the c4p is the ammount earned from that session.

    did i

    wish i had now...
just had my second worst poker session ever...

    lost £100

    cash b/roll £214.08 (down £99.54)

    lost f/houses to bigger ones
    trip QQ to trip KK
    you name it...i lost it.

i'm going to have to try and finish top 3 or 5 and hopefully might break even.  lol
you never know though it could all turn around again tomorrow,i suppose.
i'm not worried though as all my cash b/roll i have is purely for this cash adventure and if i lose it all i lose it all.
    it's that simple.
i know i can grind it back playing dym,s so no worries.
i always knew playing nl10 could have big swings and today has confirmed it.
i am still enjoying playing cash as it's so diferent to what i'm used to.
i could have played it safe i guess and played nl8 or nl4 but where's the fun in that.

i'll be back later today....so come and find me.  lol
    :)

This post dev, then some one mentioned you should just drp down to 8nl :D

As I said before your going to struggle, NL10 tables are tough atm for this level
Areas of your game need improving, but I ain't going to tell you how to play because that would be silly of me if your going to be at my tables )
When you flop set versus me (QQvAA), do you think you played it ok - it was a winning hand for you but maybe ask yourself them questions.

drop down to nl4, come back to nl10 in Febuary

or stay at nl10 and if you lose your money, get it back via promo and use it as a learning curve

    yeah,got to know when u r beat,i guess,rancid.

"guess i picked the wrong week to give up smoking"

"guess i picked the wrong month to play nl10"  comes to mind.  lol

    nl4 today then...
see how that goes.....probably lose there too.

i'm still happy with all my decisions i've made thouigh, both on the tables and off.
yeah,i'm making mistakes...i knew i would, but i have to live with those decisions, right and wrong.
    losing y'day...no worries.lesson learnt.
    i'll be back.
thanks again for all the help rancid.
    and to everyone else too.

playing nl4 after y'day...had my sensible head on today.  lol

    session 1  lost £7 (9 tables)

    session 2  won £13 (12 tables)

    cash b/roll £220.48 (down £93.14)

deffo easier than nl10 but still struggling to deal with all the bad beats especially on river, not mentally but it does annoy me more than anything.
without that *****  river card i'd have won £50  lol
anyway, back to something like normallity today,at least i didn't lose.  lol

    Hi Dev
yeh it took me quite a while to get to grips with the so called bad beats, 2/4p you could have AA go in big and still get callers with 4-3 off, don't mind, that's what you want, but it does happen 4-b-b-b-3, got you, sick but that's poker. just don't worry about it, just do what you been doing, wait, wait and bang, someone will normally call you, then its down to poker gods.

    Good Luck Dev

    thanks Glen

yeah i know it's optimal play going in with the best hand but that river is a killer.
as i said i would have won £50 or so without all the bad beats, but hey that's poker 4u.

see i'm at 5th in the cash champ challenge.   hoooray.

got rest of the day to play now.not sure if i should risk nl10 again,or stay at nl4 with maybe a bit of nl8 thrown in?
probably the second option atm i think.
not much point finishing say top 3 if i end up losing 2 or 3 hundred is it.
anyway,an hour or so sleep i think then its go go go until late.

    won £28.53

    cash b/roll £248.01  (down £64.61)

    played nl4 10 tables & nl8 2 tables

    5 hrs

nice win tonight, happy with how i played,i think.
not getting carried away though,as i know only to well just how up & down sessions can be,especially the downs.  lol
made some good folds i think, which i'm sure has to be done, even though i don't like doing it.
played pretty aggressive and was raising a lot more than ever and bigger too, which has to be helping my game.
not going to post any hands up tonight as i'll only post them up after a losing session.

    night all

N1 dev good to see a nice winning session.

I was surprised just how different playing cash was to playing mtts.....I found that out the hard way and jumped in at the deep end rather than starting at the bottom and working my way up.

Think you made the right move by moving down to 4 and 8. I remember the advice given to me by others when I had my cash diary on the forum, stick to a level you crush then think about moving up.

Gl in the cash champ promo, I hope you get a nice top 5 finish to reward all your hard work.

yes tbh starting at the bottom has to be the way i guess.if you can't beat the lowest level what chance have you got against the better players, especially long term.

How is this going now Ian?

As a tournament guy I wouldn't dream of commenting on the hands, but I'm keen to get an idea of your results.

At this stage do you see yourself switching to cash permanently? Or returning to the DYMs?

    hi Gary,
    thanks for the post mate.
i haven't been posting as it's just all doom and gloom atm,and people don't want to here me moaning do they.  lol

it's going pretty much as i thought tbh...a struggle.
i have always struggled playing cash, and now is no exception.
my last winning session was last saturday which seems ages ago.

atm i am down £126.09 this month,  which isn't great, but that includes a £100 nl10 losing session some time ago now.
so what do i make from that?
    A,don't play nl10.
B,just about holding my own at nl4.
    C,where to go from here?

i've always taken poker ,one day at a time and i guess that will continue here.
only a couple more days grinding to go with the champ comp, and then it's a day or two off i think, and re-assess.
yeah,it would be very easy to go playing DYM right now and get back to 'normal'
i should get some losses back from the cash champ comp which will be a nice bonus, and make me feel a little better. lol
i know that long term cash would probably be the better route, but maybe it's just not for me,who knows?
like yourself though,we don't give in that easily and i'm confident that this period i'm going through now is like your current challenge atm,the hardest part.
i don't mind losing as long as i am giving my best and hopefully learning a thing or two along the way.
i am/have been experimenting playing at nl4 and am still trying to figure it out.
i had similar problems playing DYM's and can remember how that used to drive me mad some days,so i am taking that as some comfort atm.
then one day it just clicked and it was like i was playing a different game from all the previous days, and i'm hoping it might be just the same playing cash.i live in hope.

    anyway mate,that's all for now.
    best wishes with your challenge.
    be lucky
    :)
    ian
