    I have accurately once played in a pub and never again would I,Husband and myself were on holiday in the uk never felt so uncomfortable being laughed at because I could not deal the cards without the male players on my table telling me of because I had no idea at the time they could see what I was dealing,they were rude and did not even give me a chance to tell them I had only ever played on line (:(:(: one bad experience so one post about a bottom means nothing to me to the abuse I went through (:(:(: just carry on guys you sure no how to humiliate a girl playing poker for the first time in a pub (:(:(

    Undoubtably its not 'you told', given an attitude like yours takes time to develop, I am certain you have ignored 'being told' before.

    But of course you can hide your clearly mysoginistic views behind the 'banter' curtain, it seems lately this tactic is being employed across many subjects and by many people.

    I wonder would you feel the same if you were the minority putting up with this kind of 'banter'. 

    People like you are at the very heart of the problem we have encouraging women to play, why don't you stick to The Rail, at least then I don't feel the need to read your drivel.

    I feel for you Paige, first time I played live it was a self deal in a casino and I was as nervous as a kitten, I can only imagine how much harder it must have been as a lone female. 
    The problem is that what others think is banter is more than likely very hurtful and intimidating to the person on the receiving end. 
    That was the gist of pingus post and the reason I +1ed markys post.

    I was replying to Chillings post re would we take our spouse to the casino, if read closely I replied they came with me not I took them, hence it being a family outing and not the man being in charge of proceedings.
    I do feel for you regarding your terrible experiance in the pub, the reason I didn't reply re pub is because I no longer go into pubs for a night out, we may go for a meal in the afternoon so I have little experiance in the last 10 years or so.
    I must add that you may like to read Goldons posts for the content in them, every single one seems to be detrimental to women, as Hendrick pointed out he hides under the banner of banter, if said out in the real world I would be surprised if he didn't get either a mouthful of abuse back or a good hiding. 
    I don't condone violence of any kind, when a man is stuck in the 60's though he deserves some sort of backlash to his outdated views on the female of the species.

    you are a shining light on this forum and i love you for it but...
    if you think goldon is being bullied sadly your wrong , his views are a throwback to the 1970s and people move on what he considers as banter does not work anymore and most blokes think its cringeworthy and a real put down to women in general and should not be tolerated thats why he is getting the response it deserves . i suppose he is stuck in his ways and thinks its ok to say what he says *see the hotpants reply* but its not and he,s wrong , it makes blokes like me look up to the sky or ceiling and think whats wrong with people

    What some people need to realise is goldon has basically lost his wife.You need to think about that for a moment.If yours suddenly wasnt there anymore ,your mindset might change.When you are older i guess it hits you harder.We get ill , but most of us recover.There doesnt seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel for him.I guess goldon looks forward to a wind up, or interactions.Its no skin off his nose.If i dont like whats on the tv, i turn it over or off.I dont sit here screaming at the screen.

    I am really sorry to hear about Goldon personal situation. Its awful.

    But lets get things right and in perspective.

    Personally me and my family have being going through hell the last 5 months but I haven’t come on the forum posting sexiest and misogynistic nonsense .

    Its not banter or whatever you want to call it .

    Look around the forum there are plenty of good things to comment on without resorting to the posts that have been put up.

    Toms Diary is a prime example of how to deal with what the world can throw at us.

    We have had great tributes to much loved players on the site like Ice Tiger and Sir Gary and for regular forum readers its hard to listen and not comment on things that people have strong feelings about 

    As for the bulling accusations , sorry but that’s nonsense. You can’t expect people to not reply to such ridiculous posts.
