Need to think of something interesting to ask him now.

Handle things the right way, & there's no fuss or bother, eh?

Nothing to see here, as the saying goes.

i think they call it variance
    It sucks

This tourney lark is tough. Dym and it's yeah, whatever, next game.
    Tourney bit tougher to take.
"oh, I see, you called the 4bet with Ace6 off and then open jammed the 6high flop and got there on the river"
"ah, yes. very good. With 6 left in the sat and 3 seats you've called the shove with 10 7 for 1/2 your stack when you could fold to the seat. Excellent, you rivered the 10 v my Ace7"

    Stop sulking Paul
I will proper sulk if anyone says "but Jac, we want them to make these plays long term"

    Another one bust
"good decision to call pre with ace8, call flop with nothing, call turn with nothing, hit ace on river, yep, that sure beats my kings"

I'm certainly taking my beats well tonight!

Mclarens got to go. Off to find new pic

As Tikay kindly pointed out on Friday, I am a bit grumpy.
In all fairness though I don't normally do the boring bad beat stories. I've excelled myself tonight. Won't happen again, honest!

Thought Fridays were supposed to be easy. Got beat up a bit. Dyms went a bit like the tourneys. Must have been getting desperate cuz I moved to 5 tabling cash in the end. Got a bit back :)
Ended up £35 down which isn't the end of the world I guess..

    .....

Sod poker anyway, had a golf lesson tonight and I'm back to being Seve. Planning on destroying the other players in the comp tomorrow and getting back down to single figures. 9.5 at present.

    ......

Btw did I tell you about the hand earlier when I had JJ and shoved for 1400 utg and got called utg+1 with Q7.....
    :)

This is the bit where I feel like a silly Jac35.
Played a few games tonight. Won all the dyms I played. Still plodding along nicely in the tourney I'm playing with a few heads to my name.
    Why silly?
Because tonight I've not played as well but the luck has been with me.
Got it in pre with QQ obv snapped by KK and binked
KJ called by KQ and hit my J

Nicely up over the 2 nights now

This is the game. Last night I ran bad, tonight I've run good. Should be way past the moan about things stage. A bit cringeworthy. Who cares about others bad beats? No-one. When I'm in the casino and I see certain people start making their way towards me, I inwardly groan. "Mate, you'll never believe what he called me with" Yes, actually I will, we've all heard it before.
    .....

I wasn't Seve as it it turned out on the course today. It's coming though.
    ....

Was meant to be drinking tonight. 3 of us. Both blew me out! Can't drink at home, just doesn't feel right.

    ....
Rams still clinging on to automatic dream. Well not really, taking it close though. Think you're safe Mr & Mrs Brom.
    ....
    photo still pending?
  • edited April 2014
Hi m8 - I wondered whether you might think automatic is back on...if we fail to beat Blackpool on Good Friday it could be an interesting run in but I reckon we just about have enough points in the bag.

Hoping we both go up one way or another.

Great idea with the In The Well Jac, didn't realise it was you that suggested it. Interesting to see who they get lined up for the next ITW.

And nice one Maxally for the links to the old ones.

I guess you agree now Paul that it's definitely better to play bad and win than play good and lose :)

    ?????

They was my argument all along Paul. The way I play, I need all the luck I can get!

It's Ivan who prefers to lose his money playing well than win playing bad :)
  • edited April 2014
Ah ok, nevermind, just my dodgy memory. Winning is winning however it comes :)

Last night I was even more confused than normal.

Late on I decided to have a look at the super roller. I saw a great table and thought I'd rail for a while. I watched for around an hour. For that whole period there was a guy on the rail who was abusing Ryan. Some trolls can occasionally make you smile but this was just moronic stuff.

My first thought was that perhaps Ryan had knocked him out and he was still upset. No, he hadn't actually played the roller. This was around 01.00 and the last games he'd played were a few £1.00 games before 10.00.

Just what possesses people to do this?
Some things you can understand a little even when they're wrong. I myself wrote a sarcastic comment in the Chatbox immediately after I'd been knocked out of a comp last week, I regretted it instantly and pm'ed the guy to apologise.

On a football field when I've been caught I've reacted angrily even though I know an opponent has gone for the ball. We can all gave flashes of temper.

This bloke though on a nice Sunday evening decided to rail a game to just throw abuse at someone. He didn't know Ryan and Ryan didn't know him. Ryan stayed classy and didn't react once.
As he said earlier today, he's seen it all before and it doesn't bother him. Many players it would upset though and you could certainly understand if they decided after that that online poker wasn't for them.

I really hope that this does get dealt with. I imagine it will. There was a mod at the table for the majority of the time.
Kleggy shouldn't be allowed to use the Chatbox in the future.
I'm happy to put his name in. This isn't  a situation where there is any doubt. The Chatbox is there for Sky to look at. He's also very welcome to come on here and put forward his reasons for what he did. Two sides to every story and all that.

    Tonight was boring
Just couldn't get anything going in the main or mini. Quite pleased that I did stay disciplined and didn't just spew through frustration. It was never going to happen for me though and I departed early in both.
Seat bubble the sat for the £55 and got £11. Huge improvement on my recent sats.
Won 4 out of 5 Dyms so didn't lose a lot in the end.

The Joey Kinish thing is perhaps getting to me at the moment.

I know that I can continue as I am and win at a steady if unspectacular rate at the Dyms.
I'm craving some bigger games at the moment though where there is a chance to win something sizeable. I'm comfortably rolled to play in the bigger tourneys on here but don't seem to be able to make myself play them.
As I've mentioned before, the gamble has gone in me I think.

You can go a long time without a bink in tourneys and lose plenty playing them. I don't like losing much :)
I've made a few thousand so far thisthis year playing my usual games and so my head tells me to stay where I am.
But.... Still tempted to have a punt one week :)

Volume is an issue for me presently as well. I don't seem to have the time to play much. I'm pretty lazy as well. I kind of set myself an amount I needed to win each month at the start of the year. When I've got there, rather than than pressing on, I've just played bits here and there. This month for example got off to a flyer with the skill and go and I've hardly played since.

    ....

Quite surprised to see an SPT thread in the main poker chat part of the forum. They usually get moved!
Prob best that I don't share my thoughts on the announcement today.

I think that I'm viewed as a bit of a trouble maker at present. Feel a bit sad about that.
I know I'm pretty opinionated about a lot of things. Sometimes I should probably keep my cards closer to my chest so to speak
I do think I'm fairly balanced as well, but I suppose that I would say that. :)

I love playing on here and I love the forum. I want it to work and I want it to be a great place. This is why I get a bit crotchety when obvious trolls come on and post rubbish. I should just leave it to the professionals to sort out rather than post sarcastic remarks and such.

I love the SPTs and have made it fairly obvious that I don't like the way Sky are going about the live events at the moment. I didn't write what I did to shitstir. I wrote it because I wanted to describe how much I enjoyed the experience of playing them last year. Theres a bigger picture that I don't understand I guess. I am sure though, that I'm not alone in being desperately disappointed that we're moving away from the small buy in SPTs. For me, this was what Sky was all about and made it a great place to be. Never having poker friends before, I was thrilled to meet the people off the forum and have a great weekend.

I also grumbled about the PS4 thing. I don't apologise for that. I thought it was handled dreadfully.

There are many many things that are done right though. I was totally wrong when I moaned about the C4Ps changing. We were told that there would be plenty of great promotions that would more than compensate. I thought "don't hold your breath" Oops, got that wrong. There have been tremendous promotions all year and I think Sky have achieved the near impossible by just about suiting all with them.

    ...

I'm thinking it's perhaps time to have a rest from the forum. I've really enjoyed writing on here. It was initially about rambling on about live poker mainly. I don't play live much now. I realise that I'm just really writing about online results and there are plenty of other diaries on here that do it much better.

Good luck all. I'll be back before long, fully recharged and wittering on about rubbish as usual.

    Nice post Jac.
Always read your posts and as always very honest which is always good. No point being a lemming. We all have our own minds.
Happy end to the football season though with a bit o luck. Derby to beat Wigan in the playoff final then all of a sudden everything will be fine again.

    By whom, Paul?

I would be very surprised if anyone thought that.

You are generally "balanced" in what you Post, it's not like you are a high-maintenance moaning monnie.

Get those batteries re-charged, & get back soon, or sooner.

No idea if it's feasible or not, but I wonder if Sky could/would have the usual SPT series running alongside the UKPC stuff. One would assume that the UKPC is gonna be twice yearly, otherwise the merits of having a week/10 day long poker festival would devalue if it cropped up 4 or 5 times a year.

So just run a normal, perhaps slightly reduced, SPT tour to compliment this. 4 or 5 legs. That would satisfy the community on here, of which there are many disappointed people, and also the higher stake players who want a juicy poker line up that the UKPC offers. Could run a leaderboard or something with the SPT legs, and the overall winner binks a UKPC package. Could maybe incorporate the SPT grand final into the UKPC... No reason why the SPT and UKPC can't go hand in hand (from a players perspective, though we aren't privy to everything behind the scenes).

Just seems Sky have all their eggs in the UKPC basket at the moment, with no end in sight.

I will miss the random ramblings.

Paul i can genuinely say that I'm sure I will be far from alone in feeling sad if you decided to call it a day posting.

I agree with the vast majority of what you post i.e your old, grumpy and that you support a $%^$ football team.

I also agree with the fact that by stopping the SPT's sky is moving away from its "grass roots" and risks losing/alienating alot of their most loyal customers.

I also however feel that nobody can influence matters nearly as effectively from the "outside" so come back mate and dont be afraid to speak your mind. Tikay has already said that no one thinks your a trouble maker, so carry on posting and give us all your tuppence worth on what ever pops into your mind.

I'll always remember that hand we played at the SPT

I had aces, flop was something like 2, 78, i bet flop you called, Turn was a 9, and you re raised my turn bet. Which i called, then you bombed the river and i folded aces face up lol That's one of the only times in i have folded a hand face up lol. Then there was the hand, very early doors, where i tried to bluff a guy with trip guys, naturally he called my river bet, and i he wanted to see my cards lol I didn't know the rules whether i had to show or not or ifi could have just mucked, but my cards ended up being turned over anyway for a complete bluff haha

Newcastle was my only ever SPT, the last 1 that was held, hopefully one day they will return. It was great sharing a table with you. I remember at the time thinking wow i'm sharing a table with an SPT winner lol

It was good sharing the table with you.

With the diary, its one of the longest standing ones on here, in my time on the forum.

Defo take a break mate, and start it up when you are ready again.

    How is the family keeping?

Just ticking along with the poker at the moment. Not really playing a great deal.
    ..
Football has started again for us. With the play offs guaranteed for quite a while it's been a bit boring these last few weeks. I guess Brighton were a team we would want. We've beaten them home and away this season but in the play offs you just never know. They try and play football and I think we're better at it than them so hope we get through. Didn't want Wigan. They kicked us off the park at Derby and would gave been tough.
    ..
So disappointed that Liverpool messed up tonight. Particulary to rubbish Crystal Palace (I await your response Eamonn :)
When I was growing up they were everyone's 2nd team even though they won everything. The football they played in the 80's was wonderful to watch and so different from everyone else who pretty much just lumped it up to the big number 9.
Barnes, Rush, Molby, Beardsley etc were fabulous.
    ..
Bought some new sticks. First round I played with them I got back to single figures. I like golf again :)
    ..
    Gonna play a bit now

    Urgh

Pretty lousy night at the tables. It happens.
Looking forward to next months promos. If they go with a 'worst of the worst' at cash, I'm in with a great shout.

Happy Jac from now on (probably)
