I'll give it one more week to try and get the three players for the Heads Up competition, if not I'll make the draw anyway at 00:01 on Friday 12th Aug. (sooner if we get the three players before then)
At the moment that would mean three people would get a bye.
As we will be starting slightly earlier than the originally stated 1st Sept, I will set a deadline of Friday 9th Sept for first round matches to be played. The following rounds will each have a two week deadline.
Clearly the earlier that matches are played the better, so feel free to arrange fixtures as soon as the draw is made.
In the mean time any assistence to get three more players would be greatly appreciated.
Perhaps people can use the chat box during games to encourage people to enter.
Cheers,
Graham.
P.S If you could cut and paste the following msg in the chat box on your tables (in two parts), that would really help. Many thanks.
Hi all, StayOrGo has started a charity heads up comp if anyone is interested. We need 2 more players. Neil Channing, TK, Ian Simpson, Rich Orford all playing.
Find it on the forum in poker chat, title starts 2016 TLB Charity comp, details on opening post.
Hi all, the opening post has been updated the reflect recent pledges etc. However if you have pledged recently can you please check the spreadsheet below to ensure it is recorded correctly.
Many thanks to all for getting us to a total so far of £3,150!
Graham.
P.S. Message for Aussie, thanks for keeping the Donations Total up to date on the website.
The money that has been pledged from Sponsors, unless stated otherwise (ie for a specific charity), goes into the prize pool for the main TLB charity competition.
However it was suggested to me that perhaps the 1st and 2nd place finishers in the Heads Up competition, should win something for their own chosen charity.
This seems reasonable to me, and as such, if there is no objection, I would like to use £320 from the "Tournament Wins" prize pool to go to the chosen charities of the winner and 2nd in the heads up comp.
Namely: £200 to the winners chosen charity and £120 to the runner up's chosen charity.
Don't worry if you don't have a chosen charity as yet, if you finish 1st or 2nd in the Heads Up competition, you can make your decision then. It just provides a bit of an extra incentive to the people involved.
The reason I have chosen to take it from the "Tournament Wins" pool is that this is most likely to be the largest "pot" of money at the end of 2016.
If anyone has any objections to this, please let me know.
I'm sorry to report another near miss for me last night. Silver medal in the main.
I'm the only player not to rack up any points yet this year and yet I've had two second place finishes in the main. Booooooo. I'm sorry guys. I'm tryin to get us some more money in the pot!!

Still a great result Natalie, well done! I'm sure you will break through soon.
I know I'm not a comptetitor but I'd like to pledge an additional £10 to the pot as I was lucky enough to do well in the £55 speedy last night (only prob because Geldy is off on holiday lol).
(Also wanted to bump the thread as it slipped down a bit in the pages )

Hi Rose, congrats on winning the speed.
Thank you once again for your open handed generosity.
That takes your total pledges to £130, is that OK?
It really is very kind of you indeed.
Cheers,
G
P.S. Note for Aussie, this increases the sponsor donations from £1,210 to £1,220, which when added to the current Competitor donations brings the total to £3,280. I will update the spreadsheets on the opening post shortly.
In Response to Re: 2016 TLB CHARITY THREAD. £3,210 PLEDGED. MANY THANKS! IF YOU HAVE MADE A RECENT PLEDGE COULD YOU PLEASE CHECK IT IS RECORDED CORRECTLY ON THE SPREADSHEET. TY : Well done Natalie Posted by MAXALLY
Regarding the "Tournament Wins" comp, should this count as 10pts like the main events, or 2pts like the £55BH, or should we not count this one, as perhaps it's too select a field.
With a new schedule coming out, it may be necessary to re-vamp the points system for the tournament wins comp soon. However, for now, all we know is that there will be a "Sky High" Roller on Tuesday's at 9pm.
Still awaiting feedback from competitors as to what points, if any, the Sky High Roller should carry.

Hi Graham,
As you say there may be a need for a re-vamp based on the new schedule. In terms of runners the new High Roller seems more akin to the 9pm BH than a main event. Cash value to the winner is maybe 3x the value of the 9pm however.
If you want to include it, I'd suggest 5 points to reflect the above. However, there's an argument not to include it at all rather than change things at this point. I'd probably favour the latter given we are nearly three quarters of the way through the year and revisit for next year.

Hi Matt, yes I think you make a good point.
Unless people feel strongly against, I propose, as Matt suggested, that we leave it as it is, for this year, and take a look at the new MTT schedule etc, wih view to amending in 2017. So, for now, it won't count towards Tournament Wins points.

The figures now are:
"Competitor" Donations: £1,940
FOSP "Sponsor" Donations: £1,210
Now the heads up competition has started the FOSP donations will probably be static again for a while. Many thanks.
ps. adam won something the other night. he's good, you know.
The spreadsheets on the opening post have been updated to reflect the latest TLB2016 league standings.
All to play for as we approach 2/3rd's of the way through the year.
GL all!
Last years total raised was £4,188, so it will be tough to beat that, but £3,300 is an excellent total and will help many worthwhile charities.
The opening post spreadsheets have been updated with the latest standings.
Thanks again to all involved!
Cheers,
G
