First one is from the Loyalty Freeroll last night with 7 left and £50 ftw
I wouldn't normally bluff in a Freeroll obv. but pommy is someone who i respect enough to be able to put me on the three and possibly fold a mid pp. Although when he raises flop again, i read it as a bluff and with the stack sizes i decide that this was the right move! Keeping it simple eh... not... rerebluffaments!
Now, I am not going to lie, the play by here me is absolutley awful... but it worked! This was in the latter stages of the friday night Orfordable 10 seat £3.30 mtt. Like 17 left and 10 pay... Just was card dead and looking for a spot. When people limp in, I like to try to punish in one way or another!
Lol line "stop and go" type thing in the 5.50 £250 gtd. Didn't want to shove pre as I should be behind his range, also didnt want to fold as it was "pretty" so i did this... pretty bad eh?
In Response to Re: Keeping it simple- Road to Brazil 2014. : Lol thanks for your comments mate, your comment sounds a bit wrong tho! I dont think all your players are bad, that Corzola seems to be a good find, and podolski is clearly class. Posted by GREGHOGG
Not sure if I made myself clear hoggers. What I mean even if you look at individual players not one of our current squad would make it into the invincibles team(perhaps a couple on the bench), thats on a quality not spirit basis. Cazorla is a great player but even he has gone missing at times this season. As we speak the team are third, mad considering how bad we have been so far this season.
At my new job, there is an ex poker pro who has kindly given me some of the best poker books out(stuff by slansky etc), I need them to work on my mtt game which seems to have gone to pot this year.
lolz at the 50-times-capped Spanish interntional, twice EURO Championship winner, 2007 Spanish Player Of The Year, £15,000,000 Santi Cazorla being described as "a find".
12th out of 800 odd in the mini UKOPS.. AK couldnt beat a poor call from A10, 10 on river... oh well,, long old slog this... coulda won like 500 quid, only got 30 ish
made a Royal in another mtt... first one for about 2 years
Had a disaster and lost the lot in 2 days (about £200) (Fri and Saturday)
Drunken £11 and £22 HU Hypers being the main culprit... when will I ever learn?
But, on the up side i did build up slowly making £200 in a month from £11 (whilst running pretty rotten in mts), so I will just have to do it again. Not right now though, got a few other things to focus on away from poker...
Including this... Some of you may remember a bulkroll challenge I did last year with Dylan12 (kindly administered by tommyd) well it went well for a couple of months and I lost over a stone and a half. But I have put that back on and another 2 stone on top! So I am currently 21 stone! Which is the heaviest I have been in my life. Something has to be done. I am not going to set any targets this time, other than to try to be alot more healthier. Updates on here as my weight goes down, i hope...
Back to poker, I reloaded and have been treading water for a couple of days.
Current Bankroll £52,00
Cash for points to come from last month £24.00
It's gonna be a long old road but I am not giving up! 2012 was a crazy crazy year... More ups and downs than a tarts knickers... I will go into more details in later posts.
Onwards and upwards in 2013! I wish everyone the best for the new year.
Gl gregg, i have come from a family which is not the smallest but for some reason i have always been skinny/average. I know it is hard loosing weight and i wish you all the best. Mum had to have a gastric bypass to lose her weight and now she looks great. But sadly my sister is going the same way. my dad well hi sjust like your normal dads..... beeeer belly I wish you all the best.

Cheers Shaun, the same happened in my family. I have always been a bit chubby but I have two really skinny sisters. My dad used to be skinny as a young man, but now he has also got a beer belly lol. Thanks for your good wishes mate
This year is going to be all about being moderate and consistant in everything I do. A tough ask for me, but I think I can pull it off this time.
Losing weight is hard, after a food filled Christmas I am also at my heaviest
Could you pass on any weight loss tips you encounter that don't involve too much exercise and still allow for beer consumption!!
As for your BR challenge.....I like your high risk strategy it makes a refreshing change from ones involving strict BRM....I think you will have to find the right balance of taking a risk/BRM to succeed though.....so probs no more drunken hypers

The simple answer to the first point is no Rik!
The beer consumption is an issue for me. I drink far too much, am seriously considering cutting it out totally for a prolonged period.. But that will be really really tough! If anyone can help/advise me in this area please PM me. Exercise is a must I'm afraid.
Ye, there is agro BRM, which i employed successfully, but then plain stupidity. playing the most high variance form of poker with ~ 10 buyins and less! is just really silly. I will not do it again.
I,m sure you,ll grind the money back - Although it was made you anyway and good luck with the slimming
As long as you learn by your mistakes - You cudda won that night and thought nothing of it but you,d have done it again no doubt. I don,t drink as much as i used to but still never play when drunk
Are you just drinking at home with the laptop on then getting silly and losing money or are you out with friends/mates coming back from nights out and instead of going to bed putting the laptop on and losing?
If it's the first then stop drinking at home if its the latter then stay out later until you are completely ready for bed then when you get home you'll fall straight into bed rather than hitting the Sky tables!

Usually the former...
The latter does happen also though....
Cheers for the advice... the thing is some of my best mtt results including a PRIMO win have come when i have been very drunk! I have won mtts sober too, I just can't remember the last time!
Drunken poker ftw! I'm always thinking I shouldn't play after/when drinking. However, it can work as you just go with gut feeling rather than thinking about the implications if you're wrong. Example: walking home! I decided yesterday that I need to lose a few pounds. Good start, just had daddy burger meal and now off for a few pints. Good luck Greg Posted by Jac35
Lol will power is something that alot of people dont have. I guess if we really want to achieve something, we can only do it with will power. Guess i gotta get some, fast!!!

Cheers MP, I would normally agree, but i have a history at losing at hypers, i Just cant beat them.. but i cant stop playing them either when v drunk because i like a gamble...
If there was an option to self exclude hypers only, i might take it!!
The obv solution is to to stop/cut drinking and add the money saved to the Brazil fund/br. You'll be racing Wacko to £1m in no time. Posted by Giant811
Re losing weight cut out all snacks (stop buying crisps cakes biscuits and sweets). Eat 3 meals a day at regular times reduce current portions by 1/3. Sounds hard and will be for a week, but you will lose a stone in 3 weeks if you stick to it. If you feel hungry eat an orange or banana. Keep drinking and playing poker all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. It will work. Be lucky. Daggers.

Thanks for this advice daggers, I have made a good start this week
Have hardly played poker at all, and have played badminton twice and squash once. The squash was redic hard! I am 21 stone at the moment, heaviest I've ever been.
Food wise, have cut out all bad stuff, except brown bread and small amounts of cheese, but as I have been exercising im sure this is ok...
Just gotta keep it going, the poker challenge can wait for a bit, got other priorities atm.
Probably wont play much poker at all in January, will wait till payday, reload properly and start again, I think. Plans might change again, dunno.. Still loads of time to grind a proper roll, my head needs to be right too, need to spend some time watching and reading about poker too.
On a football front, very happy with Spurs atm. QPR next... big game... my prediction, 3 or 4 goals for spurs... away win! Let's goooooooooo
Be careful with the squash Greg, please don't overdo it.
Spurs fans happy with AVB? Posted by Jac35
Funny you should say this... being a complete begginer, i had no idea of the strain it puts on your body. I did not overdo it, as i was learning, but it was great fun... still very tiring.. Someone said to me today at work, that squash should only be played by people who are fit, not trying to get fit... I can understand why, it's very tiring... But ye I wont overdo it, cheers for the advice.
Spurs fans are very much happy with AVB, as far as I am aware, Ive not been to the lane for a while so i cant speak for the fans there, but obviously he has settled in and is doing a very good job. Seems to have everyone singing from the same hymn sheet so to speak... If he can secure us Champs League football this year he will have done his job, and i am very confident atm.
Busy and a bit stressful at work, did a load of exercise outside of work which gave my body a bit of a shock.
So, on Friday, I thought I would mess around with the few quid I had left on Sky, and play a few small mtts and have a cheeky drink... I like the 10 seat format of the Orfordable, It's a nice change and I am able to play my natural game. Solid, patient, but Agro when I have chips. Luckily, I doubled up early, then doubled up again, and was able to maintain a decent stack all game... The result

Very happy indeed. Of course I was very drunk last night. I didn't plan to drink lots, but as I relaxed into the poker, the wine flowed. Oh it flowed...
I railed TommyD on the final table of the main. He got vul to finish 5th as AK couldn't beat AJ. Ironic that someone had posted about the value of AK earlier on another thread! So I thought I would ask him in my drunken stupor if he fancied HU at 20nl cash...
We had a good fun game for over an hour I think, and there were some highlights. I am not a hu cash player, far from it, but it reminded me of the importance of having a huge amount of buyins if i am going to use HU cash as an option to build. I can only improve playing better players though, and Tommy was kind enough to let me "use" him as such lol
