Looking back over the last few posts I feel I have become a bit of a whinger, I must start concentrating on the positives again.
Had a lovely day with my good lady yesterday, I'm paying for the long walk in the woods now though, my legs are a tad stiff, let's hope it works its way up
Changed my poker days again to fit in with shopping evening, tried to fit Feidays in but it just doesn't work for me, fin work, dinner, shopping , poker, too much for an old so and so like me.
Played Saturday, made final table of PL08 £100 gtd, I think I played really well til heads up, then my brain seized up, no complaints though..2nd place this time.

sorry tom I did say I was a whinger my very best wishes I send you xx
Thanks for the messages all, I did manage to turn on the PC and reply to your message Donna, Ty.
Been a week of ups n downs, one particular day I was really feeling sorry for myself , I don't know what brings these feelings on, just wish I could take my own advice at times, grant me the serenity etc.
Yesterday was our 28th wedding anniversary, you know when your loved one says " Don't bother buying me anything Tom., we are going on holiday soon and we will be buying each other gifts then"
Well, I think I have learned over the years so....I finished work 15mins early on Friday and bought a lovely bouquet of flowers from the florist ( nope no garage for this kiddy)
Got home and presented them with my usual flourish the good lady was really pleased with them, over the years together it has gradually sunk in what her favourite flowers are, anyway...then she says "would you like to open your presents early?" ....
I'm still getting used to the changed tournament schedule, I seem to be playing more PL08 mtt's as they fall within my strict b/roll outlay, managed to win the £3 £50gtd yesterday, also fin 2nd in a head hunter on Friday night, I may be on for withdrawing a few bob before the holiday in 2 weeks
Pity about the dates for Ukops being when I'm on holiday...and Punta Cana....conspiracy or what
I sure hope you got your dollars a while back Mr Tom.
I think I'll be looking at a UK holday next year if things dont pick up. Mrs P wants a cruise for our 25th Anniversary so it might have to be the Norfolk Broads.

Bit of a sore point in the goodun household , I was advising the good lady to purchase our dollars pre referendum vote ( was £1 = $1.48) now £1=$1.23 ..gutted.
Thoroughly recommend cruising , we enjoy port intensive cruises, but there is plenty to do on the ship ( boat?) if that takes your fancy.
Excellent result the other evening mate, only need another one to purchase said cruise. Gl gl.
Hi Tom, Becoming a bit of a PLO8 BEAST, I see. Well done. When do you head off on holiday? Posted by Tikay10
Hi Mr.K.
Beast more like an aggressive kitten methinks, been doing ok in the PL08 mtt's recently , and really enjoying them. I fin 3rd last night in one of em, also managed to withdraw another £100 towards the holiday so that's the burger at the airport sorted.
We fly out on the 25th of this month - Next Tuesday I think, the good lady is trying desperately to organise all us kids, we have a folder each, with esta's, insurance doc's, receipts for what we have purchased onboard, etc etc.
She asked son no.1 when he was packing, he is working Monday, going to a wedding Saturday, and Thorpe Park Sunday ( or vice versa) I think he wants to pack on the day the taxi is picking us up at 6am....I foresee a little problem arising.
A lovely holiday was had by one and all ( with a couple of hiccups as expected)
Vegas is certainly a special place, my good lady ( who doesn't gamble) absolutely loved it, and said we must come back next year
The only downside was ..you can see the place you are going too, and it doesn't look that far away but omg..walking from the Luxor to the Tropicana is a bit of a trek, even going the "short cut" through Excalibur was a mission, of course it doesn't help that I'm useless at directions and remembering stuff like turn left... One night Alex and I played a tournament in MGM Grand, after we bust out ( some "creative " plays by folk isn't there?) he said he would walk me to the Excalibur as it was simple to get back to Luxor from there, he was staying at Tropicana. I may have been over confident having done that journey only the dozen times in 2 days.
He toddled off back to his hotel, I made my way through the Casino, turned right ( or left I forget) I may have done the same manoeuvres a couple of times cos I kept seeing the same things...I got lost in the Casino.
Luckily enough I had the sense to ask someone directions, everyone is really helpful thank goodness.
Alex and Jamie ( dear daughters boyfriend) only needed to visit a place once and knew the strip inside out.
Went to Freemont Street one evening, absolutely loved it, it's a tad indescribable.
Got back yesterday after a 24 hour journey, went to work today so am a bit tired. Will post more when I'm up to it.
Strange us humans aren't we..After a great time in Vegas, albeit with Alex wanting to fill every waking minute doing stuff, I was really sad to take him to the airport and wave him off, he travelled back home alone and I'm not ashamed to say I shed a tear or two at the airport.
The cruise was lovely, we have been on bigger ships but it suited the purpose, had some fab times on the islands we visited, until we left Barbados for St Lucia ....My darling daughter who is 16 weeks pregnant called us from her room in tears, she was bleeding.
They have a doctor on the ship who organised a hospital visit when we reached port, he said there would be a rep on the island to organise hotel and flight home if needed. We packed our cases and went to the hospital with her.
Needless to say our focus was on our daughters welfare.
She was advised to rest for the remainder of the holiday.
We looked after her the best we could, and on our return home she got an urgent appointment with her midwife, fingers crossed she is ok at present.
So...back to reality, just about finished all the washing.
Played poker a couple of times during the week ( when jet lag wore off) only notable result fin 2nd( again) in PL08 tourney.
Things could be much worse. Steve thoughts are with you.
Thanks goodness I have lost "best diary" title, the pressure was too much
Life stuff just goes on.and on, won't bore you with details, think there's been too much of that from me lately.
Daughter seems to be fine at present, she went for a scan yesterday and was told all looks fine ( apart from placenta being low)
She showed me the scan pics ( you have to pay for them nowadays) they were really clear, they have chosen a name as they know it's a boy, Tommy it isn't
Xmas is just around the corner, seems to be here already according to the many fb posts showing trees up and decorations adorning the ceiling and walls, stop it people......
Been playing poker online a few days as per, even won a PL08 tourney, couldn't brag to the best group of folk as they were away in hotter climates, not even heard of any shenanigans - pretty sure there was a tale or two but it seems what happens in Portugal stays in Portugal hmmm.
Wife is suffering with my man flu at present, I got no sympathy whatsoever , apparently I put " The voice" on ( not the TV prog) which drives her potty.

Hi Tom,
Becoming a bit of a PLO8 BEAST, I see. Well done.
When do you head off on holiday?
Morning Tom,
I'm on catch up here, glad Vegas & the cruise went well, & I hope your Daughter is OK now.
Amazing that, in Vegas, we all have that problem of scale & perspective, everywhere LOOKS so close, but is in fact quite a long way away.
And yes, nobody should miss the chance to go down Fremont Street, it absolutely bursts with energy.
Maybe see you at the tables soon.
