    yeah that was tough.  It felt like the whole of Sky was gunning to take down that pretty star avatar :)  Not to mention the constant stream of 'why u got that star' and 'what is total player' questions.... i could hardly keep up lol....... unlike Tikay who should add an 'it' to that last sentence.

    Poor tikay..... he does take a bashing on ere at times....

    Yes that sure was a tough night ! Im certainly no cash specialist and the action there was quite hot. Those stars do shine a bit too brightly !

    Sometimes when you are really giving it your best the cards never quite fall right !

    I was saved by a few good sit and goes, and go into tomorrow with my bankroll no bigger but still there, knowing I will need a good result in a tourny over the next two nights and absolutely determined to acheive one.

    Cheers guys for updating the forum, just to add all 3 have been very modest, Shaun cottlad had a really good start, £75 up on the cash tables cashed in 3/5 dyms and 2nd in a regulat sit,n,go

    Tony aka penguin is patience personified, thats why hes so consistent, he came good with some stt finishes and Dantb10, he took the beats like the consumate pro and he had some shockers, he kept his composure and steadyed the bankroll with a 2nd place finish in his last mtt.

    I will have to respectfully disagree Sir. As the first two points are completely irrelevant to my original post I will proceed to addressing your third point. You ask 'What was the intent in your post? The intent in my post was to defend one of my friends, whom I respect a lot, from unwarranted rude and offensive remarks. You then state 'it had quietened down after all parties realised that it could get out of hand'. I see no evidence that either it had 'quietened down' or that any of those involved were fearful of it 'getting out of hand'. You continue 'your post is and colud [SIC] be viewed as derogatory and designed to get a response from those people.' What an odd accusation to make especially as you stated at the beginning of your post 'We are all allowed our opinions on this site'. I'm sorry I just assumed I was included in that? Am I not? Of course it could be viewed as derogatory. I think what is more pertinent, however, is whether it was intended to be derogatory, which it was not. I simply gave my true appraisal of the situation at hand and the people involved in it, nothing more.

    Morning all. Sleep well?

    Today brings Day Two of the first Boot-Camp. 

    Great stuff by Ed to keep us posted last night, & ditto by all the guys in TP. And they get to do it all again tonight, & tomorrow!

    Three weeks of this is going to be awesome. And then it will get even better, & tougher.........

    I think I answered all the questions yesterday up to mid-afternoon, before I had to move on to other things, & then get my firefighting gear out, so if I missed any, just put up a reminder, please.

    And I hope you do achieve one. But don't get over-fixated on that bankroll. It's important tio try & maximise it, but it's not everything, & I imagine your Mentor will be looking much wider. It's a key component to success, but only a component, if that makes sense.

    There was some debate on here last night (no, not THAT debate....) speculating on a different method of selecting the Total Player.

    I am not privy to what the TP Management might or might not do. But it does not take much working out to realise that they wil NOT be changng the method of finally choosing who will be the Sky Poker Total Player. The Total Player will be selected by the Sky Poker Players.

    There was also some debate, with several comments, that it might have been better if the Mentor Picks had to do battle with each other during TP, in a sort of "Battle of the Picks". I have no idea what the next Phase of TP involves, but at no stage has it been stated by anyone at Sky Poker that it will or will not happen. So to suggest it is not on the agenda was a mite premature. The Mentor Pick will know what I'm saying. Ignore last night's negative speculation as to methodology, just wait & see.

    That time again!!

    I was following all night last night, its enthralling stuff, especially as a few of the guys r higher stakes players, makes it have the FA cup feel to it, seeing some of the guys I play week in week out at NL 50 trying to slay the giants!

    I was shattered last night, having been playing all night the night before, so although it was interesting, I was struggling to focus properly! Gonna have a few beers tonight, play the TKO and the main event again, and continue to watch u guys play.

    I particuarly hope the guys who ran bad/struggled last night come into their own, I know Dan had a rough ride with the cards, but his commitment and determintation to do well cant be questioned, entering small tournys just before 11 to get max time and max opportunity to impress. I hope the cards go your way tonight mate.

    Also Pryce, as one of the lesser known players, I hope u do well sir, and we avoid eachother in the main event tonight! lol was unfortunate last night, n busting with ak V aq on a big night for u must be hard to take.

    A word for Penguin7, who is mainly a tourny player right? This stage of the comp is gonna be hard for him, as anyone can bust 3 Main events within the first hour having played perfect poker, so I think he has the toughest draw of everyone. Cash players cud run KK into AA first hand, bust, then spend 3 hours smashing the cash to bits. So I really hope u run gud tonight m8.

    GB, CL and YY, all seem to have had good nights last night, best of luck to u guys I hope ur enjoying it!

    Echoing Dylan, good luck to all of Crew Ed tonight.

    We have TKO II at 7pm, but I'm sure that, like last night, many of the regulars will Rail the Picks, & I will certainly be along later, too. 

    The reports by the players, & Captain Ed, were great last night, so the more of them, the better.

    Ouch Wayne - that was a bit of a cooler-night!

    Hope it turns tonight man.

    In the overall scheme of things, I'd think a Mentor would say in cases like you had last night, "it matters not that you got sucked out, I'm only interested in how you played the hand, & how the beat affected you". Nobody can be "marked down" for beats like that imo.

    Hi all - just a quick announcement to TEAM MATT:

    Sadly Wednesday 3rd is no longer a date I can be live online with my team due to a family funeral that afternoon/evening, so for that night I will be Deputising TK to keep an eye on my space cadets and report back on their progress. (Many thanks Tony!)

    ALSO: I've only just seen that I had some PMs sent to the MBroughton account, and have only just worked out that while IE doesn't seem to work when it comes to replying, Firefox can, so huge apologies to anyone who sent me a message and received no reply, I'm now on the case! (Please don't think my ignoring you was me saying "Don't PM!")

    Thanks for kind comments DOHH. You are spot on, this format does make it a bit tough for me as I am mainly a tournament player. Basically I have two more chances to get a result in a big tourny, and it only takes one mistake or one bad beat ! But I have to be positive, even if I miss out, I have been playing a bit of cash lately and wont be afraid to sit down with the big boys if necessary. According to the rules I have over an hour of compulsory cash to go anyway. Although if I am looking for quick bankroll building by tomorrow night its more likely you will see me playing £50 dyms and regular sit and goes where I have a better record. So dont anybody write me off just yet !
