First wee session of 4x 4NL tonight with double points, so now have or think i have qualifed for the 3 freerolls, and steadily having winnnung cash session every night this month,
quick small session this morning, went well, took another profit, instead of 4x4nl I played one table of 10nl, with my morning coffee and getting ready for the casino today as im playing in the regional final.
so I made a profit of £16.84
which now total monthly is is at
+£59.59 cash profit this month pts at 243.
won a large pot right enough and prob shouldn't have been there but had already made my mind if the card helps me on the turn im going all the way.
the reason for the call of the raise pre as I saw the player shove a 30p raise and jammed all in, so fancied having a peek,

Im V2 btw. Nice pot. I kept getting teased into the pot and although didnt like it had to call in the end I guess. 2nd nuts and all that. Sigh. Runner runners rarely work in my favour.
Well done on your progress. You played the hand ok for me.
playing live today, for the regional final, about 180 runners and got off to a good start, pocket 9's got me paid twice, and was well above average level before
break with about 49k, blind at 400/800 1oo ante,
look down a pocket Q's and with a couple of limper before me i raise to 2200, 2 caller, one has me covered one is short,
flop come 456, with two diamonds, UTG, shoves his short stack for 12k and without thinking a re-shove, at this point the guy who has me coverd ponders a call, flips his cards over and he has AKd, nut flush draw with two overs, with the pot at about 60-70k and he has me covered by about 10-15k im hoping he will fold but not too bothered if i get the call,in the end he does call and the turn is an A and its gg.
Today being my longest cash session to date, from about 10.00 till 1530, not long to the regular grinders but plenty for me,
again finshed the session in profit after lossin x2 BI's at nl4 and 1x BI at 10nl,
so today was 3x4nl and 1x10nl and enjoyed the day, a couple of silly hands at the start plus just was getting the luck and getting beat a few hands, after that started to settle and sure the odds came bk in and most of flips and calls where spot on,
so results are,
£12.53 cash profit today
+£72.12 cash profit this month pts at 435.
Br not improved much because again last night I played the £3 all in sats for the £55BH, but happy with my progress at the minute at the low stakes cash!
Great diary been a great read looks like your starting to get the consistency needed to build a bankroll. As we spoke about im too coming back to play on sky at same levels and try build a roll with you mate. Your doing great and sitting for 5 and a half hours without losing concentration is showing great progress.
Not a good finish too the day, lost about a tenner, and twice called off not seeing a flush on the river, first one i never seen atall just called but the second one i actually looked for what was beating me....and said theres no flush there.....mistake and time for bed after that,

Looking forward to it mate, not a good end too the weekend there right enough, a few things to factor in apart from getting tired at the end a losing concentraion, will post hands tommorrow.
No more.double points either, but made alot more than usual by this point,
Last night i added 2 tables sontried 6x 4nl and felt quite comfortable,
A few horrid hands though couple of decision went the other way but i know or feel done the right thing, i.e i raise Kk then a re raise, i raise again and he goes all in, so im thinking the usual kk v aa but no....he turns 45s only to runner runner the 5high straight. Then qq busted by ak all in all im reasonably happy with my progress,
As i said 1 daft hand that i know i should not have called but didnt relise the flush draw. And the same for another but i wouldve called this one through notes on the player.
Well its time for work today i have a class of 20 and teaching drivers hours and digi tacho.
Enjoy your monday everyone i allready cant wait till its over.
So moving on from last night, with a positive attitude and try to correct what I done, will post a few hands below with this post.
For the cash players, a player im talking to and helping me through at 4nl, and from a video I watched, has got the auto top on, should I have this on?
I'm guessing the benefit is never under 100BB and can always win maximum.
Do you have it on?
Do you keep it on at all the levels you play?
and is there any more positives to having it selected?
from last night then, as I said in an earlier post I played 6x 4nl, this is my first time really trying this, and felt a little quick to behin with but soon settled and found it not to bad, though tiredness was kicking in I soon lost a couple of big pots through no fault of my own, and knew from there it was time to stand and leave it there before more damage was done.

These where two of my biggest losses and know I should have got away looking at it, the worst thing is in one of the hands I was looking for the flush or J8 and still called not relising 3 spades on the board BEDTIME!!!! this has wound me up after feeling good and doing well I go and throw it away with this!
I for one dont use auto top up as it makes it so hard to look back in my account and work out how I did. I usually just top up when I go below 85-90 BB's. Each to there own.
Hand one is a clear flop bet. Board is coordinated so need to charge for draws and get money in the pot with what is almost certainly the best hand. Remember on coordinated boards its not just people making hands you have to worry about but scare cards killing your action as you or other player is fearfull of the better hands that can be out there.
Hand two is player dependant. If you know they can shove two pair here or crazy bluff then we can call but to be honest I fold most of the time because there are better straights and obviously the flush (which you missed, doh!). The key to this decision is you have only put in 4p and now your being asked to put in your entire stack! We can sigh and get away.
Yeh, your losing value having not enabled the auto topped up.
Craig - I know what you mean about checking your sessions and the History search ain't the greatest. But, if you only check your 'Funds In", then the details within give you your total buyin for that table and obviously your funds back in. That said, I check my session history immediateley after it. If you leave it for a few days then it becomes dubious to weed out the funds in from the funds out.
tried the auto top up thing and session went a little better tonight, got max value i think from a couple of hands, lost a couplt to though, made about £3 over the hour not alot but at least its a profit!
Wasn't on for long tonight, go in had a tidy, watched some 4nl videos and read DOHHHH 4NL thread which was very enjoyable, but read all the comments and other posts too, with some other great advice added to it aswell. trying too keep on top of the reading and learning side and hopefully see the results, tonight I managed to stay away from all allin' sats and mtt's and just focused solely on 4NL.
just stuck with 4x4NL tonight and tried to focus on making correct decisions, but some bad ones still needing to be ironed out.
finish the night with a small profit but hopefully continue to win back my losses yesterday but still in profit for the month cash wise.
£3 al in sats are very tempting and spewed some more last night for the roller. so BR hasn't took much of an increase but glad the cash is in profit and lot a loss.
so finishing tonight with
+£64.97 cash profit this month pts at 583 ---------------------------------------------
some hands from tonight tried to get maximum payment, some came off some didn't.

this one I wasn't sure if I should have called or not, felt I might have been good, the next hand had a similar board, very similar for it to be paired with 8's again, and when it did pair the player re-raised the same as this, although he/she did have it which makes me think this was the correct play in the end.
Just want to pick up on the last hand because I'm a bit short of time and also impressed at you playing for max value. As poker players, whether winning or not, our biggest weakness is our biggest leak. Winning and leaking go hand in hand too and that's why reading & learning must become part of your game. Something that you already have clearly endorsed.
Your raise from the BB is too small with AJs or for that matter any cards that your going to raise from here with 2 limpers. Your OOP (Out of Position) and we, like any other hand want to get HU pre-flop with a donk/fish/spewtard multi-tabler pro, it doesn't matter.
On the very first hand you put up on the last post, you 3xBB + 1 limper raise on the button with QJo. Whereas here, you on the last 1xBB +2 Limpers from the big blind. Being OOP meaning that all the more reason to thin the field pre flop. You had a btter hand, why not 3xBB + 2 limpers making it 0.24. For 4NL, make it it bigger! They don't care so long as their hand looks mono colour or 6 gapper adjioners.
If you raise that pre-flop (I personally would have went 0.40p) 0.32p and get called by the SB as you did. With the pot and you trying to get max value, you would have him all in on the turn. Which is exactly what we're trying to achieve when we think we're ahead.

The main reason I use auto topup before was due to this happening before Sky added the feature...
Lose a big pot but not a whole stack due to a bad beat (say you're left with 10bb), then before you can manually top-up your stack you get dealt AA the very next hand. Not only are you unable to get max value from them (obviously), you are also much more vunerable to the hand being played multiway and therefore less likely to win the hand at all... used to be so tilting!!
So happy that Sky finally fixed this at the last big software update!

Back tonight after a few days off, trying to play when im feeling up for it, and not when im tired or head in other things,
been a busy couple of days, 2 new starts in the truck they test on monday and no reason why they shouldn't get through, couple of good drivers, and always makes the week a little quicker if thay can take on information and have a bit of laugh aswell.
at night been putting a mate through his forklift ticket which he has no problem with, his test is on sunday!! gl with that .. you'll prob read this... it will cost you a £100 too pass mind!
so a night off from that so back for another crack at the 4nl tables, done some more reading up and some more advice offered so hopefully see if i can put it to good use,
still find myself calling some hands i miby should be letting go pre or post flop, and my standard 3x raise, old habbits die hard.. step at a time.
so my questions for tonight,
when raising i heard people ssaying losing value with just button bashing the tab bars 1/2 3/4 and pot, should i be taking the time to type my bet size, if so.
WOW, Not a good session, just lost £13.52 very quickly!!
some sick beats, and one I played badly must admit,

As Beaneh said to me many years ago... if you don't understand that you should type in your own bets, then you don't understand bet sizing/why you're betting different sizes. He was always a harsher critic than I am, but it worked on me.
Every flop is different and on every different flop we will always be in different scenarios where the villian's perceived ranges are different due to preflop action. The more you can hand read, the better you should be with sizing your bets
Why would we bet the same on 992r as we would on KQ8ss, it just doesn't make any sense.
Likewise if we 3bet KK, and get a call, say pot is £90p and villian only has £1 behind, it makes no sense to bet anywhere near half pot on K89r. We're never folding so we just wanna keep his calling down range as wide as possible and maybe even give him the chance to bluff shove, so just going like 20p flop, 30p turn, jam river is much better than just pressing 1/2 pot.
There are lots of reasons to alter your sizing, but just think about how a flop connects with the range you've assigned villian and what you want to achieve by betting.
Yes 100% don't use the betting buttons As Beaneh said to me many years ago... if you don't understand that you should type in your own bets, then you don't understand bet sizing/why you're betting different sizes. Posted by Lambert180
That's one hell of a pot at 4nl.
That 22 hand, if we're first into the pot we should be coming in for a raise with our whole range ideally. If we only raise strong hands, and limp with everything else, then we have quite an unbalanced range and make it easier for villains to play accordingly vs us.
Could argue range balancing at 4nl isn't that important, but its a habit you don't want to be slipping into.
I texted you most of the issues I had with these hands and I cant mind much about what I said except about your bet sizing and position but ul mate did you play 2night if so hope you did well.

Took note of what you where saying mate, cheers, yeah just played one table and got a bit bk from Thursday, just going to post that up next and see how my points and profit if there is any stands.
After a bad run on Thursday night, (see above) I made a little back on Friday, having the little one running around I just played 1x10nl and went quite well, won just over a buy in bk at £11.42 profit from the 1 table over about an hour.
then the little one decided it was time to act up and nearly smashed my desktop by throwing it off the table and my keyboard which now has a dodgy space bar and letter B.
Not looked through, my hands from last night im hoping there is a difference and hopefully the things people are saying will show in the hands.... lol, but it is quite hard to take all the things in, and put it all in one session, time will tell.
so last night I seen a cash profit off £11.42
so totol monthly cash is £62.87 and pts at 689

will post a few hands below with this post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
from last night then, as I said in an earlier post I played 6x 4nl, this is my first time really trying this, and felt a little quick to behin with but soon settled and found it not to bad,
though tiredness was kicking in I soon lost a couple of big pots through no fault of my own, and knew from there it was time to stand and leave it there before more damage was done.

this has wound me up after feeling good and doing well I go and throw it away with this!
