best thing to do is ave a break m8 n come bk better n stronger i had a break for over a month best thing i ave done u come bk all fresh not tired or dnt feel like u want to play poker ave a week of it n come bk it will do u good poker is a never ending game as carlo citrone would say
Sharkscope says you've had a rough time, but it is all relative and depends how you view it. Since the start of August you're up a couple of hundred, go further back and you're up more etc. Think about what a tournament win does to your chart, this is essentially just the opposite side of the deviance. Can see how you can be frustrated in this patch but keep doing the things you've always done (except add in a bit of that BRM you're always talking about!!).
Unlucky. Not much to say, it is a swingy game and no matter the level of skill there is always that element of luck involved. You mentioned above about sharkscope, your sharkscope despite a slight down swing is really impressive, more so than many players on sky. It might help to take that break you were talking about and come back afresh. Whatever you decide all the best. Nothing as frustrating as losing, or a losing spell, just unfortunatly it's an inevitable part of the game. So much of poker is psychological and the biggest thing poker players struggle with. Edit: I'm exactly the same, when things arnt going well it's so annoying. Despite the fact i know it's part of the game, and it really affects confidence. There was a really good HU player and he was going through a bad spell and i was pretty much saying what i've just said above. The next week i was having a bad time of it, and he ended up saying the exact same thing to me! Posted by LARSON7
The thing is Larson I am mentally strong. Thats one part of poker that id say im good at. Yes im prone to tilting a little bit when im outdrawn, but when I open another tournament or another cash table - I forget about whats happened before and play my normal game. Yes im a bit upset at the minute with how things are going, but the reason i feel like I want to take a break isnt because of the bad beats, it isn't cause im fed up of poker (i'll get over that pretty quick) - its cause my BR cant take the swing im on. Im going to go broke and its going to land me in a heap of trouble. I really saw tonights rebuy as a great chance to get a very decent score... but it wasn't to be.
I love poker. I enjoy it. I know variance is a part of poker and if I had a mahoosive BR id be happy to continue playing as I know id get my money back. One thing I do struggle with is dropping down stakes... and thats why I think I need a break. If I continue I think i'll probably be too tempted to continue at the level im at and thats just not wise. However if I go away and come back in a while i'll be more inclined to work my way up again.
But yes, at the minute I am pretty gutted at how this week has gone. Freerolls at the end of the month and I'll see what happens from there. (I might try 1 sat for the main ukops too - i have to try one).
On the plus side I reached 5k C4P today. Thats £100 less ive lost this week.

Always been my issue. I feel like I need someone looking over my shoulder making sure im not doing anything stupid.
this is gonna sound silly but i was a tilt monkey now i am disciplined if i play cash now if i lose a buy in i come of the table saves me from chasing my money back n playing cards i wouldnt normally play also self excluded myself from vegas has saved me loads
also if have a really bad nite say i have £600 in my account and lose £100 in 1 day/nite i withdraw the rest £500 so i make sure i dnt play for a few days till my money goes on my bank all the time u have money always tempted to play to try n get ya money bk withing these few days waiting for ya money to go in ya bank when ya come bk ya fresh n ya not tilted ya kinda excited to come bk playing n enjoying the game again
have u ever thought about playing just mtts n skip cash for a bit ? bet small n win big n all that and mtts are fun only lose ya buy in where as on a cash table lose with aces ya talking a whole buy in Posted by IDONKCALLU
Yep. Think I should leave cash alone. I guess im drawn to the fact that you can sit down for 1 hand and double what you bought in for. Hit some terrible positions on cash recently which has cost me a lot of money however. MTTs have always been my strength, however Im running even worse in them.
Just scanning these cash hands on the final page along with those in the clinic, you've got some big bet sizing leaks.
It seems you hit the 3/4 pot button a lot, maybe it's more laziness than anything else but when you're playing deepstacked cash your bet sizing on different boards could be a lot better.
It's a fairly big problem, but luckily really easy to fix.
Don't listen to donk, if dropping 1 buyin in a cash games means you have to auto stand, u shudnt be playing that game in the first place.
Silly rule, no wonder he's so nitty if he's only allowed 1 buyin !
I feel for you Gazza. I'm on a total heater at the moment, but you're a way better player than me. If you can fight your way through this varience, or take a break as other have suggested, you'll be fine. Certainly stay away from any cash tables where the potential to lose a buy in can put strain on your roll.
In Response to Re: The ramblings of a young man (gazza127 diary) : What if you have a guy going all in every single hand and he busts your AA with 83 off suit. And there's 15 people on the waiting list. Would you reload? What if he donked u again very next hand with 54o v your KK all in pre? Would you reload? It's a 20nl table. What if he busts you again 74 v your AK aipf. Would you reload? He's still shoving every hand How many buy ins until you stand? Posted by DOHHHHHHH
Thats some rough beats. But you'd be silly to stand. Ultimately you'l stack him. Simples.

Rubdown much! haha.
The plan:
Try to sat in to one of the UKOPs.
If I fail I wont play, however will have to just crush the freeroll tournaments that are coming up at the end of the month and earn a MVP
You've got £100+ to come for C4P. I'm not even up to 20 quid! haha
This might not be the optimal way to spend your points, but could you buy into the main, essentially playing for free, and go for the really big bankroll boosting score?

You on the other hand have FT the primo twice in the last month as well as other mains. I know what id rather have. lol.
I dunno. Thats kinda like putting all my eggs into one basket... although I do really want to play it. Played 3 UKOPs events in the last series and cashed in two, finishing in the top 15 of both. Id like to think I have a decent chance of cashing but the way ive been running... it may just be a bit too much of a bankroll buster to buy in direct.
Made the last 12. Then this happens. Theres so much dead money in there that im happy to shove and see everyone fold. However I simply do not understand the call. Not.one.bit. He could easily be crushed.
Won 3 or 4 all ins when I was underdog in the tournament after running JJ into AA.... but yeah, when it comes down to it im losing the pots which are important.
Still generally running like cra p. I win this hand and im first with 12 left.
The secret of a frenzy. Keep digging and digging and digging and eventually you'll win. LOL. gazza127 7000 2 £25,000 UKOPS ME Cost me about 45 quid... but at least I got there for cheaper than direct. Wish me luck!! *digging may mean rebuying. Posted by gazza127
Gl gazza, I have given up for the night. I did get through to the semi but busted out mid stages, finished off with an all in sat........wasn't to be!!
Hope you have a deep run, you are due some run good!
im a frenzy king theres a strategdy for em how i make my money most i do is 6 rebuys and cash in 1/2 easy its all about level 20 that is all i say gazza
Maybe this is the start of me coming out of my downswing. I only went and won the 12:30 BH.

One lucky moment springs to mind when someone limped utg with 12 left. I had 16bb and jammed KJs on the button. He tanks, then calls and shows AA. I was a bit peeved with the tank but I feel justice was served as I hit my flush on the turn.
Ran well on the final table. I was a bit card dead but when 6th went out everyone wanted to jam onto my bb for some reason and I kept picked up decent hands which I was happy to call with. Went from 16k to 100k in 5 hands.
So even though UKOPS was a disaster, I can still go to bed happy
Min cashed in the £22 bh, but knocked out 10 of the 59 registered. I was running pretty well which made for a change! Bit dissapointed I didnt take advantage of my chip lead, but the cards dried up and the blinds creeped up and it wasnt to be.
Min cashed in the turbo too. Got it all in pre 55 v AQ. They hit quads lol. That was for the tournament lead... however wasnt to be either!
Also took a stab at cash earlier.

So not a bad day all in all. About £250-£300 up so pretty pleased! Heres hoping it continues as long as my downswing did!

When I say im running bad... Im running bad.
You did better than me i went out early doors, every pot was limped, and if you raised you were getting a family pot most times....
Unreal

It did help that i noticed the rebuy period was about to close when I was on SB.... so I tanked until it came into effect.
Next 4 hands... out out out and then I pick up AK UTG. Game over
Jammed AKs with 15bb. called by 78. runner runner flush ftw.
Sigh. Hate poker sometimes.
