonna get called by worse.
After reading a couple of posts by others. i'm going to start keeping better records of profit/ loss which down the line will tell a story of its own.
As of today. i'm also going to playing quite a lot of HU Turbo games. I am going to play 1000 over how long it takes to play these. After 1000 games i am hoping to have a win rate of 7-10% over this sample. I'll nicely ask someone who knows how to use sharkscope to keep an eye on this for me, maybe once a week and i'll keep a rough paper record. Tho it's hard because they go in so fast.
I'm going to multi-tabling when playing cash, so it will be 2p-4p for the time being. I don't have enough of a bankroll, to multi-table 10nl, as 1 bad session would really set me back. Once i get to a certain level, i will start multi-tabling 10nl. The problem with just playing 1-2 tables is it is so slow! I get bored and start calling with weak hands for something to do.
So 4nl for the time being.
With the turbo games, once i have reached £20 profit, i might give the £2 ones a go. I'm starting out with the £1 Turbos.
If anyone want's some turbo games let me know on here or send me a pm. I'm happy to play anyone.
Can't believe you got paid off with the 5s in that pot, nl4 looks fun on a friday night lol good luck with grinding the turbos be prepared for some big swings either way over a 1000 games, have no doubt you will turn a good profit if you don't get too many brutal spells.
lol between 12-1, i stacked 4 people shoving the likes of 10/6 offsuit j 7. Must ust have been in from the pub haha
The 5s hand, i had just bluffed same opponent a belter before this hand so that was on his mind. I was thinking if hes paying off a pot size bet, hes paying off a shove.

On the turn, I don't want to lose my customer and i have position, so really like the check. I'm not thinking he's that strong at all.
On the river, i'm loving the bet, maybe reraised it a bit 2 much, but just glad to get the call!
I'll respond just now.

Poker is a funny game! Honestly.
Earlier i lost £10 over an hour, then the next hour i won over £20.
