yet again i've had a great looking chance in the MTT, then came a limped pot with me in BB and what happens i loose my stack against a better kicker.

fold preflop, Ch/R or min bet. never call all the streets with hands in limped pots.

limpers they do min bets for all sorts of reasons.
1. they can be to discuise the strong hands
2. just to stop you winning it from BB
3. build a pot with the draw.

i pulled a bluff the other day against a limper.
today i had two limped pots both played in totally different manners and they both saw a totally different route.

this one i decided to Ch/MR and he calls, the important thing about the min raise is i loose very little so if he shoved i will not loose much when i fold, i also only put a small bit in on the turn as it might make it look weak and i will just fold.

the important thing was i control the pot size and am punishing him for limping, this is what i think is best with all weak hands or draws. maybe the middle pairs just give up or do min bets yourself but with flush draws and straight draws+ overs you might be best to mid raise

the hand i lost was because i did call it all the way.
limpers are not likely to ship flush draws, limpers are not likely to shove weak kicker TP and limpers don't want the hero to fold and their is a much greater odds of them doing a min raise.
so with your strong hand which can be destroyed by an even more dominant one i think you should do a min open bet on every street to make it look like a weak hand
had i did a min open bet he will still call Ax but the the chance of him raising large with Jx is low. i might still loose my whole stack but the chances will be much slimmer now that they were by calling every street and the problem Ch/R is he will shove his strong hand most days leaving us in an awful spot.

Hope you TPTers run golden tonight.  I seem to be having a funny week again - can't hit a thing on Sky but cashing on Strs - but I much prefer the Sky games and the banter.  I've also had a mixed bag in the live game scene - couldn't do a thing right on Tuesday for a live BH game (which is my fav type of game) yet I managed to last to final 4 in a live deepy freezeout on Thursday.   Would have been happy to keep playing in that one but the other 3 wanted to do a 4 way equal split so a very nice £445 each for our trouble.

Looking forward to the Orfy tonight - go go go TPTTTTTTTTTTTTT xxxx

Disappointing night in all the main MTTs tonight.  Was mainly playing ok, if a bit aggressive, but got rivered more times than I can remember.  Happens.

Night saved again by P*nto satellite - starting to enjoy these.  Tempted to play the semi on Sunday night, but no idea what I'd do if I somehow ended up with a seat on the plane...

today i got off to another good start in the main, unlike yesterday i went out before the bubble, unlike yesterday i accepted this exit with ease. i still had the mega stack, the mini and the orford league going at the time.

the mega and mini we not successes but the orford league was good, i finished 3rd.

WELL DONE everyone on some nice cashes. I missed last night coz it was my eldest daughter's  18th birthday. PROPER night !!!!!! and on it all weekend coz its my Wedding Anniversary Sunday, but managed to sneak the MEGA in tonight having missed out on Main Sats and last couple of All-ins.

Had some fantastic banter all night with  a fellow golfer and then a table full of TPTers........

Neil(HENDRIK). Ryan(WALLER), and pdavo, was good fun and what this game is all about, and even managed to small cash too.....(even though I thought I'd bubbled). Went for GOLD against another big chip stack with 10,9spades when I hit a 10 on flop.....he had JJ.....oh well was fun whilst enjoying a few VODIZZZZZ's and was just about to find TREV when he went out too....but WELL DONE CAPTAIN....nice result

What should I do as a micro-stakes player?

Just satted in to $215 BI, WCOOP-43, $1M GTD, for $1.65 + £1.50 add-on.

Out of 174 starters, 1105 re-buys, 94 add-ons, 9 qualified, 10th got $124.50

Should I de-reg and take the money (or tourney tokens on PS I think?)

Or should I just go for the $193,500 1st prize?

Not sure on that one RED....I would always play the tourney coz if u run well, surely you are going to win more than $215. But it all depends on how much the money is wanted or needed. Obviously it will give you a lot more entries for the future....but how often will you get the opportunity to play in such a big tournament with great Prize Money? If I compare it to the UKPC on SKY POKER....I would always play the tourney (unless it's a REBUY tourney and you have to spend $215 to REBUY or ADD-ON as you are then at a disadvantage) coz the opportunity to earn more is greater, and it will be a great experience too and after all isnt that why you entered the tourney in the 1st place? Hope this helps and I'm sure the more experienced players will give you more and probably better advice.

That being said i think it was Ivan who said that if it's well above your usual Bankroll you should take the cash and use it to fund your usual games.

When I late reg'd for the sat, only 24 players were in it, but late reg was 120mins.

Yes the B/I could fund around 100x$2 B/I's, but at what prize opportunity, <$215?

If I decide to play and run as well as the sat, then a min cash is huge.

Just checked the lobby, 10k D/S 20min blinds, so far 54 get paid $5k minimum.

There are already 6 PS pros reg'd, including Elky & Vicky Coren.

Nothing ventured etc,etc, still got until 4pm tomorrow to decide.

Well the bad beats continue. Just missed a cash in the 7-15 Deepie when my AQ was beaten by AJ, but that pales into insignificance after what Rose went through in the Punta Cana Sat. A horrendous bad beat by the CL who had half the chips in the game and shouldn't even be playing a hand but insisted on playing nearly every hand going. Cracking Roses' AA with 2nd pair on the flop and a 4 kicker, calling her allin then spiking another Q was a shocker. Probably the worse Sat play I've ever seen overall. Felt really sorry for you Rose, you'd played a great game up to then.
