I've gone for it this week. No messing around!

    BMW

    Alex Cejka @ 66/1
    Marcel Siem @ 30/1
Ross Fisher @ 16/1 (win only)

    Travellers

    Padraig Harrington @ 22/1
    Robert Karlsson @ 80/1

    Also did £1 e/w doubles

open championship portfolio - first 2 in are Padraig and the Big Easy, both were on my mind anyway so good showings at the ultra tough Lake Course only enhanced their chances come July in my mind, 40's and 50/1 respectively.

In Response to Re: Get in the Hole! 2012 Season. (BMW + Travellers Championship) Years Profit: -£102.00 : Ho ho ho Father. Worst bit is, she is looking forward to telling my fellow fogies at the Blackpool SPT this weekend how much of an expert she is lol. I limited the damage a bit by this morning declaring that it was only fair that I deducted my losses from her payout. I calculated that if I told her I had spent £200 on the event ( I wish) that would get me a 'look' and a "how much"? And not hurt her 'pay out' too much. Also she wants it in cash, and she's putting it towards  the holiday spend funds. So I guess that's another saving for me. I must remember to ask her who she fancies for the British Open. . . .

phew sufaced too late from my cot to place bets on 1st round leader and no markets available at local bookie chappies. even the fact i printed his name was enough to scud Patrick Cantlay who is plus 4 thru 3!!! bullet most definately dodged.

given at time of writing 3 aussies are co leaders at minus 4 thru 9 each, might have a dabble on another for outright, aaron baddeley who can putt and when turns up can do it all very well, although there is the distinct possibility that this jackel and hyde character can also do it very 'baddeley' bom bom tsh. sorry couldnt resist.

    80/1 e/w BADDELEY  outright

Typical performance from Marcel Siem today. 6 birdies and an eagle, but 4 bogies to finish 4 under and -9 in total. Going to have a decent chance tomorrow as long as Chris Wood doesn't have an awsome back nine and gt to far ahead.

How does e/w doubles work? Do they need to both place top 5 or does it have to be 1 winner and 1 place (Or of course both win)

like any betting medium the win part and place part are seperate.

so if u had 4/1 shot and 12/1 shot 5 e/w double 1/4 odds and the 4/1 shot won but 12/1 shot came 3rd or whatever, then ud have your fiver place part goin on at evs and 3/1 (1/4 odds respectively) but win part would stand for nothing. and in golf youve then the dreaded reality of dead heats for those placing which will cut your winnings to shreads if a large amount tied

    OK Cheers.

Does 1 have to win though, or do they both need to be top 5?

If they both place then the place part of the double wins.

If 1 win and 1 place...then only the place part of the double pays...but obv you would have backed the winner anyway.

If both win, then wow, run better.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I won some decent money on the Spain game tonight, so re-investing some of it on the golf on someone I've tipped a few times and will be a big name one day.

    Seung-Yul NOH £7.50 e/w @ 33/1 (top 4). 4 shots off the lead.

Cheers m8, yeah I realised they both had to win to get the main double, but wasn't sure if one HAD to win and the other place to get the place pot.

UL with Noh. Padraig is going well though, and Karlsson isn't a million miles away either. Could be a great day tomorrow, probs going to end with disappointment though as usual.

Got to take the positives from last week as far as I'm concerned.. 5 picks and 4 of them were in with a chance going into Sunday!

    Irish Open

George Coatzee - Having a great season, and @ 40/1 he is over priced.

Ross Fisher - Been there or there abouts for the last month now. A win is only round the corner - 18/1

    AT&T

Jim Furyk - Obviously played very well at the Olympic club, clearly in form and I think he could make a menz this week. - 16/1

Charley Hoffman - Beginning to show some good form and has been threatening lately. - 66/1 is mainly an E/W shout, but he has the ability to win it.

Yeh good picks last week mate ^^.

I'm in need of a result this week.

    Irish Open

    Francesco Molinari 28/1
    Brandon Grace 35/1

    AT & T

    Ryan Palmer 40/1
    Jason Day 40/1

    4x e/w doubles too.

It's a shame these two events clash for Rory. The AT & T is at Congressional where he won the US Open last year.

Sigh, just found out that his Mrs is expecting a baby within the next two weeks.

She had better hold it in til this event is over, I'd not be best pleased if he had to pull out half way through.

Padraig is now 20-28/1 and Els is 40/1.

Well done on getting in early.

Im going to stick some money on Branden Grace for the Open @ 100/1, in anticipation that he has a good week at the Irish Open this week.

I'm also tempted to back F.Molinari @ 80/1 for the Open.

This week I'm going to have a flutter on the 1st Round Leader market.

The PGA Tour website has stats for 1st Round Leader stroke average, so this is very handy. However I'm unable to find such stats for the European tour so it's going to be a bit more of a stab in the dark.

The 1st Round leader usually comes from the morning tee-times where the players have the best of the greens (assuming the weather stays almost the same throughout the day.)

So using all these factors I'm going to take a stab at the 1st Round leader market.

    AT & T - Chris Stroud £2.50 e/w @ 100/1 - Ranks 12th this season in 1st Round stroke average

Irish open - Marcel Siem £2.50 e/w @ 50/1 - Can be brilliant or blowup. I'll take a punt on him with his early tee time.
