Personally if i were you I would invest in a pen, and an actual diary... you can then fill that with all your records, notes and lots of positive comments. Then no-one will ever be able to say one bad thing to you...

But while you have an open diary in a forum people are free to write whatever they see fit, I cant see any personal benefit to you for having this diary as you dont want to improve, you dont want to take on board constructive critisism and you dont seem to be much of a "people person"

after reading a few pages it seems that maybe you are just looking for a bit of an ego boost?? which being a winning player you will get... but after a while people will try and help you improve and thats when you have to be able to handle the critisism.

so my overall advice would be to either take the critisism on board, soak it all up and try to implement most of what you are being told, or if that isnt what you want to do then maybe keep a diary on your own where you can do exactly as you like without anyone else having an input

n1 MrD a quality post as always. (ps do i need to start a forum war to get you to reply to my comments on your rivers thread? ).

dev, i do think your apology was not helpful as it was clearly not meant. In the same way as hhyftrftdrs comment above isn't helpful but is relevant.

You don't have to be a saint to be active on the forum. But as jac mentioned there has been a change in personality from before, and a lot of us loved the old dev. That's not to say we can't love the new one but a little more contrition and a little less arrogance would help. life is a biitch and times change and we all need to live with that. Be more reasonable when you disagree with comments and everyone will be happier. and yes there are some trolls on this thread saying things just to be inflammatory, and they are very worthy of an ignore list. But for the majority read and enjoy if possible, learn if helpful and ignore if sh*te.

Dev's declared a clean slate and I suggest everyone move past everything which has been said previous.

Move on from now and don't keep anything previous simmering imo.

day 230 sat 31/1/15  day off

    January summary;

    b/r at start £686.26   * (not including dec c4p of £16.51)
    b/r at end £689.34

    months profit +£3.08  pts 150 +(£1.50 to come) = £4.58

    £5 dym's total W 323 L 251
profit at start of month £79.00
profit at end of month £67.50
    overall loss -£11.50

    cash nl4 (1 table) 6 sessions played  won £1.70 £4.45 £0.14 £2.39 £7.10 £0.79

    total cash profit +£16.57

so a winning month in the end...just, which never looked likely tbh. so happy about that.
    * £11.93 loss in effect inc dec c4p
after a poor start to the month & hardly playing for 10 days or so due to illness, then all the rubbish going on off the tables, then ended by deciding to play cash for the last week or so due to my internet disconnection problems..
    just another month really -:)

ok, so where do we go from here in February?

more cash? more dym's? guess that's the big decision.
I've already mentioned that I think the dym's will eventually all go to the turbo format, as has happened at 888
a month or two ago, & as that has no interest to me.
    so what about playing cash?
ok, I'm rubbish at it but if I decided to go with it, I would do it properly this time, beginning at nl4 1 table to begin with, & from the 6 sessions played so far it's not so bad, even allowing for my passive rubbish play.

so it's more cash right now.
i'm also happy playing short sessions as you know & cash really suits that well.
yes this is a dym challenge & tbh I didn't see this change coming at all, but I'm going with it.
if in a week or so it's not working out, I can always revert back to dym's again, so that option will always be there for me.
so there it is another month over & a new one begins.

I'll finish off with a quick mention about the off the table antics as it was a major part of this months diary.
I've made some comments which I'm not proud of & I apologise to all concerned for that.
I speak my mind & it gets me in to trouble at times.
It's not been all one way traffic though & I've been provoked at times, but I'll do my best to keep my feelings under control & get this diary back on track.

are the turbo DYM's a new addition or are sky promoting them more heavily?

they will be lower-edge higher variance games. have sky reduced the rake of these, or is that a silly question? guess they will attract recreationals so specialists will still have an big edge esp in the end-game which will be a big part of turbo formats. there is just less scope for recs to  make early game deepstacked mistkes.

is there a particular reason you dont like the turbos dev? guess the dynamcs are different.

in the end winning players are slaves to recs. if they prefer turbos you have to adapt or find a new format i guess. cash tables are very popular, innit.

WP dev - I still don't understand what I said to upset you on this thread - I was even supporting your call in the infamous K8 hand - however I too said some things I later regreted on another thread and I'll add to the apology from my own diary here. Sorry.

    GL in February.

    Hi dev.
You mentioned 888 dym's had gone all turbo & you thought that might be the way things are going to go everywhere so a quick question as i only play on sky.Are the turbo dym's elsewhere as fast & shallow & the same rake as sky?
  • edited February 2015
    cheers guys,
i've only noticed the turbo's coming in during the last few months, as I accidently reg'd for a £5 one *£11 one in fact by mistake...which I lost   duuuuh,
i've no idea if they are here to stay or not or if they are some kind of promotion thing or anything.
all I know is with 2 minute blinds & a starting stack of 1000 chips compared to 5 minute blinds & a 2000 starting stack with regular dym's, there is very little room for manouvere & it must/does play diferently.
i've only played a few, where I reg'd by mistake but the game play isn't the same for me & you have to make your moves earlier or you get blinded away i've found. i'm not sure what my win/loss is about 50/50 i'm guessing. i could probably adapt to them but not going to as i'm trying cash again right now.
i'm not saying they will all go turbo but they might as 888's have done.
the rake is still the same at 10% on them,i guess if they reduced it to 5% it could be a winner for me.
i believe the rake is 10% at 888 but i'll check & confirm that. i'll also look at the blinds & starting stacks which i think are 1500 chips.they are 10 handed games where top 5 cash but i think the fast format would be the same as here.
i did play a few regular dym's there but the 1500 starting stack didn't feel as good to me as here where we get 2000 giving us the extra game play.

ok, at 888 the now called super turbos are 8 handed tables top 4 get paid

500 starting chips  3 min blind levels   level 1  10/20 with 5 chip ante
                                                           level 2  15/30 with 5 ante
                                                          level 3  25/50 with 10 ante
                                                           level 4 50/100 15 ante
                                                          level 5 75/150  20 ante
    they start at 68c& 7c rake =75c buy-in  just under 10% i make it   top 4 win $1.36 (2x68c)
    then $1.50 buy-in  $1.37+13c rake about 8-9% i make it approx  top 4 win $$2.74 (2x$1.37)
    then the only others going were  $7 buy-in $6.60+40c rake  about 6%-7% i'm guessing  top 4 win $13.20 (2x$6.60)
had low stakes filter on, the highest game is $86 ($83+$3 rake) top 4 win $166 each

not my day today but my first loss in 7 sessions so no complaints.

felt i played more aggressive than normal, so happy with that at least.

Good stuff on and off the table recently Devlaaaaa.

    cheers Dohhhh,
yeah, did Taylor in the darts but nothing since then.
don't follow rugby, presume that's the 6 nations so won't be betting there, have to win it the hard way, ha ha

    2xnl4

    won £3.18  b/r £691.38  pts 16   (total cash profit +£18.61)

multi-tabling today...there's confidence for you, ha ha.
played pretty solid I think, 3x raising from all positions now...most of the time  :)
not getting carried away just yet though as it's still early days, but it's getting more comfortable each session.
obviously going to get a bad session sometime but happy with how it's all going.

    ******************************************************************************************

    day 234 wed 4/2/15

    1xnl4
    lost £7.97  b/r £683.41    (total cash profit +£10.64)

i knew today was coming... losing to flush on river when holding trip jacks & when players left table was heads up for a few hands, picked up pocket 9's, remembered what i'd heard on tv about how any pair is a good hand h/u so raise re-raise etc, all-in v loose player who had jj... meh, not the end of the world.

anyway,  moving on from that,  I've withdrawn my b/r of £683.41 giving me a profit of £643.41 from my original £40 deposit.
probably not the biggest of surprises after last months shenanigans.
just feel I've gone far enough with this challenge & need something new & fresh to focus on.

I'm not posting this in a new post as I'm not looking to make it a big deal or anything.
I'd like to thank all those that gave me their support, I'm not going to mention any names but you all know who you are.
Obviously I'm disappointed not to reach my £1040 target but I'm still more than happy with the final result.

    so what now?
I've $5 odd in my 888 poker account which I am going to try & spin up
I'll play 60 seat mtt tournaments with a 2c buy-in (giving me over 250 buy-ins) & see how that goes.
If I can get it up to $20-$25 then I'll move up to the next level of 10c buy-ins & continue   lol

ok, it's not serious money but should be a bit of fun & light relief right now.
then added to that there are $500 & $5000 freerolls i can play in (i've 11 tickets to use up & counting) so should be fun.

so, that's it,  I'll say my goodbyes to you all...for now anyway.
I expect I'll look in from time to time & see how you are all doing.
I'll probably be back playing again at some point but feel a break right now is much needed.
    best wishes to everyone,
    dev
