Brief update. Work is going well although I do get very tired towards the end of the week, I feel sure that my health will improve as time goes on. Having worked in the office for the past 18 months it was bound to be difficult returning to manual labour on the shop floor.
Poker has been going ok lately., I had the good? Fortune to be on the final table of a bounty hunter last night with none other than Matt Bates, it was a pleasure to see how the great man plays, he totally dominated the table and when we were heads up he had slightly more chips than me...about 10 times as I recall, my A4 was no match for his ATC call and I feel privileged to be the recipient of his gg in the chat box :)
Reading Markycash diary at present, seems a really decent chap and has breathed new life into the forum, also gave me a chance to reminisce the good old days :)

Right, I need a Radox bath ( other muscle ache aids are available)
Be good all, have fun x

So whose bright idea was it to put a mirror directly opposite the bath....and why do I get the urge to look in it whilst drying my body after aforementioned bath..my newly acquired breasts jiggle when I do so. I feel your pain Jon.

By "popular" demand :) health wise I am feeling much better this week, I had an injection in my hip area which seems to be doing the trick, I don't get 24 hour pain in my leg and hip, positives-I am taking less tablets, negatives - I snapped at my wife yesterday, I think it was down to not being as doped up as normal, that or the fact when I dropped her and the daughter off at supermarket pre taking dear daughter to work , my good lady asked me to move the car fron the disabled space ( there were about 20 empty ones) 3 times ! I said ok after the 2nd request....
Boss at work asked me to pick him up after he dropped the work van at a garage in Halland, could have been Holland for all I know about the surrounding area, I explained I have only just stopped using my sat nav to get to work after 3 weeks, he drew me a map to the place ( which is 2 minutes up the road from my last employer )
Poker going good at mo, I withdrew £200 last week, and won the £100 Gtd. PL08 last night, ( you did ask ;)

Alex kindly made dinner this evening, Spaghetti Bolognese ( cannot bring myself to shorten the words) he added chilli....I gave him some pointers for next time.
We need help in finding relatively inexpensive places to eat in Vegas, I will do some research, but any pointers will be gratefully received .
Have fun all, be safe and good luck. X

Guess he was out for the evening ;) paranoia or variance ?
As mentioned previously., I feel my health improving slightly, my mojo is returning, small steps..
The new vacuum cleaner arrived yesterday, my good lady insists its better than the " old" cordless we have, I don't like the noise it makes, doesn't sound like a hoover at all, more like a toy helicopter, wonder what the wife will say if I test whether it flies..
For those few who have the perception there is a doom switch when you withdraw, I made a little profit today ;) finished 5th in the mini bounty hunter, I even won an all in sat to the £33 Bounty Hunter, having said that there was summat amiss as my PC decided to update Windows 10 whilst I was running well in the £1k Gtd B/H.. Took 4 hours, meanwhile I tried to play on iPad , of course that's not great when I am in 4 tournaments :(
Son suggested using my good ladies laptop- why didn't I think of that?
It wasn't great, I couldn't resize the tables, I was getting just a smidgen stressed ( not like me nowadays) but alls well that ends well.
Be good all, have fun. X

Driving home from work today I started to think back about my "journey" ( see what I did there)
My life has changed so much, not just the job..which has been a massive confidence boost, family relationships are great.., makes me wonder if this is what I needed in my life, strange really.
I was upset at seeing a post on fb the other day, a very good friend who I grew up with ( younger than me) sadly passed away, I began to think all kinds of worrying stuff, I mean ...I am 60 years old, don't feel it mind, but you can't turn back the clock and it keeps ticking away.
Going to Milton Keynes to have a meet up with some of the chaps and chapesses for a poker weekend was one of the highlights , to be honest I was a little bit in awe of the guys before I met them, I was a tad insecure being out of the house and having not met them before, knowing them a little better through various forums I would love to do another meet up, this year may be out of the question due to holiday and work commitments but things may change, you never know what life throws at you.
The house move was another positive, we are gradually making a home, I love it ,as does the good lady., I even like the weekend cleaning regime :)
Last word has to go to my dear wife, along with my children she has made my life full of joy in really testing times, as a wise man said, "When one door closes another one opens, and things happen for a reason "
Thank you to all that have posted, you keep my spirits high., and I love being treated as a normal chap, which is what I am, apart from being awesome of course :)
    Be good, be happy.x

I bet not many people say going to Milton Keynes was the highlight of anything ;)

It was an absolute pleasure, and I'm glad we had a house where we could hang out before doing our collective bo111ocks down the casino.

I'm sure another weekend can be arranged, but I'll need plenty of notice as I sometimes find myself on holiday :)

    Great post.

Here's an interesting thing, well to me anyway. I often see rather un complimentary posts about how people play and at what level they are perceived to be, the term " fish" is bandied about quite regular.
Ok, so I have viewed pro's play on the highest stage, I have seen first hand at the highest stake tournament, let's consider a mere small stakes player like myself for instance with the same 2 cards, say 89 suited.,in early stages of a tournament. we are in cut off and raise, get 2 callers in the blinds, flop comes 7 10 K, the SB bets half pot, bb calls, out of the 3 options we have we decide to call, turn is a 2 , same thing happens, SB bets half pot, bb calls, are we calling? We decide to call. River is the bingo card, 6. SB goes all in with his K 10. When we call and put him out we get vilified for being a " fish"
Now, is he justified in his statement? Should he have priced us out earlier? If a pro played this hand this way with the same result, would he be vilified, or have a pat on the back for great play....
Poker is such a wonderful game, with many factors to consider, I take my hat off to those who play regular and make it pay, I have learned over the years to accept bad beats, bad play, good play, etc etc, sure it annoys sometimes, mostly when the villain gets uppity in chat box and says ridiculous things like site is rigged and so on, but to accuse my play of being " fishy" is a tad too far, I have a plan before I bet, for the turn and for the river, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, not all players I am pretty sure have a plan, which is one of the topics I find interesting.
    Be good all, have fun.x

It isn't what you do it is why.
And the other players cannot know if you were level 1 fishing or level 4 floating.
Hence derogatory comments about your play are useful to make you check your reasoning, but at the end of the day they are totally irrelevant.

Hi Sean, I am doing ok at present thanks, hope you are well.I am finding it increasingly difficult to chat at the tables though, I don't know why to be honest, am still playing the same games, perhaps I am taking longer than my standard 2 seconds to decide which action to take on the 4 tournaments I play simultaneously ;)

It's coming to that time of the year again when I have my blood test and oncology appointment with the consultant, once again doubt creeps into my mind, I feel my " old" calmness diminishing somewhat on day to day issues, perhaps I am returning to normal, which in itself is a tad scary ;)
I don't think everyone gets my sense of humour, I posted a ( what I thought at the time) jocular comment on a Facebook thread which my sister had posted of her and " the girls" out on the town, my sister took it in the spirit intended, but others didn't and once again I was berated, calling me jealous ( huh) and much worse. I guess the written word isn't my strong point, so bu..er em.
Am doing ok on the poker front, going deep in some tournaments but not quite taking them down, ah well my time will come...soon :)
Be good, be happy, have fun.x

I must post more often, I forget stuff that happens. I went to hospital for a check up on my " downstairs" stuff ( not the hoovering) he has taken me off one of my tablets as I said that I was still getting up at night 3 or 4 times to empty my bladder, not too great when I get up at 5.45 ( especially Dtd nights) good result this week btw, finished top of the league - I'm great me ;), anyway back to topic - I asked what did the tablets he had taken me off actually do, he replied they help me empty my bladder...gawd I have been on them since my radiotherapy...I haven't noticed much change yet, early days I suppose.
Poker has been going good lately, managed to withdraw another £100 towards the holiday fund, also won a £5 Omaha hi lo for £55 yesterday, all the more pleasant as one of my opponents berated my play early in the tourney for my raising hand selection, said I would never win anything cos I didn't understand the game :)
Had a lovely day today, partly sad that neither mine or my wife's fathers are no longer with us, my good lady made me a lovely breakfast, did a bit of house cleaning, then retired to the garden in lovely weather to read a book, Tamil hoag this time,
Standard fell asleep , lasted 42 pages mind....
Had a visit from Son No.1 Colin which was nice, Alex has bought me a buy in to a Casino poker tourney  good lady added to it with money for re-buy, we shall prob go in a couple of weeks, dependent how England fare in the Euro's.
My darling daughter write me some lovely words in the card she gave me, brought a lump to my throat, apparently I am a good guy :)
When asked what I would like to do this evening, the answer was easy - Bingo :) went for the earlly session at 6.30 , bought tickets, sat down and was out for 6.40 as my daughter ( who is a member) hadn't taken any I.d. Lol.
Life's great, have fun be good all. X

Son No.2 has had some really bad luck car wise lately. His beloved Bmw gave up on him, then ( with our advice) he bought a cheap car, which lasted 2 weeks... We had a heart to heart with him and he decided to purchase a newer car, we helped out a bit, went car hunting, and after a few hiccups he decided on a Honda Civic. I am really pleased for him., but..in the meantime there was the 2 weeks in which he was without transport, and for a lad of 24 it is a social disaster.
"We" promised to take him to work and pick him up, in truth it was my good lady who had the good fortune to be the one to do so as I start at the same time as he does ( Although I leave half an hour before he gets up)
A couple of times ( last night being one) I have been taxi dad, unfortunately this responsibility fell on nights when I play poker online here, and as luck would have it ( or not) I have been going pretty deep in a few tourneys, but a promise is a promise.
Last night I won a little PL08 tourney, was going ok in the mini, and in a Deepstack which I regged late for as my PC decided to install 174 updates.... Went to pick him up and on my return had blinded out the mini ( cashed though woohoo) and has lost 40k chips in the Deepstack , bubbled FT when my AJ was turned over by A10 aipf.
Had a relatively quiet weekend, my good lady isn't  feeling too good, I am doing my best to look after her. She wanted to go out for some fresh air so we had a drive out to Battle and had a spot of lunch and a walk round the shops which was nice, she started feeling unwell again so we came home early, I made a roast dinner ( surely that's best for her ) and am currently sat on the settee saying alls fine and it will pass.
Hope people come together after the vote, early signs not good.
    Be good all, have fun.x

Went to the Casino Saturday evening, perfect opportunity for Alex to be taxi son in his new car, very nice :)
Entered the Bounty Hunter tournament and was card dead for the first 2 hours, had to sit idly by whilst Alex ( on same table as me) increased his chip stack with some " outrageous " plays like raising 34 on button, mind you a 3 3 10 flop with 2 unbelievers helps. He mixed it up by raising AA on button, big blind also didn't believe Alex had hit the A88 flop....

I finally got a hand - AQ clubs, my stack to blinds ratio meant shove, folded round to dear son Alex who obviously doesn't want to bust his dad does he? He promptly re-shoves with 99....busto.

Been doing ok online though , managed to win dtd3 Monday so withdrew another £100 towards the holiday fund, the state of the £ ( which is about equal with the lira at present) means I will need to win another 500 tournament before October...

Watched Wales beat Belgium, what a great game, shows what you can do as a team playing for each other, so looking forward to the semi final tonight, good luck Wales !

Reading the wsop thread on here, it's great, good luck to all sky qualifiers , and sir Tikay of course.

Really worried about my dear wife at present, she went docs last week and has very high blood pressure. She had today off work as she needs to wear one of them monitor things which checks her blood pressure and records it.
She is going back to docs next week then hospital for e c g.
I really don't know how she has coped with my illness these last couple of years, she is stronger than I that's for sure.

Holiday is almost paid for, really miffed that we didn't get our $ spending money before the result of referendum, was £1 = $1.49 now £1 = $1.29 :(

Booked excursions, swimming with turtles somewhere, Segway somewhere else and Iguana farm and beach somewhere else also ( wife booked them, I pay lots of attention)

Good luck all, be safe. Have fun. X

Best wishes to mrs goodun and have a great holiday.

I am not a health professional, but just curious as to why your wife is having BP taken while at home?

To get an accurate picture of BP, I would have thought she should be wearing the monitoring device during the course of a "normal day"?

It may be I suppose that the GP wishes to rule out the cause of the high BP being the stress of being in a GP surgery and so wants her to be resting?
