Welcome back to forum diary land Ian. I'm very happy to pass the the Exmouth baton ever to you for it's next lap
That's an excellent start, very consistant gains so far. As for the initial £200 target; it's a case of when, not if, in my opinion. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Gary.
making mistakes but br is moving forwards, so i'll take that all say long could be a long slow lap
played 2xnl4 tonight for an hour or more, as I fancied the table. I know I said I wouldn't multi-table but I'm happy with playing 2. yes 2 might lead to 3-4 I know that, but I'm hoping not ha ha.
anyway, happy with another win, felt I played really well tonight even though I've only £3.65 winnings. played more aggressively and my pre-flop raising was better and also my post flop betting too, I think. got 1 hand to post up for you... just to show I don't always fold when facing bet bet bet lol I had opponent on ak pre-flop, so went with it. ( yes, I've got good notes on him got it right this time... phew. night all
2xnl4 very up and down £6.50 up & £5.50 down at different times, so not too unhappy with end result. lost 1 big hand with trip qqq's v flush & f/h, which didn't help. anyway played as you should I guess pretty aggro and I'm sure the correct way long term, especially at the higher levels which I'm hoping will come in time. lol almost a 5 hour session, so all in all, good fun and no complaints. not sure if I'd like it this way every session being so up & down I mean, but if that's how it is going to be, then i'll just have to get used to it, especially the winning & losing of sessions, which I'm sure would be the pattern to come. hopefully will get back to normality tomorrow and put in a solid performance
just wrote up todays events and lost connection... so here we go again.
cash l £13.01 br £26.05
1st losing session since I started so kind of guessed it was coming. lost 2 big all-ins with 77 on 997 flop... opponent had 99 lol and AA to run run flush.
so I know it looks bad on paper, but it was more through bad running than bad play... I think. anyway, it's over now so have to forget it, and move on. still got 6.5 buy-ins to play with, so no need to panic...just yet!!!
1xnl4 couldn't resist a little session after losing earlier today, could I. glad I played as won some back, so feeling better now going to try and stick to playing just the 1 table for now, if only to try and keep things under control for a while. I know you can't control the cards and 'what will be will be' but whilst I'm still in the early stages of this challenge, I'm taking the better safe than sorry route. anyway, all for now back tomorrow no doubt run good, dev
Nice work devonfish. Consistency is key . I,ve been dabbling with 2p/4p myself as i think its a good way to learn how to multi-table - just keep adding a table once you get used to the tables your currently playing

Ive messed about on 4nl myself mate and i would say just keep it tight and bet your strong hands like there is no tomorrow and you will do great. Posted by Diminuendo
thanks Diminuendo,
yeah agree tight is right with a bit of rubbish thrown in for good measure. he he let's see what's in store today shall we. cheers mate, dev
god to see things are moving forward. keep it going mate. as for the hands posted above, hand 1. ouch hand 2. I hope you search for this player before sitting down I know I would be. good luck mate Posted by TINTIN
thanks tintin,
yeah, horrible session that, losing is never great but at least it was from the bad run of cards and nor bad play by me...this time lol yeah, got the guys name so I'm sure we will meet again sometime. best wishes mate, dev
only loaded 2nd table up for 1/2 hr as I saw value, but no joy there today, still plenty of other days anyway, managed to dig out a small win, from a pretty card dead session really, so v happy. br hits the £40 mark, for the 1st time , so happy with that.
out for a meal with the family now as it's my brothers b'day tomorrow. might be back later for a small session, see how I feel. all for now, gl all dev
thought I'd give the late show a go, nearly wished I hadn't losing AA v AQ to QXX X Q one hand all in. lost count of the other cr*p that beat me. anyway, all came good in the end, so happy days, with the help of hand below. once br gets to £50 i'll be quietly confident of reaching my target of £200 he he.
up early.... needed a poo... done cat needed feeding... done cup or tea & biscuits...done heads full of ideas...thought of stage 2 of my bankroll building plan... done, written up on page 1. brothers birthday.. of no real interest to anyone
anyway, that's all for now. still got a long way to go here but at least it's going well atm, so happy I am finally getting somewhere with my cash effort so far this year, even though it's only a small profit and pretty meaningless atm, it's a massive step for me on what I hope will be a big cash year to come. my plan is fully in place now and now I've got the next step, ie; nl10 sorted in my mind, it's now just the simple task of carrying it all out |edit.. as for stage 3 ? 'we'll have to wait 'n' see!!! have a good day all, be lucky dev
Well done on getting this far and I like your plan for stage 2. It gives you a set plan and a buffer to stop any tilting or not playing optimally when you feel under pressure.

thanks Craig,
yeah, last time playing nl10 was a nightmare. apart from not only not knowing what I was doing I was multi-tabling too, which only meant I was making even more mistakes and basically handing out money.(not saying I'm much better now mind, but at least I'm only playing the 1 table). still at least it was good practise for when I get there again this time.

lol - Loving the detail in your diary
As for NL10 i,d leave it for a good while yet. I,d perhaps conentrate on adding more tables at NL4
Personally i think you,d make more that way than 1 table at Nl10. Just been reading Tintins posts to you in his diary and totally agree on the rarity of 4 bets unless its with premium hands. I,ve found this level really nitty on the whole
I started with a £40 roll on my diary and although i was playing low stake DYMs and low stake tourneys it was predominantly NL4 that boosted it for a while

yeah, always the perfectionist lol not going to attempt nl10 again until br reaches £200 so a long way off atm. interesting you think I'd make more money by adding more nl4 tables than playing just 1 nl10 table. anyway, that's all for the future, at the moment it's 'slowly slowly holy moly. he he
just had the session from hell, £9 down at one point but clawed most back, so happy with only a small loss in the end br still in the £40's so no worries. played 2 tables as Mr valuetown was playing but of course he took me to the cleaners didn't he, playing his usual crummy game. he he. still there will be other days wont there... I hope. anyway, all for now, not sure if i'll be playing tonight, see how I feel. gl all, dev
just came back for a quickie at 10pm ... long story short down £10 or so couldn't go to bed like that , got it back to -£2.50 bed at 3.30 am. not good I know but i'll take it. very up & down session.. again. don't know if I'm playing at my most optimum atm.. results would suggest not. played a lot looser game than normal, which I think , may be the way forwards long term.(judging by some of the rubbish hands that were winning tonight. ex; my AA v 63 my AA v AJ suited hit flush on river, 2 big allins. made a bad call holding 10 10 and got carried away with them ,losing a buy-in to AA but apart from that reasonably happy how I played. anyway, see what comes today, will it be my old 'tight is right' strategy, or will I continue playing loose and care free and see how that goes? anyway, that's all for now, gl all dev edit, just looking through hh, yes, I had my fair bit of luck on some hands too, so I can't complain too much about those losing hands I've mentioned earlier. but they did seem a little cruel att
